Hi guys. I'm an FAU person here. This is a really exciting matchup for me. When I was deciding on which college to go to, Akron and FAU were very high on my top college list. I fell in love with the Akron campus when I visited - it really does look beautiful. And you guys have some really awesome undergrads. I'm hoping this game will be a close one til the end. A nail biter would be awesome.3 points

Very sloppy game against an inferior opponent. Not much to learn about the Zips other than there is a lot of work left in front of them. I'm really happy to see Eubanks back, I didn't realize he broke his cheek. That is not a fun injury.2 points

Probably not a good sign for New Mexico that he had to Google to see what division they are.2 points

Your chances for a Taylor Made Jewelry mini basketball will be at an all-time high today NWAkron. Don't blow it!2 points

But Cykron, IMHO, has been a very gracious guest here...(and since he granted me the first official invite to ISU tailgate next year, it really isn’t kissing up)! BTW, saw your brother-in-law and KV last night at a HS b-ball game...2 points

And this is when we say, it's time to grow up. Have a little class. Hopefully you will have some class; and if Akron upsets FAU you'll come back and congratulate the Zips on their victory. And if Akron loses to FAU, you will come here and talk up the Zips and wish us well in the future. I have a feeling you won't. Because so far your comments have been, rather childish.2 points

Lolla was justified by his First Amendment right, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had egg on his face since, and it doesn't excuse the disrespect towards Akron behind the comment. I come from a thought process of beat the system, don't flee from it. Lolla fled. Porter beat it.2 points

As much as I agree with this, it does raise the question, "What team of any real quality, has FAU best this year?"1 point

Troy is demolishing Northern Texas right now, the team FAU beat twice this year. FAU beat them 69-31 and 41-17. Troy up 35-20 in the third. Troy narrowly survived us. Just thought it was interesting. Next best comparison is teams we played playing each other (even though it's like comparing apples and carrots).1 point

Yeah? Well a kangaroo would totally beat a owl if they would fight. Owls are just dumb. Good luck having comeback for that.1 point

I'm ok with keeping the JAR. However, all bleachers need to be replaced with chair backs. Additionally, the track needs to be removed and we need to have floor-to-rafters seating, maybe even some seating in the corners. The concourse needs redone as well. I like the idea of renovating the JAR if it's done properly. Arena uniqueness is fading across the sports landscape, with most new arenas using the same or similar blueprints. Not saying the JAR is a destination, iconic arena like Freedom Hall, Hinckley Fieldhouse, or Cameron Indoor, but it does have some classic characteristics. Lipstick on a pig? Maybe. But it isn't helpless.1 point

Doubtful you got all 15 in, the most any team could squeeze in would probably be 10. There was only 15 days between the day the game was announced and gameday. Kiffin did hold a couple practices before Thursday, but it wasn’t gameplan practices toward Akron. Because of finals it was tough for the team to squeeze any more practices in, and like the one poster above said it was also used to let the team get it’s legs back. Kiffin utilizes a little different practice schedule the team actually does it walk thru practice two days before game, and not typical day before. Then day before does a very uptempo practice. They also used used the last two weeks for very heavy recruiting. Most of the coaching staff has been on the road to get ready for early signing day. Since the bowl game is actually a de facto home game they are utilizing this weekend for official visits on campus. Hopefully this isn’t called “apologetic” just thought I would shed some light on everything.1 point

Am I understanding correctly that the laws that were just reversed were put into place in 2015? If so the internet was fine before net neutrality1 point

I think coaches are trying to figure out early signing day and how to approach it. Bowden has said a couple of times that he anticipates that some kids who were holding out hopes for P5 offers will be more willing to talk with G5 schools after early signing day or perhaps as it approaches. I'd love to see us ink some of the kids on that ESPN list.1 point

You ever been to Florida and seen the outfits? I don't think that rule applies down there1 point

QB Swift Lyle from Mobile, AL is rated four stars on ESPN now. Here is ESPN's list of uncommitted players reporting interest from Akron.1 point

I was thinking the same thing. As of today, Akron Football is preparing for a bowl game and it appears our key recruits are Tweeting that they'll be early signees. Kent hasn't played or practiced since we beat them a 3 weeks ago, and has no coach. Word on the street is Otterbein and Muskingum are poaching their recruits.1 point
