  1. I'm more than happy to see some seating surrendered at the JAR to improve the facility. Other than the Kent game, they don't fill the seats they have and an improvement to the facility may result in a jump in attendance but it would be short lived. My design strategy would be that no seat should be at a distance greater than a male cheerleader can throw a Gionino's t-shirt or a Taylor Made Jewelry mini-basketball.

  2. Based on some of the male cheerleaders we had this season, that would be about 10 feet.

  3. I've Updated the Roster, for convenience the PDF is below, as well as the original post. Take a look at it and see what you see! The confirmed incoming class is currently listed as freshman (even though it's not on the website's roster), but we're assuming that they will be here come fall. Zips Roster UPDATE SPRING 2017.pdf Additions (besides the incoming class of freshman): (RS) SO WR Jason Grossman Sr. OL Matt Blaha (Disappeared from the Roster at some point last season and is now back on it...) RS Fr OL Josh Snow RS Fr OL Tito Vasquez Sr. OL LaVonne Gauthney (also apparently disappeared from the roster at some point last season) RS Fr P Peyton Coffman Jr CB Hugh Cade SO CB Alvin Davis Jr CB Myrian Mounds RS FR LB Demarkus Glover Losses (besides the outgoing senior class): (RS) SO WR Isiah Rainey-Nix (RS) SO WR Freddie Simmons (RS) SO DL Andy Jean-Baptiste Jr LB Brian Bell Interesting Notes: A couple of players shifted around, MTB is now a TE (which we knew about), Anthony Young and Kwadarrius Smith are no longer listed as ATH, but now as WR. A couple of players made the shift to either DL or OL. And we have just about a million RS Freshman OL. For the first time ever, we have more people in the FRESHMAN category than each of the other three individually. Please let me know if something is wrong/or an update that I may be unaware of. It takes a little bit of time to update the list and sometimes something slips through the cracks.

  4. This TE talk has me thinking. I wonder if the coaching staff would explore moving MTB back to WR. He underwhelmed some there I think (certainly wasn't bad though), but he was only a true freshman and sophomore at the time. Lane and Natson essentially forced him to switch positions last year in order to see the field. With the addition of Long at TE, and assuming he is solid, I think it might be a good idea to find a way to get as many playmakers on the field as possible, especially with the questions at WR going into the season.

  6. Can't be worse than the Kent state student hoisting 3 pointers at the championship game. "Use your legs!!!"

  7. I'm doing some digging. I doubt it will yield anything though.

  8. Good work, @Balsy. This would be a good basic article for GT to write to get conformation or corrections. Most reporters covering a college football team would.

  13. NBA teams have gotten better at scouting the overseas talent pool, and you also see less teams drafting kids who stayed in school for 3-4 years. So, even though the MAC talent level has risen, there's less "spots" for them to get drafted.

  14. I watched the Kent UCLA game and Kent played very well and was with 6 with about 10 minutes left in the second half. Kent had numerous offensive rebounds and forced UCLA to double Hall. UCLA then went through a stretch late in the 2nd half where they made 10 or 12 straight shots to build up a 20 point lead. Kent played great basketball during the tournament and peaked at the right time. The final score did not reflect the true nature of the game. (like our game with Gonzaga). I may not be in the majority but I was routing for Kent to be competitive because it reflects on our conference. We will never get a second bid for our conference as long as we are always one and done when we get to the conference tournament.

  16. So even when we win, we have to be negative. Give it a rest already!

  17. Agree to disagree. Houston shot 46 percent from the floor and 47 from three. Hate to see what an inspired performance would have looked like!
