  1. isn't it too late to red shirt a player?
  2. You look at the back court, and we certainly don't look like a bottom-feeder team with Ivey, Utomi, and Malcolm. However, after that there is inconsistency and just no inside game. The team with Big Dog (at least according to Dambrot) could destroy the zone I think primarily because of Big Dog. Tonight, Patton had a good put up, miss, rebound and basket, and I thought to myself "good luck getting that against Buffalo." We can pick off a few MAC teams here and there when the Big Three get hot from 3 other than that it's going to be ugly I fear.
  3. I think it's time for Concord to break out the Zone.
  4. Is that Jimond's brother trying to coach the team from the family section and flashing his abs at the same time?
  5. Waiting for someone to puke.
  6. Oh my...a new player #14. Where's Cotton? He's in street clothes. Injury?
  7. Wow. Sounds like a rough holiday season at your place. How big a pot do you need for the entire family? Or do you do it one at a time? Mother in law first? Brining is a process similar to marination in which meat is soaked in brine before cooking. Salt is added to cold water in a container, where the meat is soaked anywhere from 30 minutes to a few days.
  8. Ugh. I'm going. Of course, when our first two conference games are away we won't notice our band being absent.
  9. Excitement is building. I'm looking forward to some strategic time outs and some assistant coaches coaching.
  10. Live on the edge, Clark, and make a decision! Vote!
  11. The Adrian Barbeaus...ugh. I think the "Yo Adrians" would be much better.
  12. First two MAC games are on the road. Then we have a home stretch followed by a tough trip to Muncie and then off to that dark pit known as Millett Hall. We rather knew (and sometimes afraid to admit) during the Dambrot era how these games would turn out, but it's all different this year.
  13. I like their mascot. The excitement is building.
  14. Yeah. Cotton started to remind me of Noah when he just dribbled into oblivion or that Ohio guard Simmons who dribbled out the final moments against Kent.
  15. Not all freshmen are equal. Would you prefer he said "inexperienced" players? You have Utomi, Ivey, and Duvivier and a bunch of really inexperienced guys. That's what he could cobble together.
  16. Financially, UA couldn't pay him out and then hire someone else and pay him more. So I get why they settled in and extended his contract.
  17. There may have been good reason I've was chewing out Cotton a few games ago. Total screw up to end the half.
  18. Fear of backlash?
  19. Unfortunately, it is beginning to get dicey. Come on, Zips. Don't fold. This is still within reach.
  20. Wasn't our first time at that rodeo. We need a Nate Linhart.
  21. Certainly was incredibly disappointing as I'm sure it was for the players, staff, and folks who traveled to Hawaii. I appreciate "1981s" comments above. This is dime-store psychology but keeping a team unified and in control during a transition season has to be incredibly hard. My fear would be that if we have more of these type of losses and get chewed up by Buffalo and Kent that some of the players will get really discouraged and want to bolt. What Groce and his staff are doing with focusing on the team, cohesion, and unity hopefully will pay dividends as they face further adversity. We faced a huge challenge this year no matter who the coach was. I like a lot of what I see and while I'm excited for MAC play I'm curious as to how our team stands up against our rivals. With the prior coach and players, we sort of knew how the games would turn out. This year...who knows. I'm thinking ahead to the Eastern Michigan game and their zone and James Thompson IV and what a challenge that is going to be for these guys.
  22. A couple of touchy fouls on EMan, some bad possessions by KLac, left us with not much.
  23. Amazing how things can go so wrong so fast for this team. What a nightmare this week has been for the Zips.
