Pretty simple stuff. If I spent 5 seconds worrying about Jerome Lane's mommy's Tweet pouting about Jo Jo Natson being voted more valuable than Jerome...OMG - The truth hurts, mom. He was. If I spent 5 seconds fretting over Tommy Woodson's Tweet that "They done me shady" after he didn't play in the OU game.... OMG - You did the Zips shady by weighing in at 260 lbs when we needed you at QB a couple years ago. At the end of the 2016 season you couldn't pick up your right arm, let alone throw a football 50 yards. Get over it and have a great, healthy 2017 senior season. A OL accepts the chance to play in the Rose Bowl instead of the Potato Bowl...and that's a knock? Really? A NFL-caliber WR wants to drop Western Cult to focus on an NFL football career, and that's a knock? From everything I've seen, he'll be drafted. All this stuff could certainly be apocalyptic. Or, it could make me *yawn* To each his own. Go Zips!2 points

Bummer to lose a solid senior left tackle. Luckily we have some good depth on the OL now-a-days. Quigly did a really nice job at center when he got a chance to play against Ball State. Maybe whatever shuffling of the line occurs gives him a chance to strut his stuff this fall. Or maybe another grad transfer shows up. OL is the least of my worries in 2017.2 points

In general I feel when things are going good and you're winning, players are less likely to take to social media to voice their petty concerns. When things are going bad finger pointing happens and players start wanting out.1 point

I can't think of a single person that has said that. Buts lets keep pushing agendas. I've never wanted football season to start more. This constant threadshitting is getting old.1 point

With rosters of 100+ 19-24 year-old egos there is drama like this all the time every season everywhere. We just happen to follow Akron. Add the somewhat recent phenomena of social media & now everyone can read about it.1 point

What did the Zips in is they only have 1 OOC top 100 win (Marshall 74 RPI/ 99 Kenpom) and 0 top 50 wins. Akron needs to schedule better OOC if it ever hopes to get an at-large even if it means sacrificing a home game to collect a check to play at Pitt, Cincy, or wherever.1 point

Let's see.... We have ANOTHER Qb fiasco this year which ends up having Woodson call out the coaching staff on social media. We have our highly touted freshman qb with his father on social media ripping the other QB's because of how bad they are and saying that they better hope his son doesn't transfer because the staff is inept. The mother of our best returning receiver rips the coaching staff on social media and then her son turns pro instead of returning for his senior season, which he needs. We have our best OL, who by the way transferred here because he thought we were his best playing opportunity transfer out because.... well... he now doesn't see us as his best opportunity. But there is nothing to see here. Everything is just fine.1 point

He was kicked off the team in 2015 and he was still an undergrad. So, I am wondering if his enrollment at Akron counted as an undergrad transfer? When did ne actually enroll at UA? Is it possible he enrolled for fall and finished a class from Michigan via the web or something to satisfy graduation requirements? He is a very good tackle and has a real shot at an NFL career. He was a top recruit in 2013, and according to this article, burned a recruiting letter from OSU. I had not realized that he was a four star recruit. By the looks lf it he bleeds Michigan and if he is returning, it likely more of a matter of his love for them more than his dislike of Akron. I wish him luck. It seems like he has worked hard and learned some tough lessons.1 point

Even if he finished in summer and walked in December, he used his grad transfer this year and I don't see how he would be able to "double dip". Oh well. Next man up.1 point

Depends, but usually collaborative agreements involve exchanges in cultural studies and/or enrichment (faculty and students), like exchange programs (study abroad etc...); researchers at both universities to form collaborative exchange of information in research/developing research projects jointly. Among other things of course depending upon the circumstances. It is a great thing, because it's another opportunity for students to get a one-of-a-kind experience at the University of Akron as well as keeping up with the Joneses. It is a popular thing with business programs...engineering programs, design programs and the sort these days.1 point

Then there aren't too many opportunities out there since a total of 2 have gone...1 point

I understand that the Danang students are thrilled to be getting free admission to all Akron football and basketball games. Just as thrilled as our own students in Akron as a matter of fact.1 point

I agree. I think Dog is our MVP, because if you take him away from our team, our offense has to change entirely and we don't play that well when he is not out there. Not sure Dog is quick enough for the NBA but could definately make a 10-15 year playing career overseas if he chooses like many other Zips. For Kwan, I want to think he may get a "look" from NBA teams (If Rischaun Holmes can make it I think Kwan has a chance). He's 6'10 so I think he has decent size/length to play power forward. Many of the 4's in the NBA are more perimeter offensive players (which Kwan is). He moves pretty well for his size to be able to handle pick and rolls defensively (ignore almost falling down on the crossover and banked 3 last night). I would love for the Cavs to get him (not sure if they have a second round pick this year or as an UDFA) to give them someone else to spell Love other than Frye (plus he would be cheap for a team that is so over the cap). Obviously, the major knock is he doesn't really have a low post offensive game but that wouldn't be needed on a team like the Cavs. You just need to rebound, play defense, and hit spot up jumpers.1 point

Would anyone have guessed Keene and Big Dog would have the same number of points? No matter what that number was1 point

Stole it from the Bowling Green folks so crediting them here. With no team finishing the season undefeated, the Zips shortest route to the National Championship. Zips beat Kent Kent beat CMU CMU beat OK St OK St beat Pitt Pitt beat Clemson1 point
