  1. Fear of backlash?
  2. Unfortunately, it is beginning to get dicey. Come on, Zips. Don't fold. This is still within reach.
  3. Wasn't our first time at that rodeo. We need a Nate Linhart.
  4. Certainly was incredibly disappointing as I'm sure it was for the players, staff, and folks who traveled to Hawaii. I appreciate "1981s" comments above. This is dime-store psychology but keeping a team unified and in control during a transition season has to be incredibly hard. My fear would be that if we have more of these type of losses and get chewed up by Buffalo and Kent that some of the players will get really discouraged and want to bolt. What Groce and his staff are doing with focusing on the team, cohesion, and unity hopefully will pay dividends as they face further adversity. We faced a huge challenge this year no matter who the coach was. I like a lot of what I see and while I'm excited for MAC play I'm curious as to how our team stands up against our rivals. With the prior coach and players, we sort of knew how the games would turn out. This year...who knows. I'm thinking ahead to the Eastern Michigan game and their zone and James Thompson IV and what a challenge that is going to be for these guys.
  5. A couple of touchy fouls on EMan, some bad possessions by KLac, left us with not much.
  6. Amazing how things can go so wrong so fast for this team. What a nightmare this week has been for the Zips.
  7. Really like this team but something is definitely missing. I know...firm grasp of the obvious.
  8. Deja Vu of the Dayton game.
  9. Now THAT was targeting!
  10. Nice slam by Sayles
  11. Hmm. Just saw Frenchie and a really bad missed call by the officials. Do you see those women behind the MTSU bench obnoxiously trying to coach the team.
  12. I know USC stands for University of Spoiled Children.
  13. Must See TV tomorrow night. Thanks, Clark...have a happy Christmas. I hope you get that Christmas bonus and that your in-laws don't show up unannounced in a Winnebago. Oh, and I hope there isn't a squirrel living in your Christmas tree.
  14. What will happen is that Fleck will be only average at Minnesota and then return to the MAC to coach Akron. Sort of like Groce in basketball
  15. Excellent post. You and I are polar opposites on Bowden, but we certainly want to the same things. What if we were to lock him into a 3 year extension and then next year we have all the same problems and end up 6-6? I don't want to see the university giving him a $1.2 million (2 years salary?) Golden parachute as opposed to letting him go now or just letting him finish his contract.
  16. good point, but i'm looking at that game being the capstone of a body of work with Bowden.
  17. This isn't in the holiday spirit, but I'm going to throw it down here and say that this Bowl Game was an absolute f'ing embarrassment for our school and program. Someone's head should roll for this. 50 to 3? He should have been fired at f'ing halftime. I know I will get replies that i'm "stupid" and "ridiculous" because some how we lucked into winning the MAC East. Really? That's all you got? Yes we had injuries, yes we had other problems but in the end Bowden had an undisciplined team and a starting QB who wasn't motivated enough to stay out of trouble to finish his season. I 100% support the players, but are they really going to be that upset with has-been Bowden leaving and being replaced with a young, energetic coach.
  18. Maybe let him finish out next year and be looking? The Flushes disaster of a coaching search may have have caused some angst. But what the hell do I know? Not much.
  19. Yeah. You only have to look at the reaction of the cheerleaders and the pretty blonde...they even saw it as a targeting!
  20. OMG will someone please fly to Honolulu and figure this out! Obviously, Z.I.P. needs to be taken off the case
  21. The walk on is on the roster.
  22. As witnessed im the last game, Ivey #0 certainly threw some shade at Cotton, and Cotton, the star of his high school team last year, didn't take too kindly to that. Thank you Z.I.P. for the awesome insight.
  23. Yes. No matter what he might have said it's incredibly low rent to take revenge by humiliating the other team's players. And then sowing discord by making that statement.
  24. Hmm. We elected someone who does the same thing and worse. The America we live in now. This childish behavior is rewarded now. And, yes, his son learned a nice lesson.
