Yes, there is a 30 day period that starts in December and then a 15 day period in the spring sometime for entering the portal. True it’s whenever the are at risk to play in their fifth game but for kids that have been playing in every game, it’s now.

That’s a good question, not sure. I assume many of them leave campus and withdraw from classes. Then they officially enter the portal at the end of the season.

The new age of college football. Actually, they can play in four games and not lose a year of eligibility- step on the field for that 5th game and you lose a year so this week was the cut off. Kids all over the country stepping away from their teams.

I don’t expect to win these games against Power 5 teams but it would be nice to at least put up a fight and not get completely embarrassed. Every year there are non power 5 fbs teams being competitive and beating power 5 teams yet we can’t even not get humiliated. Hell, even a lot of FCS teams are competing much better than the Zips. The crowd was not that big but I thought it was a great atmosphere. I actually liked the music, it created some energy people were dancing. I also likes Norm MacDonald, he did make several mistakes, but he had some energy and I’m sure will improve.

This play totally reminded me of the miracle in the meadowlands with Larry Csonka and Herm Edwards. It was on the same part of the field, scoop and score, complete blunder. This has to have a name, Miracle in the Land? Miracle in Akronland? Miracle in MoreheadLand?
