  1. that's some bad karma. no way.
  2. Sekou Kalle in the transfer portal. So it begins.
  3. the transfer portal is oddly quiet for MAC teams. Apart from the Ball State exodus, no notable players are leaving their programs. And I don't see any openings for the Zips.
  4. Despite being a bunch of low lifes from the coach on down, East Mogadore JUCO doesn't seem to receive the enmity the Zips get from other schools teams and fan bases. Never understood that.
  5. Toledo on track to the NIT final four.
  6. that was an incredibly lame foul called on Kansas. That Friar was not shooting.
  7. For our friends in Muncie, their long national nightmare is over. And a new one begins.
  8. Our friends in Muncie are hilarious: https://overthepylon.boards.net/thread/4540/new-coach-hired
  9. I would now refer to the Dambrot years as the Gilded Age and Groce era as the Golden Age.
  10. @LoyalZIP. Who is the ref that was officiating the BG game when Jayden Sales too the terrible fall? Was that Buddy? I thought it was the ref from the recent UCLA game who did the BG game.
  11. I haven't gotten around to it. That's all.
  12. I am but haven't re-upped for this season.
  13. I thought this game was an inflection point. Notice Trimble didn't make ANY of the final shots. Also, if you look at the thread you can see some, especially @clarkwgriswold talking about how it was good to limit Trimble's minutes.
  14. unfortunate for him and his staff. He came in the same year Groce did? He's had so many good players and no results. Whitford, though, at Ball State was so bad this year. In the q-final game against Ohio, his team was so undisciplined. they would start to catch up and then run down and shoot a quick 3 and miss. There must be a critical mass that occurs on the team's message board that can correlate with a firing except for BG, of course.
  15. The Lady Rockets are the last team standing.
  16. Like a Hallmark Christmas movie.
  17. sorry, i phrased that poorly. Also, in the "life comes at you hard" category: Steve Hawkins to small-town Illinois https://www.quincy.edu/quincy-university-announces-new-mens-basketball-coach/
  18. I never said he was a man of high character. Clearly, he isn't. However, I thought BG overreacted when they fired him. They could have taken some remedial steps. But the Zips are fortunate Huger is still at at the helm.
  19. Chris Jans to Mississippi State. Take heart, BG fans, once he found success with you he would have dumped you faster than you dumped him.
  20. Zips need a stretch 4 (i had to google that) like Jeremy Harris.
  21. And the East bracket is now wide open. Ugh...Zips could have been in the Final Four!!
  22. Have u ever driven the PA turnpike? I'm flying
  23. Oh, for Pete's sake. Segus 3 goes in your would be watching East Mogadore Jr College and Sincere becoming the darlings of the media.
  24. @LoyalZIPmade the great point about how hard it is to repeat. Groce and company know they can't put the same team on the floor next year and expect the same results. And frankly, they shouldn't want the same results. I did a quick look at the Zips schedule and focused on their highest scoring games such as Marshall, BG, Toledo, Southern and Ball State (1). In those 5 games Bryan Trimble was on. Yes, there were a couple games post Trimble that were higher scoring but the Zips game plan against UCLA and going through the tournament was grind it out and keep it close. Keeping those power 5 teams close is a risky business and UTC and Akron paid for it. My gut, which has been spot on this year, was thinking that St. Mary's, who is used to playing Gonzaga, was going to run all over the Zips. Zips need another shooting guard and a power forward to back up Freeman. Havoc defense with transition offense and watch the JAR explode.
