I don't see the need to criticize. The man is just trying to get his sons name out to different colleges. He doesn't know if anyone that visits this forum has any pull with the football staff to get them to watch tape of a player. Perhaps the kid pans out, perhaps he doesn't. We don't know this guys story or what kind of father he is. We shouldn't judge.

Saying that the MAAC is simply just "not very good" compared to the MAC is the understatement of the year. Monmouth's conference SOS is 239 and Akron's is 121. Clark, you also missed that Monmouth lost to their conference champ TWICE, and one of them was a blowout loss at home. Yes, that was the same Iona team that we beat handily in Vegas.

A team with a 150 RPI is still in the top 43% of college basketball. Akron has 2 bad losses at the very most and those were to teams that are hovering around the 50% percentile of college basketball. Monmouth didn't have bad losses, they had disastrous losses. Losing to Green Bay who beat Valpo and is making the tourney isn't the same as losing to Manhattan, Army, or Cansius. GB as is NIU and KSU RPI are ~100 spots better than all 3 of those teams. CMU about 80 spots.

It is fantastic to hear a player call Akron his dream school. That is the first step to building a strong program long term. Lets hope that he keeps this view as he continues to be pursued. Michigan is hard to turn down if they end up offering.

I'd rather have 6 loses to RPI 100-199 than 3 losses to RPI 200+.

Not saying he didn't deserve it, but am I the only one who thinks Campbell is one of the weakest POTYs in recent memory? I didn't see him play much but when I did he certainly didn't blow me away. I just think if you compare him to past big men who have won it recently (Moss, McCrea, Greene, Travis, etc.). Guess it follows the theme of lack of dominant teams/players.

I'm not denying the fact that the MAC doesn't give basketball the same attention that it gives football, but at the same time I don't see an easy way of fixing the TV situation. The MAC has a niche in football with the midweek games because for the most part the B1G, SEC, PAC-12, and all other conferences play the bulk of their games on Saturday and the NFL plays their games on Sunday with only 1 Monday and 1 Thursday game. People watch because they have an itch for football and its' the only thing on. You would be hard pressed to find a night of the week that didn't feature at least 30 basketball games between college basketball and the NBA. I'm not absolving them of blame as there are things that need improving. They need to start by getting their showcase tournament to air on an actual cable station for all games Thursday-Saturday. TWCSN is not acceptable as it eliminates any fan that has dish or another cable provider from watching. ESPN would be a stretch for anything besides the Final and perhaps semis, but there are a host of other options FSN, FS1, FS2, CBSSN, NBCSN just to name a few. I should be able to walk into a sports bar and ask them to turn the game on and not have them tell me sorry we don't carry that station.

I have a PS4 and a Ipad that has apps. I know how watchespn works as I used it in the past to watch Zips games. The issue is if you go to try to log into watchespn, they ask for your cable provider login info. Since I no longer have cable, my timewarner credentials will no longer allow for me to utilize watchespn.
