  2. That made me laugh. So many posts leave the door open to a smart a$$ reply, right? Man, I thought I had learned many years ago never to volunteer to do anything. Hopefully I will make some progress with my investigative work this weekend, if I see some of the people I expect to see.

  3. As long as this thread is here... TDS tweeted this morning that Cleveland Internationals' Director of Women's Coaching Keri Sarver, the former Akron assistant coach (years -- from about 2009-2014??) will be taking over as the new head coach of the US Women's U-19 National Team. That is pretty amazing, and quite surprising. Keri is a Jackson High School grad and former Maryland all-America who played in the WUSA and other pro leagues for several years, and was in USWNT camps, but apparently never capped for the national team. The tweet from TDS: Here is Keri's bio from GoZips.com: http://www.gozips.com/sports/wsoc/coaches/KeriSarverBio?view=bio

  6. I should clarify - I wasn't saying Noah had decided anything.

  7. I actually considered posting about Farmer when I shared the list. I would 100% support UA giving him another chance. I have read multiple articles both from the time of the incident and in the years since. Every one talks about how many coaches/teachers/mentors that have worked with Farmer believe that it was one horrible decision and they hope that it does not ruin his life. Also interesting is that he goes to Lee College which is right outside of Houston. The top 100 list also has two of his teammates listed. One is a wing that has already signed with TCU, but the third is an unsigned point guard. I would love a package deal. I know that our Houston connection left with our coaching staff, but I think that we could still play up the Houston kids that we still have on the roster.

  10. Keri was a solid assistant here, but IMO the program never capitalized on her ties to the Internationals and Clubs in the area for recruiting. She was only coach her for a few years, 2012 through 2014, under Vernon. Would have liked it if she had a look for the HC job before they hired Noreen...not sure if she did or didn't. She seemed to connect with the women on the team. Different philosophies than the head coach at the time? Dunno. Played with the Terps at Maryland, to boot. Good for her on the new assignment!

  13. All would be lost if we got the wrong coach. That is not the case. JG will get the job done and have a higher ceiling than KD. The road there will not be smooth and perhaps the rockiest phase is what we are going thru now. But we will emerge as a better progrum and we will reach higher levels. He needs time. Support him and let him do his job.

  14. Conner wrote an open letter to NFL GM's about how he wants to be seen heading into the draft. It is really an excellent read. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/james-conner-pitt-letter-to-nfl-gms/

  15. Zook Hall. Memories. Did anyone ever have a class in the East Hall lecture hall? The lighting was very poor. I had a math class there taught by Dr. George L. Szoke who would start a petition around the room for better lighting. . . every class. This got to be a running joke. People started signing fake names to the petition like Oliver Closeoff, Betty Humpter, Peter Gozinya, etc. and it was pretty funny to read when it circulated around to you. Before long, people started making their own petitions and sending them around. Petitions like "Petition to get Dr. Szoke a new toupee" and what not. Not sure how this thread has gotten so far off track but it's been good for a couple of laughs.
