  2. Along with the incredibly important "Akron University" or "The University of Akron" concerns, I think we really need to make sure he knows Zippy is female. That's paramount. Those are the the top two concerns regarding Zips Football, if you ask me.

  3. As far as fun Zips-related reads in May go, that one will be tough to top.

  6. Hey, guess what? Only Until this game. Let the summer fly by! (I like how they used a soccer pic for this promo because students don't turn out for football games.)

  7. I might be a little concerned that you might be in the middle of the day. But, I think I'd like to hire you to write some advertising jingles for my company anyway.

  9. At least he correctly referred to us as University of Akron instead of Akron University.

  10. Dalton was here on his own dime. UA didn't pay for anything. He was a walk-on.

  11. That's nearly exactly what Sullivan did a couple of years ago. It worked out well for him. He played a year at Lakeland, scored 20 ppg, and then got his scholarship to a 4 yr. school and earned all-conference honors by the time he reached his Sr. year. I don't understand why someone was laughing about this route either. And let me add this, since were on the subject of "sub par recruiting". Dambrot nabbed Sullivan as a 2nd Team All-Ohio player in D-I , and he was even 3rd Team All-Ohio in Division 1 as a Junior. Again, just another reason why fans shouldn't base recruiting success on the accolades that someone had in High School. Everything can change at the next level. That's why we've had so many players do well here that didn't come in with high accolades. That's why asst. coaches are payed to evaluate players themselves, and don't recruit based on the number of high school honors awarded.

  12. Jerome did get very bad advice. But let's not forget that he is an adult and he made his own decisions. He now has to live with the consequences. My issue with him turning pro has always been that he did not have a pro's mentality. Let's face it, everybody in the NFL has great talent. Perhaps Jerome did too, but it is attitude that separates those who make it and those who don't. In that area he is deficient and that is the area that holds him back. I hope he returns to complete his degree and I wish him well in his next endeavor. This may be a good learning opportunity with much good to come from it.

  13. My God. Who gave Jerome the sage advice to leave early? Turrible.
