  1. If you look back on some clips of the 2019-2020 season the crowd was sparse as usual for many of MAC game. the final few games against Ohio and Kent were really crowded. There were a decent amount of OU fans there yesterday, including their former guard, Tommy Schmock, who clearly likes his beer. I don't much care about Joe Akron. but I do know the fans who are at these games love this team and the coaching staff.
  2. Whatever happens this week, it's so "nice" or whatever adjective to have Groce and his staff on the bench and even better that they don't need the likes of Carry, Payton and a washed-up Jim Christian to succeed. Side note. This is crazy...Tribble was here with Jeremy Roscoe...and is only a junior.
  3. Probably second year. During the empty gym year, they won a tournament game.
  4. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn-xfI1sKVm/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= freeman and hankerson. High level character.
  5. Tell that to Kitten Attack. Calling for Boals' head. I thought his team played really well today
  6. OMG. What an ending to the Central/Western game. Great crowd in Mt Pleasant. Incredible comeback. Some missed FTs from Norman sunk WMU. Sold out rivalry game between teams with 13 wins total.
  7. Cardinals flying into the Bermuda Triangle today. I thought NIU was on a roll but it's the MAC.
  8. Clayton. Go figure.
  9. Clayton for OU doing some damage. Until he got greedy with that quick 3 attempt
  10. Saw that run coming. Zips missed a few chances to blow it open. They got tight.
  11. Feel a little better about things right now. Well, at least until they started playing Sweet Caroline. Barf.
  12. Boals stares down that ref a good minute. Will need an escort to his car.
  13. Groce keeping legs fresh.
  14. Long afternoon ahead of us. Defense left the building again.
  15. In the meantime, hopefully the Zips are remaining focused on the task at hand today and Tuesday
  16. @LoyalZip would have a better take. I see how Kent wins. They hustle and have hands everywhere. If the opponent isn't disciplined and focused, the game could easily get away from them. But Kent throws up a lot of shots and a lot of misses...at least last night. I think Freeman is going to have a lot of trouble. That being said...Kent certainly wasn't this amazing team circa Buffalo 2018-19. Side note: it was apparently Pajama Bottom night at the MAC Center. Nothing but Klass with a capital "K" in Ravenna.
  17. For some reason, I feel better after watching that mess of a game last night.
  18. Payton is on a level of obnoxious even Carry cannot reach. These guys are the worst. Buffalo doesn't have the discipline to contend with them. Buffalo's bad FT shooting bit them. Flashes have their hands everywhere. Unnerving. Can see how they throw off and frustrate opponents into taking bad shots.
  19. this was at the end of the game. Zips up 63-58 or something. about 55 seconds left and everyone was like...yeah we got this. The way it was going, Groce wasn't so sure.
  20. Same here. I guess we are awaiting Cleveland, and with NIU's win the other night and Carry taking an early victory lap maybe all the fan bases in the top half are wondering what will happen in March.
  21. I like this snapshot in time. I think this is after X made a 3 to go up 5 with 53 secs left. Everyone looks happy but Groce. I was still nervous as well.
  22. my original post wasn't a criticism, merely a point of interest. And, frankly, the board's been kind of dead as we await the Nelsonville Calicos arrival in the Rubber City. BTW: Kitten Attack still somewhat obsessed with Groce.
  23. Sorry this is OT but I can't find a thread for this and it's somewhat related to coaches. This is a guy Guthrie hired at Green Bay with basically no experience other than a famous dad. He drove the program into the ground: (Guthrie has a Tom Arth style hire in his past) https://apnews.com/article/sports-transactions-will-ryan-bo-green-bay-8de78a3996a5e063ef4224b6fb7df996
  24. Very, very tough stretch of basketball coming up for the Zips: Ohio, @Buffalo, Ravenna, Toledo, Ohio. Zips won the games they should and had an understandable, short-handed loss in Muncie. Going 4-1 in this stretch would be my highest expectations. 3-2 is more realistic.
