  1. @LZIp, I appreciate the compliment, but I'm no expert. Lol. I guess I just spend a little more time following some of the top local players than most. We missed on a really good LB from Barberton. His name is Keye Thompson (6-1, 210). He's a do everything player, kind reminds me of Julius Peppers. He's going to OU. William Collier is another player from East who is really good. I'd say he's 5-10, 200. He was the excellent backup RB to Todd Sibley at Hoban last year. Earlier this year I mentioned that I thought East RB Devanier Floyd had a good shot at being Ohio's Mr. Football. Well, Devanier is still the starting RB at East, but with Will transferring in, he also gets quite a few carries, so Davanier's numbers are more watered down this year than I thought they would be. Will is also a really good safety. Great all-around player. Two players from East to look for next year are... Kyre Williams, a 5-11, 180 Safety/Corner/WR. He's an athletic, quick, fast, slippery, athlete who East sometimes lines up @ the wildcat on O. Dearius Reese, 6-2, 275 DL. This guys excellent. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on landing him. McKinley's got a junior QB named Elijah Curtis who's been putting up impressive numbers, but he's only 5'9", so it's extremely unlikely we're looking at him for QB. 5'9" QB's who can play at the D-1 level are 1-in-a-million. He'd have to be the next coming of Drew Brees or Russell Wilson. I also like Jackson's QB, Jarret Polotta (sp?). He's got great size at 6'5" & can really throw the ball. Unfortunately he's verbally committed to UMass.

  3. Ignore all the polls for the entire year. They mean less than nothing as all they do is mislead people into thinking they have some significance when they don't. Instead, I suggest bookmarking your team's RPI worksheet which, if you understand it properly, will reveal your at-large and seeding prospects as November approaches. This is what you need: http://rpiupdatemenssoccer.blogspot.com/2017/08/akron.html You might also find this RPI bonus/penalty list useful (not entirely accurate but very close to accurate): http://gauchosoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/RPI_Bonuses.pdf

  6. Ahh Nate The Great.... I remember playing against him my freshmen year of high school in a passing scrimmage. Hell of an arm. He almost beat Michigan once too.

  11. I only watched the first quarter of the BSU/WMU game. In one set of downs they went 10 personnel (first down), 02 personnel (second down), and 11 personnel (third down). Defensive communication and substitutions will come into play for the Zips defensive unit. Press Conference Notes: • Kato gives you a wildcat look. • Come out of BG healthy other than WB. • Tommy made his own read on the TD run. • Called our offense blue collar. Need more big plays. Challenged the offensive players to come up with explosive plays. • 12 personnel will continue to be part of the offense. Our TEs look like RBs, not prototypical. We need them to catch more. • Brian Reinke had 7 pressures on the QB last week. We are getting close. • Deon'Tae Moore nursing an injury, and getting better. • Anthony Winbush leads the nation in sacks (7.5) and reminds coach of Dwight Freeney. • Justin Hall top freshman WR in nation. • We think we are getting better at running the ball. We were successful running the ball when BG knew we were going to run. • We worked hard on not holding. We had five holding calls against Troy.

  13. It's homecoming, our club level seats are sold out (lol), I'm feeling a nice performance from the Zips. We will beat the spread and create multiple turnovers. I do not have much confidence in us breaking the 100 yard mark in rushing, however. The 3 headed monster that WMU has at RB didn't break that amount by a whole lot.
