  1. Enrique Freeman: MAC POY?! ? “Updated MAC basketball statistics on a Sunday morning. Zips Enrique Freeman: #1 in FG %..#1 in rebounding...#1 in blocked shots...#1 in defensive rebounding. Not bad for a walk on!” -Joe Dunn (via Twitter)

  2. Agree that it is time to turn the page. 'we have some young good QB;s that someone needs to step up. We also have a JUCO. Let them compete and pick the best. The problem is that we will probably lose 2 of the young QBS to the transfer portal when they lose out for the job.

  4. On a Saturday when coincidentally all bottom three MAC women's teams threatened upsets, only the Zips hold on pull out an 89-84 win in OT at Muncie. Key was a 29-12 3Q to take the lead. ?

  5. In the running for D POY. Wouldn't that be something?

  6. All those women’s sports aren’t going to pay for themselves (or attend football games for that matter).

  7. Kato's had maybe 4-5 legitimately good halves as an Akron QB. It's time to turn the page.

  8. I trust the staff to find the best person for the job too. Gibson is no answer unless he improves significantly. Kato will have to be the best version of himself to win the job. He will have to be committed to competition. That is something he has shown little appetite for in the past. Yet the talent we have coming in and Maroucek (sp?) may give us the upgrade we must have to even win three games. We will go no further than the QB position takes us. That is priority # 1.

  10. If you turn off the sound and just watch the video, it is the walk on highlight reel. The BEST was the block where he comes up with the ball. He has some reactions.

  11. I’m watching the replay and the announcing sounds like two guys having a conversation over a couple beers while there happens to be a game going on in the background.

  12. I believe Dakich and Senderoff have personal history back to Indiana, for better or worse ... Dakich talking about the old MAC days was his way of saying 'I used to coach here' ... as noted earlier, there was absolutely no mention of Freeman and the fact he limited Pippen's impact in BOTH games. Calling out Pippen w/o mentioning Freeman was a disservice to both players. Freeman's walk-on story to starter for a MAC title contender is a great one. Pippen's return from 3 knee surgeries in 3 years is another. Dakich didn't tell those story lines. There's a way to lift both players as opposed to calling out one. Not talking about Freeman made his rips on the other guy look insightful, but he was not telling the full story. In one breath Dakich wants to see a 'team' player, in the other he expects one player to carry the whole load. -- Just think if the game was reversed how he might have talked about LCJ? (BTW, didn't Pippen lead them in scoring, rebounding and assists, even with the stellar game from Freeman)? I know it's Covid, but this was going on even before the Pandemic. Announcers calling the game from their basements are no different than fans doing the same. Let's get some professionals back.

  13. Thanks for the reminder of why I don't enjoy talking about this team anymore. This is a terrible ooc schedule. Two destruction games. I had no idea Bryant even had a team. Temple is one of the least interesting teams in college football.
