  6. He broke a bone in his left hand I believe, he had a red cast on yesterday at the Youth Summer Camp. John Groce joked about it to the campers saying they'd talk about that later.

  7. I think the chrome helmet fad jumped the shark. It was cool when Oregon did it first. It was okay when a handful of teams started using gold or chrome options. But when every team has worn a gold, chrome or super metallic helmet it's probably time to try something different. Personally I like the anodized satin gold helmet the Zips used last season. Probably my favorite helmet they've ever had.

  8. Based on the spring game, I am pretty excited about Dailey and King. Throw in the good things I've heard about Jamal Davis and hope that Bell has improved, as he had talent according to his offers.* Throw in another offseason of development for Gilbert as well. So we should definitely be better. 99.5% sure it isn't enough to beat Penn State, but should help enough for the rest of the schedule. *Assuming they are on the team.

  9. So he's going from a kangaroo to a Kangoeroe! That's actually got to be the coolest post-akron career move I've seen!

  12. IMO, there was only inarguably, one. I am not clairvoyant enough to know who the most talented teams are in the month of July. With a healthy Woodson and Ball, the Zips will be in the mix. Akron will win or lose the MAC in the month of November, and that is a long way off. Enjoy the weather. ?

  14. Johns started spring semester, the rest of new players reported in early June. Freshman have to live in dorms (they are in them already for summer stuff) & after your freshman year you can live in house just off campus. NCAA schollies have changed significantly, Freshman & players who live in dorm have all expenses covered for education, room & board & food plus a few hundred a month for other expenses. If you elect after your freshman year to live off campus you lose the room & board & food part of your schollie & instead of a few hundred a month for expenses you get a little over 1k a month for your expenses. Hope that answers your ? They did 3 weeks of conditioning & lifting in June. I don't think coaches are allowed to coach during this time but coach Sleeve & his group work them pretty hard & from my understanding the upperclassmen lead drills on the football field. They are in summer 1 classes, they were off the football grind last week & returned this week. This week is the last week of summer 1 classes. In August camp starts & it is an all day job. i know some of the local players from coaching in area and always ask a bunch of ?'s when I see them around.
