Too many "get off my lawn" guys commenting! I hate big crowds and traffic too but there is nothing better than a packed house for college football! The crowd, the band, the students and the energy are a major part of what makes college football great.

It's really sad that the local media doesn't support (or at least cover) the home town team, inexcusable.

It's a delicate balance. You need to play big schools and if you build up your program enough you can compete with them. Unfortunately, this team is not yet ready to compete with the big boys. Look at all the small conference schools with upsets against the big boys in the first few weeks. App State, Marshall, Georgia Southern etc. And several others have competed well but lost. Akron needs to keep the big boys on the schedule and I assure you that they players want it as well. Every player wants a chance to play at Tennessee or Ohio State or Notre Dame etc. Once again, the biggest issue is that this program needs to get competitive.

Agree, although Irons stats weren't bad I was very disappointed in his play. He has a cannon for an arm but has no touch and is not very accurate. Almost got a few receivers killed with his erratic throws. Seemed like he held the ball too long at times as well. He is a freak athlete for his size, if Joe keeps him as the QB I would create some plays to get him running with the ball. My two cents..

Unfortunately, I pretty much called this except it was close the whole way. A lot of new players playing together for the first time so I think they’ll improve but it going to rough the next few weeks. O line has to make some major improvements fast.

Irons is so inaccurate, don’t think he’s the answer. And why not run it on that 3rd down play,it was wide open to get the first but he forced into a covered receiver-maddening

I think this game will be closer than we want through the first half. Zips will be playing for real for the first time in a new system and likely make a few mistakes. From what I have read, SF has a ball control offense. They will want to control the clock and keep the ball away from the JoeMoe O. Zips get more comfortable in the second half and finally make some plays. 27-14 win.

Has anyone heard any attendance projections for Thursday night?

Sounds like some poor performance by the ticket office but you honestly believe that they were trying to screw you out if your tickets? Seriously doubt that was their plan

Exactly, it's very important and very needed. Akron has a great stadium and great indoor but the locker room and weight room are in desperate need of an overhaul. A facility in the end zone similar to Miami would be huge for the program

Winning games and MAC championships will get that done. Also need a new locker room and weight room overlooking the field in the North end zone. If Joe accomplishes what he thinks he can, changes will come.

Most places have the over/under Akron win total at 2.5. Seems like easy money taking the over. Beat SF and just squeeze out two conference wins.
