  1. You want some entertainment for $10 and you can park for free? Come to the Stile Athletics Fieldhouse tonight and watch YOUR Zippies - MAC Champions by the way - track and field team battle it out against the Flushes in the Wagon Wheel Challenge parts 5 and 6! Starts at 7! Or like a lot of you on this forum, you can catch it for free on ESPN3 (but come, really...)
  2. Back when KD was coaching, I had business in Wheaton IL and had a day to kill so I called coach Peters and he put me on the gate pass list, and i drove out to watch the game and spend the night. I can echo your descriptions. I also stayed in one of the strangest Comfort Inn's right off the interstate at the DeKalb exit I have ever been in, and it seemed to be designed the same as the basketball arena!
  3. I have been amazed he's still there. Saw some epic meltdowns by him over the years....
  4. Good thing you were in concession stand dude. 32 to 30 Mayfield??? Hope you had coffee to sell to keep everyone awake!
  5. Bowling Green at 6-0 only hope for an undefeated MAC slate, they've won 10 in a row....anyone think they can run the table?
  6. Forgot to add - the meet is going to be televised on ESPN3! Hope it’s not Reghi?
  7. Looks like everyone made the best of it! Agreed with LZIp...kewl pics!
  8. Living in Massillon, they got hit harder than just north on campus. Plus Clark, Jackson are the Polar Bears, so what’s not to love about a visit yesterday?
  9. Last year’s Indoor season was rather sucky to start but then finished with MAC titles. 2019 got off to a huge start when Mackenzie Andrews broke a school record, Curtis Richardson shone in the high jump and WOW! Matt Ludwig records the 2nd best pole vault IN THE WORLD so far in 2019. And next Friday is the annual Wagon Wheel Challenge dual meet with the Golden Flushes, and we’re the hosts! If you want a fun 3 hours (at most) Friday, come down and support two (M & W) of the most successful teams we’ve got!
  10. Future Flushes - I have seen Stow High play on several occasions this season, and I am SO happy that the Portage County Community College has signed 6'10" Evan Bainbridge. Not to pick on this kid, he seems to be a nice, good kid, no issues, but he is not going to be a threat to the Zips in years ahead, IMHO. In the three games I've watched, he has scored 2, zero, and 4 points against teams that have no one over 6'4". He LOVES to play outside the 3 line, so he's not even a threat on rebounding. His coach is one of the best in Summit County, maybe Ohio, and if he can't figure out how to get him the ball, I don't know who can. Now I know that kids mature differently, and maybe Pinky can help him transition in to a good MAC baller ( ) but I'm not concerned.
  11. If you haven't already, wait until you see this kid play! I am very high on him. He could play D1 in ANY sport he chose, he is a stud athlete. I am so glad he chose to play soccer, and to play here.
  12. They better support the Black and Gold better than in the past. Even during the discussed exit, when they were having rally games to show support, the seats were only 3/4 full in a small stadium. I go to 6 to 8 matches a season, and was very disappointed in the attitude of the fan base when they should have been showing support with their $$$
  13. Very uneducated in this area - does the fact that some of our current roster players haven't announced they are leaving the team mean good things? Of id there a time frame where they can't announce they are leaving a school? Thoughts from my more savy friends on ZNO.....
  14. Have you been out of the country or something?????
  15. What exactly is the point again? Is it cutting athletics drastically to “save the university” from financial dire straits?
  16. K-Lac was unconscious and they let him drive himself to MAYFIELD to a hospital? Where the hell are the trainers, coaches...you treat this almost like a concussion.
  17. So is soccer assistant coach Leo Chappell...been gone since the WMU game.....just sayin'
  18. Of the Scottish teams Celtic would be THE team to be on. He’d see time in UEFA Champion’s League or Europa League every season there, based on their form. But it my take a season to break into the starting 11. You know, I thought that’s what. you meant f-lobo. And I whole heartedly agree. Still pretty high level. Thanks!
  19. This brings up a good point TZ...I agree with you on this....I admit to being biased towards top-division Euro leagues and enjoy watching those matches much more than MLS ones,, and so I believe our USMNT players would benefit more from some time over there, including Wil et al. Your (and others) thoughts on the level of MLS vs. EPL, Ligue 1, La Liga etc?
  20. Thinking about the retaining of some of the coaching staff, and I had a brain fart and another question came to mnd about this whole process, and maybe you guys/gals have already brought this up....I thought I read somewhere (can't find it) that if we had waited until January 1st to sign coach Arth that we would not have had to "buy him out" from UT-C? My thoughts centered on the Athletic Admin's decision to hire him prior to early-signing day, so he was in place to try to get some commits. If this is true, then why isn't someone wondering LOUDLY at the University level as to the fact we got zero early commits for over $350,000?
  21. Loved when he told Frenchy there will be NO DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME!!! Frenchy and Joe just stammered, and they still did the sponsor spot!
  22. I know...it's a double edged sword for me. You are absolutely right about this, and I do get excited and do talk it up to non-Zips fans, and point to the number of pros and number of trophies we have with the MSOC program....So on the one hand I am a vocal (imagine that?) advocate and cheerleader to what we have produced, but then somewhere inside me is the "old school" guy that likes to see a sports team - any sport - at U of A have players stick around for me to get to know and root for for more than 20 games. Joao is a fine example, just when I felt like I started to "know" him...poof! I'm just schizophrenic sometimes!!! The days of 3 year or 4 year seniors in all NCAA sports (with the same school) are sadly IMHO a thing of the past.
  23. Jackson shot blocked by Dugan....yuck.
  24. God, can we please hit a bucket soon?
