  1. So Tavari makes bad shot choice, misses, NIU scores at other end.
  2. Ugh. Without X this is going to be ugly.
  3. This is like a Ypsilanti crowd.
  4. So much excitement for the reigning MAC champions.
  5. Tavari played a lot of hero ball in Peoria. He may have been told to dial it back.
  6. Omg. I was thinking the EXACT same thing.
  7. And great steal and dunk.
  8. They double and triple Freeman or anyone else under basket. Have to make miracle shots. No expectations but I can't see this team winning on the road anywhere.
  9. This isn't fun to watch... Zips are going to get smoked in MAC play.
  10. Some nice 3s and then a bunch of bricks.
  11. with the mask, hair cut, and weight gain I didn't recognize him. He made a lay up from a good assist and missed two open 3s. He certainly wasn't dynamic on the floor. Was fun watching Providence. I would pick them for a few rounds in my bracket come March.
  12. EDIT. I'm still recovering from the t-shirt cannon incident and once again got my info wrong. 4 home games in January. Moving on...
  13. I will be there as the Zips finish this uneventful and uninspiring pre-season run. I find the scheduling for this year tedious and frustrating. EDIT. On a side note, Butler at home is down 28 points at half to Providence. Haven't seen Ali Ali.
  14. See WMU the JAR 2022.
  15. 3 of those first 4 away games are against bad teams, although I think WMU can be dangerous. Perfect opportunity for Zips to lock down some road wins and gain confidence.
  16. Good topic for a snowy day. East Mogadore Tech has ALL the motivation to exact revenge on the Zips and the MAC.
  17. Zips need to pull it together and toughen up for sure. However, if they were experiencing this awful storm and wondering how in the world they were going to get home or make their planes in Chicago, I'm willing to give them a mulligan on this game.
  18. Clarke isn't going to be the one and while everyone loves Dawson's physicality and enthusiasm he did not produce on offense until near the end of the season. he was also part of the sucky run in Florida and the the trifecta back to back losses to KSU, WMU, and NIU.
  19. Winning in March needs some luck like Segu's missed 3 in the quarters last year. This game seemed like an odd scheduling and was ripe for a total flop. i'm with the guy who said "burn the tape." But there needs to be another scorer. I think Hank and Hunter can do it. Note that X is currently the highest scorer in the MAC. That's great but last year's top scorer played for WMU and CMU had a top scorer in a down year. What that means is that the other players on the team aren't performing like they should.
  20. Groce, "Does not bode well for league play." "way too much hero ball." "taken to the woodshed" "soft" etc.
  21. ASU was the 25th ranked team and lost by 37. Stuff happens.
  22. On a good note, Bobby Hurley was ejected once again. But I think he enjoys that. Part of his brand.
  23. stuck with these guys: The transfer windows, which will go into effect in time for the 2022-23 season, will allow 60 days per year for athletes to enter the portal and maintain immediate eligibility for first-time transfers. For fall sports like football, the period will be split into two periods. The first, a 45-day period, will start the day after championship selections are made. A second window will be instituted from May 1-15 so players can enter the transfer portal after spring camp. Spring sports, like basketball, would effectively have a reverse calendar; the first window lasting from Dec. 1-15 and the second being a 45-day window that starts the day after championship selections. For winter sports, the 60-day transfer window would be a continuous period that begins the day after championship selection.
  24. yeah, there's something about his affect and demeanor as well. Groce brought in a few duds.
