I saw that Matt Wilson was doing a giveaway to watch the game in his suite, with him for students. I really like this guy. He gets that his job is about students.2 points

To clarify, I hope we don't need those turnovers to make the difference this week.....or beyond.2 points

It was great seeing redshirt FRESHMAN Kato Nelson thoroughly outplay Rourke. Unless Rourke wanted to get a lot of experience holding a clipboard, it looks like he made the right choice in not coming to UA! How great is it knowing we're not going to have to worry about the QB position for THREE years?!!2 points

1) You can't lump in his tenure at Illinois. It's a completely different animal. 2) I'll take 2-3 .500 seasons if it means we get an NCAA Tournament win. 3) If there isn't program growth in 4 years, then I will consider looking for a new coach. However, Dambrot got 12 years or whatever it was, with zero NCAA Tournament wins. I'm willing to take the risk with the supposed "gigantic if". 4) So the suspensions of Quincy, Treadwell, Harney, Abreu - they never happened? Which by the way, with the national attention the Zips were getting in 2013, that Abreu suspension was doubly embarrassing to the program, university, and fan base, which was then followed up with an equally embarrassing 40 point loss to VCU in the NCAA Tournament.2 points

I'd be laughing hysterically if a fan of the team that was the beneficiary of a 167 to 19 margin in penalty yards was complaining that a bad call cost them the game.2 points

Would you believe...! (Get Smart!) I came on here, thinking I had misspelled the medical specialty of Dr Adachi, who works on my sinusitis and chronic bronchitis. Lo and behold, I actually got it the first time! Here's to me! This is a specialty that is I suspect is much more in demand in the rust belt. When I was a kid, I think 75% of the kids at East Liberty El suffered like I did! http://www.entnet.org/content/what-otolaryngologist1 point

But it does advertise that we have guys who can touch the scoreboard this year, which will be very intimidating to our opponents.1 point

We don’t have a Wolf 6’3” but Stewart is 6’2 & Burkhart 6’1 with a school record 39” vertical for a big catch zone1 point

Feel bad for Barberton. Just no match for Hoban, who seemed to have college size and athleticism at every position. That #20 for Hoban, Trayanum, was a beast and only a sophomore. Looks like he's already getting looks from atleast Michigan. I flipped over and watched the 4th of the Mentor/Iggy game. Really like Mentor's QB. Good leadership, high football IQ, great size, and can run the ball. Led two nice drives for a 4th quarter comeback win.1 point

You have the story right about Crawford, you're just missing a few facts about his son. He played at Barberton in High School, and then followed his dad to an Assistant job at Tulsa. Then when his dad got the Assistant job at Florida State, he transferred there. When I saw him play in high school, he was so gifted and smooth for his age. He was unusually tall for a guy who handled the ball and could play the point, and he scored plenty too. Tron was one of my favorites too. And another Barberton grad. Crawford used to say he had "intestinal fortitude". He was a tough guy. Fun to watch.1 point

What made it better was #65 is Lowery, a Tallmadge Ohio product....nice to see his "Homecoming" spoiled! Sorry ! Also, if you saw earier, IO had a slight altercation on my way in to parking deck with a Bobcatter....actually saw him AGAIN (with wifey in tow) grousing all the way to their car about how the refs cost them the game!!!!!!! Went on and on and on about the call at the goal line that overturned their TD...blah blah blah. I just smiled and resisted trying to give him his comupance.1 point

It's funny, because I know George reads these boards. It's almost as if he's trying to poke the loyal fans on Zipsnation. After reading his scribbles on OU, I won't even bother going forward. I'd rather read HustleBelt.1 point

Wow, 18 votes that we beat Kent by 8 or more. I think Kato gets the start, it's hard to find a reason for Woodson to play when we know the offense is more dynamic with Kato as the QB.1 point

I bleed blue and gold and I didn't go last Tuesday because two reasons: I figured we'd be blown out, and it was a Tuesday night when I have to be up at 5am the next day for work. I'm going Tuesday next week because 3 reasons: MAC East title is on the line, we should beat Kent, and work production on Wednesday before Thanksgiving is minimal.1 point

I agree with you guys, a big game in person is much better than on TV. I've gone to a lot more bad weather games where we've lost than where we've won. So if it's bad weather, a weekday game, and I work the next day...it's definitely going to be a factor in me going to the game. Sorry, but it is. There's nothing like being tortured both on the field, and with the weather, when you have to work the next day. But that's the unfortunate thing about the Zips fandom. None of us can afford to "take a day off" as it were, because then the stadium is effectively empty (well...more empty), unlike the bigger fanbases, if there is someone who doesn't go...there will be someone else to take their place. At any rate, I will be there Tuesday. And I am bringing 4-5 people. One is a Kent grad, but we can forgive her because she's my sister.1 point

Oh please, enough with the coded BS. "A move he never really wanted to make." If you know something different than what the general population knows (which if there is, I highly doubt it to be as big of an issue as some are making it out to be), then spill the beans. It isn't confidential information unless a NDA was signed by Keith for whatever reason...which I HIGHLY doubt.1 point

KD really must have some dirt on skip for as much as he has been going out of his way to defend the "Akron" guy who Akron wasn't good enough for.1 point

Every time I've gone to this page over the last month, and see this quote again from Mr. Toles, I keep wondering why those who keep pounding away at the long string of high-win seasons as "boring", "same old story", or "doesn't mean anything" haven't commented?1 point

Now Now. We hoped Rourke had a bad game in him this year, and fortunately that's what we got. Maybe we planned well and took the right things away from him. But, this guy has had a phenomenal Sophomore year. Rushed for almost 1,000, and passed for almost 2,000 so far this year. Frankly, I was scared of him. And unfortunately, we'll have to deal with him again. I hope you were being funny.0 points
