  1. 5 straight missed FTs and a bricked wide open three. It’s the little things.
  2. To be clear, that prediction comes more from not thinking it’s going to work out and he wants to get out while he still can. Or he doesn’t like how the administration does things (he wouldn’t be alone), this decision included. He was very vocal about his displeasure with the 2022 schedule. Doesn’t do anything to set you up for success.
  3. Improvements that will not be impacting the fans whom the move impacts the most. I get it. But at the end of the day, this administration has once again shown they aren’t so different from the rest after all. Akron has voluntarily decided against building and appreciating its fan base once again. My football checkbook, way way smaller than anyone’s who actually matters, is closed as of today. I also predict Moorhead will take another job after this year, but I’m on the fence about that one.
  4. Line has swung back and forth quite a bit. Now sitting at Drake -1.5 but it really just depends on the book. Neither team has looked great this week and I’m a skeptical traumatized Akron fan when it comes to nonconference games against top 100 squads. I’m expecting a pretty close loss, but a win would be damn cool.
  5. Well, adding a pre-season All-MAC player, who previously led a MAC champion in scoring will in all likelihood improve the team, if nothing else, he will add quality depth.
  6. Kretzer and McAdams' shooting would've made the difference last night
  7. Kent bounces back, and the MAC’s Gulf Coast Showcase nightmare continues with Buffalo losing to Hofstra by approximately 6,000.
  8. Had a bad feeling when our first FG attempt was a 3 that wasn’t even close. Dawson and Tavari looked way off shooting. And Thornton alligator armed a pair of wide open layups. Blown blockout in the last minute. Thrown away ball by Dawson. We really did look like the football Zips tonight. It felt a lot like the South Dakota State game, only the shots weren’t falling. Specifically Dawson, who came up huge in that game with clutch deep 3s. They didn’t fall today and that got to him. This is more like the early season losses I remember from years past.
  9. I predict Groce will say we stunk again. And he’s right. Vets were very bad. Guards bad. I really can’t believe or understand how the Zips stayed in it. This one sucks. Not the end of the world, but it sucks.
  10. Email sent. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Can we really be fortunate enough to win ugly 2 nights in a row?
  11. Missing layups and open ones all day long. Defense could only hold them down so long.
  12. Tribble passing up more open looks inside. Guess the team was spooked after playing bad teams close in scrimmages.
  13. Don’t look interested. Missing layups, not rebounding, taking bad shots.
  14. The cut through the lane when Freeman has the ball will rarely work, especially against long good teams. Not sure what the goal is with that time after time.
  15. I suppose lucky to be down only 4. We look like the new, inexperienced group so far, not them. That’s gotta change. Tribble, TJ, Thornton not creating anything for the offense. Wide open misses by Dawson, TJ, KT don’t help either.
  16. Can’t win with the refs this week. Near side ref had a clear shot of the jersey grab.
  17. Not sure how we’re so unprepared for all the defenses we’re facing. Zips have had a 1-3-1 in their bag for years, yet look clueless against it. Pretty disappointed so far, can’t lie.
  18. Oakland lost to Walsh in a scrimmage a few weeks ago, but has somehow rallied to make their way into the 5th place game in the Caymans. They are shocking the world!
  19. He had 5 opening night, but only 1 against D1 competition since then. To the eye, he still has a long way to go, but I agree his mean has looked better so far. That outburst against Nevada last year may always hang over his head, for better or for worse. Coach said on the post game we essentially have 4 starting point guards—talent wise. He isn’t wrong. Tavari would be a go-to guy on a lot of MAC teams.
