Very happy with the defense. I was happy when they held the Bonnies to 61 and it needs to carry over. Gotta make these teams very frustrated. Shooting will get better… eventually?

Not really shocked with any result so far. Ball State and Bowling Green had very soft schedules. Even the Buffalo game I’m not really surprised

Happy MACtion everyone! The zips have there longest trip remaining of the regular season as they face NIU. I’ll be watching this game as well as the Kent Ball State game. NIU is always a tough draw on the road so I wanna see how the zips conquer this. Everyone is back to 0-0. Just win baby

Very tough non conference as planned by Groce. I think it definitely challenged the team as well as Groce himself. Nobody in the MAC had that many battles like we did. We will see how the guards perform and check back in February.

Gotta say this was a really cool event. Every game was close and felt like a conference tournament or March madness game. Really wish Akron would’ve won but overall a pretty fun day of CBB

Messy night but now that it’s over and I’m looking back. Gardner Webb is actually rated in the mid to high 100s according to Groce. His offensive game plan of attacking one of the worst fouling teams in the country worked like a charm 41 free throws attempts is crazy. Shyed away from 3s and stayed focused on the basket with Ali Freeman and Tribble having there way. This defense struggles against small ball. They want to have two bigs more often then not and Gardner Webb abused that and played a fast pace game similar to FIU. Every game I think “man when this team cleans this up they’ll be really really good” well enjoy the holidays because clean up times ends here pretty quickly. St Bon is tough and then it’s conference time. Enjoy your holidays everyone!
