Maybe we can get some ponchos with the "Moving A" on the back. You know, like the ones the football team still use.2 points

Speaking of tacky, how about the barricades they installed around the concourse after the Pitt game?2 points

This game is exactly why I'd rather see these types of road games and less home cupcake games. Even if Arkansas is at the bottom of the SEC, it's a big win and these types of wins are worth so much to a program like Akron's!.2 points

Because it looks tacky and sends an inconsistent message. And fans who attend the games are entitled enough as it is. There is no way that somebody who pays to sit in the lower level would willingly sit in the upper level just to use an umbrella. A better emphasis could be made to actively sell Akron ponchos though. I'll say that much in terms of accommodation.1 point

I think it's funny and okay to be confident. But something like that is a bit too cocky for a team that has never beaten a ranked team. Ever. Probably not a good idea to give the #11 team in the nation some extra motivation.1 point

I think the best quote of the night was at the end of the Antino interview when Frenchy said "You'll need to be ready for Jalen Brunson on Sunday" and Antino replied "No. He'd better be ready for me."1 point

The Zips basketball team, and soccer teams are very successful and students still don't show up to games; I was at the soccer game sunday for the MAC Championship, and (on a beautiful day) there were very few students...). The student-attendance problem is a cultural one, and it has many variables that have been discussed at length on this thread and on this board.1 point

For getting beaten by a perceived "lower division" team, that's one of the most magnanimous post game pressers I've seen. Anderson seems like a good guy.1 point

A nice win, but lets keep in mind more than a few have picked Arkansas to finish dead last in the SEC....which is 14th place! ... so I think they were a team that Akron had to beat- mission accomplished. Now lets hope they can pull an upset in Philly1 point

I wonder if Brian Wickstrom is sitting in Louisiana watching the Zips football team on the verge of a bowl bid, men's soccer team with a top 4 NCAA seed, and the men's basketball team knocking off an SEC team, saying "I think I f'd up"?1 point

A great win for the Zips. Cannot remember a game where everyone played so well. This team loves to shoot the 3 and when we are hot from the 3 line we look really good. Antino turned in one of the best performances from a guard in Zips history playing all 40 minutes. The announcers were very good and gave the Zips credit for the win.1 point

Great job by the Zips finishing the game. KD getting the technical is absolutely the right thing to do. So, is Antino going to be a backup PG when Noah comes back???!!! what a great problem to have! Oh, and... and also:1 point

Hey, the trailing official just called a foul on the usher in Section 12. From the locker room.1 point

Kretzer needs to follow his shot and not stand there and admire it like he hit a moon shot home run.1 point

Kretzer's career has been largely lackluster outside of the one game vs. Ohio where he didn't miss.1 point

Prefer not to bump this discussion, but I think it's worth mentioning. In both of the home game I've attended this year, I've noticed a pathetic excuse of student section even for Akron's standards.Chants? No. I follow the AK Rowdies on twitter and something has caught my eye the past few days. A ton of promoting for the soccer team (not that there is anything wrong with that) and even a solid amount for the basketball team for as early in the season as it is. However on the other hand, there is hardly anything at all for the Football team. Absolutely no promoting to try and get Rowdies to the games. No soccer ticket giveouts for showing up(like they did for student who came to the Hiram game), no free pizza, no free hot chocolate/donuts, no free shirts, nothing. I will give them credit for having their tailgate, but it doesn't really promote getting students to the game. Students have a lack of interest in the football program, and unfortunately part of the problem is a lack of interest from student leadership. The Zips are playing their biggest game in quite some time and support will be pathetic im sure come Saturday. https://twitter.com/TheAKROWDIES1 point

All these sites appear to be fake. There is no actual link that works. AND, there appears to be no audio. Once a week the solicitors call me asking for alumni donations. And once I week I tell them NO. If you are going to book D1 games with NO video or audio coverage you can go suck an egg.1 point

It is available streaming on WatchESPN via SECNetowrk+ (which is owned by ESPN, as some have mentioned before). Here's the link if you have access from major cable providers or if your a hip Millenial and you have a $20 a month subscription to SlingTV which gives you streaming access to ESPN. http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2681981/size/condensed/1 point

Well it seems to me that if you’re going to bother celebrating a culinary delight which has its origins in rural Quebec of the 1950’s, you might as well enjoy it with the appropriate weather. I’m normally pretty careful about the nutritional value of a meal – not this Saturday. Paired with some select Unibroue offerings, I know one little corner of Lot 9 will be transformed into Vieux-Montréal, if only for a day. Why it’ll be the envy of Céline Dion, Mario Lemieux, and Jabari Arthur. Let’s rock this poutine cookoff!1 point

It is funny...a 10 point road win, our 4th road road win of the year...only 3 years removed from triple 1-11 seasons...is cause to get rid of the coaching staff and start over. For a vocal few. A vocal one is consistently amazed that we don't fill InfoCision after we string two wins together. Zips are having a nice season. I'm looking forward to Saturday. I'll be dressed warm, slightly drunk, and cheering for the Zips! F Buffalo!1 point
