I'm watching on my IPad. Perhaps try a tablet or maybe your phone.
-
Ivey starting over Williams...About time.
-
Btw the stream on wccsports.com is way better than that college insiders.
-
Well boys gametime is here...

Laziness has nothing to do with it. Apathy is the problem. In their minds there are countless better ways of spending their time over watching some basketball team that isn't good enough to get its highlights shown on Sportscenter.
-
Poke would get murdered playing the C position with the size and mass Gonzaga has in its front court. Unless desperate I'd be shocked to see him playing there.
-
This got me thinking Akron hasn't made something like 16 straight tournaments, hasn't made an Elite 8, and has never had a top 10 rating. Quit trying to compare apples to oranges. If you want what Gonzaga has, we need to become nationally relevant. At said point not only will students make it more of a priority to show up, but so will Joe Akron.

I was going to say I thought Root was a regional broadcast similar to like Fox Sports Ohio or Fox Sports Detroit. What airs on the one station, with the rare exception (excluding the filler content), doesn't air on the other. In this case Root Sports Pittsburgh will be airing the Penguins game at the same time Root Sports Northwest is airing the Gonzaga/Akron game.

Minutes will certainly be available to him at the 4 if he can bulk up some. We don't really have a successor for Kwan.

So I went up to Akron and met up with some friends with the intention of us all going to the game. Needless to say we got to BS'ing, lost track of time, and didn't actually make it to the game. Out of curiosity what was the penalty, if any, for the TP throw?

Zags fans seem to have respect for Akron. http://guboards.spokesmanreview.com/forumdisplay.php?2-Men-s-Basketball

It is being broadcasted on a regional sports channel in the PNW. It doesn't sound like we will be able to watch in NEO.

The Zips head into a match-up vs. 9-0 Gonzaga. They are coming in fresh off a beat down of in state rival Washington and already have wins over Florida, Iowa State, and Arizona on this young season. Just staying in the game will be a tough task for the Zips. They need a near flawless game to spring the upset.

Dambrot also now 4 wins away from become Akron's all-time winning-est coach. The next 5 home opponents are: * Marshall * Bowling Green * Western Michigan * Ohio * Eastern Michigan 3 of the 5 look like pretty good mid-majors this year so that 26 win total will be challenging to eclipse. http://www.gozips.com/sports/mbkb/2016-17/releases/20161206txgtux

What I find great is the fact the Zips are marketing 9 MAC games for $60. I paid $60 for the entire season. At least the Zips ticket office is acknowledging that our home OOC games are worthless...

Easy, All-MAC teams are determined solely by statistic accumulation. It's not based off a players talent or potential talent like draft grades are. The best receiver in the world will put up garbage numbers if he doesn't have a QB that can deliver him the ball somewhat accurately. IDK how accurate him being ranked 12th best is, but if it is that translates to a 3rd or 4th round pick.
-
It is conceivably possible that the MAC gets an at-large bid unlike it being near impossible for them making a 4 team playoff. The MAC just doesn't have a Gonzaga or Wichita State anchoring it. We don't even have a Saint Mary's. A 27-28 win MAC team that beat 2 ranked opponents OOC would look attractive. The problem is we haven't had a team do it.

I just love how ambiguous some of the things are. What exact perks does "UA Alumni Night" entail? What are they giving away for "Student Appreciation Night"? Also, what is "Girls and Women in Sports Day"? There are others as well. Edit: "National Bobblehead Day" - I assume this means they are giving out bobbleheads. It would be nice if they would just say of who.

Thanks Wadszip! This was the kind of detailed post that I was looking for. I particularly liked how you broke out how many FBS players are from different counties. I knew Summit County was better than Stark County, but these numbers actually put it into perspective of just how much better it is.

Noticed the Zips finally posted the full promotional schedule. http://www.gozips.com/tickets/promotions_basketball_2016-17

I thought the University was going to use it to help cut the $20M budget shortfall?
-
Yeah, I'm all for getting the discussion flowing. IDK the case about Buchtel, but McKinley has a significantly larger enrollment and kind of was spending a good amount of resources on athletics developing players before it become a more mainstream thing to do. Also, it was pretty commonplace in the 90s for Stark County families to relocate to the McKinley school district so their kid could be seen by recruiters. If all these East players come and contribute, I'll be thrilled. I'm just hesitant if we are trying to dig too deep into the Akron well for players that we are missing out on other players that are an hour or 2 away and will find their way onto a Kent, Toledo, or OU rosters.

I'm no expert, but can someone explain to me how an 8-4 D3 team has so many FBS players? I've been following D3 playoffs for years and the best of the best teams have maybe 2 players with FBS offers. Louisville made the state championship game in D3 with only 1 player going on to play FBS football. I'm all for scooping up the best of the best in the area, but there are only so many FBS players in Akron. Are we perhaps missing out on kids in Cleveland, Youngstown, Cincy, Columbus, etc. because we've become overly committed to offering local guys? EDIT: To be fair I haven't seen East play this year so maybe they are just that stacked. If that's the case how didn't they win state?
