  1. I'd go home-and-home with YSU if that's what it took to get the rivalry going. A 48 mile road trip every other year? Hit the restaurants and/or casino on the way back. Sign me up.

  2. I was going to mention this with D'Andre Bulley's commitment. We've landed a couple of guys early in the recruiting cycle who have offers from P-5 schools. I like that. It seems like in the past when we've landed guys with P-5 offers, it's been very late in the recruiting cycle & we've wondered if the P-5 schools had backed off on them & encouraged them to look elsewhere. Pure speculation, but none-the-less, I like that we're landing players w/ P-5 offers before the season's even begun.

  3. #Blessed isn't articulate and thoughtful enough for you? Interestingly enough, looking at Rosser's Twitter, it looks like we've offered at least one or two of his buddies as well. I'm noticing some serious changes to our recruiting, mainly the level we connect with this younger generation better via social media and advertising. Zip Drip - something I don't particularly understand, even being 24 - is big with these younger guys, the graphics look much improved, and I think there's more emphasis on making recruits feel good about themselves in Akron gear when they come on visits. It's great to see us beating out other schools at or above our caliber. Keep it up Arth & staff!

  4. His donations are one thing, but the meteoric rise of LeafFilter looks good for Akron as a whole. It has great company reviews when it comes to its employees. Him in the public eye with the football team and University as a whole is a positive for a school with quite a few black eyes in recent years.

  6. The easiest nonconference schedules for Power 5 teams in 2019 according to Chris Low, a ESPN Senior Staff Writer. #3. Illinois Schedule: Aug. 31 vs. Akron, Sept. 7 at UConn, Sept. 14 vs. Eastern Michigan In his fourth season as Illinois' head coach, Lovie Smith could really use a good start to 2019, and the schedule is tailor-made for positivity. The Fighting Illini have yet to win more than four games in a season on Smith's watch, and any chance to get to a bowl game this year will most certainly hinge on going 3-0 in their nonconference games before Nebraska comes to town on Sept. 21. The only road trip is to UConn, which went 1-11 last season. Make 'em pay Zips! ?

  9. Speaking of the roster, I've updated the chart (except for assumed walk-ons) based on everything we know and it seems like we have 4 open scholly's. The program now announcing walk ons that get put on scholarship (see Muldowney and Boogie - though I/we already guessed that was going to happen) makes this a little easier and more accurate. I hope there are some transfers with immediate eligibility in the pipeline to supplement holes on this year's team. Note - Wooldridge is on here for now as he is still listed on the roster. 94zipgrad may know something we don't, though. I finally got around to updating the colors on it as well ?
