  1. East Mogadore had a 7 footer who sat on the bench for a few years. That white kid from Richfield played a lot more than he did. If Groce let him go, that had to be difficult but there's no room for sentiment. We can see what a twisted, cruel business NCAA basketball is. Calamari makes 8 mill per year (?) And loses to a coaches that makes $220,000 (?). That coach is now gone and where will the Peacocks be next year. The key is keeping Groce and building a solid program that isn't a flash in the pan. (Stating obvious)
  2. We don't have any control over it, so we might as well look at it in a positive way. Reminds me of the panic when KD left. It all worked out. On my own private list, Aziz was the first I thought should go. As for Ali, that certainly is a loss in that he produced a lot of points. But he is replaceable.
  3. I agree with you. Groce and Company likely have memory of those they went after before and missed and wait for them to pop up in the portal. But the players (who go voluntarily) need to take a hard look at the competition awaiting them once they decide to fly on their own.
  4. All I know is that he didn't play more than a few minutes in any of the important games. I think there was high hopes for him with Groce and staff with the idea of playing him and Freeman at the same time. I know he and Freeman were friends and Freeman tried to bring him along, but I don't see him as an asset to the program. But great minds will differ. Edit: I will await @clarkwgriswoldand @Captain Kangaroo opinions.
  5. yes, being able to win the jump ball isn't much of a selling point these days.
  6. Why? He was a liability when he was in the game. I don't know how they were going to take his game to the next level by November 2022.
  7. I'm with you on this one. There's a reason those fine young men from East Mogadore JUCO called him out in that video.
  8. I guess you got 1/3 of your wish. Actually, 2/3 of your wish.
  9. If this were Freeman, I would be very upset for a number of reasons. Ali Ali isn't a super star. He's a solid MAC player. Dead to me now
  10. He's believing his own press. Zips will be fine.
  11. @clarkwgriswoldis this the "pick and roll" you go on and on about and never see?
  12. https://overthepylon.boards.net/thread/4561/buffalo-meltdown interesting thread from Muncie regarding Buffalo. Remember, Segu's 3 pointer is a little to the right and ... well, I don't want to think about it.
  13. Buffalo in Oats' last year.
  14. that's some bad karma. no way.
  15. Sekou Kalle in the transfer portal. So it begins.
  16. the transfer portal is oddly quiet for MAC teams. Apart from the Ball State exodus, no notable players are leaving their programs. And I don't see any openings for the Zips.
  17. Despite being a bunch of low lifes from the coach on down, East Mogadore JUCO doesn't seem to receive the enmity the Zips get from other schools teams and fan bases. Never understood that.
  18. Toledo on track to the NIT final four.
  19. that was an incredibly lame foul called on Kansas. That Friar was not shooting.
  20. For our friends in Muncie, their long national nightmare is over. And a new one begins.
  21. Our friends in Muncie are hilarious: https://overthepylon.boards.net/thread/4540/new-coach-hired
  22. I would now refer to the Dambrot years as the Gilded Age and Groce era as the Golden Age.
  23. @LoyalZIP. Who is the ref that was officiating the BG game when Jayden Sales too the terrible fall? Was that Buddy? I thought it was the ref from the recent UCLA game who did the BG game.
