  1. Wow, that was a rough one but worth staying up to watch. Happy for the Zips... especially for Diogo Pacheco. Need to clean up some things, but faced with adversity, these guys continued to grind it out for a good win on the road.

  4. Zip_ME87...thanks for taking the time...to look up the RPI ranks... the Syracuse game is going to be huge for the zips... Syracuse....plays Va. Tech (#9 RPI) on Friday night before playing the zips If Syracuse beats VA Tech on Friday...., they will be even higher in the RPI. After playing the zips, syracuse next plays Wake Forest... Zips really can move up with a good result against syracuse...I am surprised that Syracuse-VA Tech is not listed in article below (the rankings shown are top drawer poll rankings...not rpi) the surprise team of the MAC is listed in article below... https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/mens-weekend-preview:-sept-28-30_aid44996 No. 24 Northern Illinois (7-2) at No. 11 Portland, 10 p.m. (wccsports.com) One of the breakout teams of the current season, NIU has already well-exceeded last fall’s win total of three. Timely goals have been a big part of the team’s record to this point, with Jan Maertins and Anthony Markanich each snagging two game winners apiece. A trip to the Pacific Northwest for a Friday night clash against the Pilots is a massive test of NIU’s staying power. Benji Michel’s profile and potential pro prospects are growing leading the line for Portland. He has eight goals in nine games, including five winners – it’s difficult to understate his importance to the team. Senior Kienan Weekes' contributions between the posts, in his first season as a starter, have also been important. Prediction: Portland 2-0 Northern Illinois

  6. B & G, I was one of the guys who last season felt Milwee was not up to calling a good game. I have said though on a previous post that his play calling is not holding the team back. It is not an issue with me. Last year it certainly was. I think he has grown and does an adequate job. Having better talent helps the situation. I hope Milwee continues to grow into the position. Regarding Van Edwards I concur that he is a reliable back who hits the hole hard, has good speed, doesn't fumble but has no top end breakaway speed and can't make a tackler miss. Until we have a better back I give the position to him. I like our young stable of backs, but they have to beat him out to earn the spot. I've said this before, but want to say it again .... kudos to TB and staff for bringing in the talent we now have. It's great to have depth and ability.

  11. https://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/2018/9/17/17865686/darlington-nagbe-miguel-almiron-tata-martino It was a trademark Nagbe performance. Fly under the radar, do the simple things brilliantly, and affect the game like few in MLS can. His contributions to keeping possession and being a calming influence was obvious to see from the opening kickoff and Atlanta cruised to their most dominating performance in a while.
