I wish the Zips would have made their free throws(misssed 15) and hit open shots in the lane in the MAC champ game, they would be playing today or tommorow in a DIFFERENT TOURNAMENT!!! . But, having said this, I am still happy they have a game on Sat.

Not to put the knock on all Can't fans or even the majority of them, but I beleive many of them are just fair weather fans. What was it , 6 years ago they went to the elite 8 and the following season they rarely , if ever sold out any of their home games.

I don't want to accuse refs of doing something wrong, seriously, but don't look for the Zips to win at FSU tomorrow night. All close calls will go Seminoles way. The tournament is about MONEY!

I sat in front of a Can't fan for both the semi's and the final. This guy did have class, we talked very objectively during the semi's and the final.

All MAC regular season finals are this Sunday. Two of them are BG at Miami and Buffalo at OU. Since the storm is not supposed to be gone until Sunday around 4:00 A.M. , if the travel problems are so bad, that those two games have to be cancelled, that would affect the tournament seedings. Not likely to happen, but could.

Here is my analysis of the game and a look ahead. I took a pad and pen to the game tonight. What I was keeping track of was: touches in the paint and points in the paint for several different players.1.) Chris M. 5 touches in the paint, 8 points in the paint2.) J. wood 4 touches in the paint , 3 points in the paint3.) Brett M. 1 touch in the paint, 0 points in the paint.Note: I count touch in the paint as actually receiving the pass in the lane or within 1 foot of the laneAlso: points in the lane are via a basket or foul shots made.My point is , our 3's were falling , still not enough points in the paint.The look ahead: The win today did give the Zips a first round bye, which of course is good.But , do the Zips or the flushes for that matter want to face each other in the Semis?? I doubt it.Because I expect Westerm Mich to win their remaining 2 games(they won tonight at Toledo), if Can't loses 1 of their remaining 2 games, West Mich gets the #1 seed, and assuming the Zips get the #3 seed, the Zips and flushes have a good chance of meeting in the semis.

I think it is time to stop all the "Can't is ranked" talk. O.K. it is good for them, good for the MAC, they deserve it. But let's focus on the next three games, not just the season ending one with Can't!!!! Get that #3 seed,and go after it with authority!!!!. Pound the ball in the paint,shoot 3"s, but do not live and die with them!! Start counting the number of shots the Zips get in the paint!!!!!!!!! We cannot count on Miami successfully defending Millet Hall this Sat against the Bobcats. The Zips might have to go to Athens and win to get that #3 seed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am refering more that Chris also has to SCORE down low.

Unless McKnights(especially Chris) start contributing, down low, the Zips chances of beating Can't and winning the Mac championship are considerably less than 50 percent.

Pretty sure we loose tie-breaker VS OU, based on the fact that OU beat WMU and Zips lost to them.

Zips get a four game split with West Va. Recap says Tom Farmer got the save in the final game. I thought he had been drafted last year by Minnesota Twins???

I don't think anyone can state too strongly how important it is to get that #3 seed. If Zips beat Buffalo and Miami can win at home Sat vs OU, then Zips would have a 2 game lead over the Bobcats. Then a win vs Can't at the end would give Zips 3 seed regardless of what Zips do at Athens.

I do not agree that Linhart should stop shooting. Keep in mind they are asking him to many times guard the other team's best shooter. Perhaps it is taking its toll. He just did not look relaxed when he them fly today. Perhaps he was rushing his shot.

Zips up 4-0 after 5 innings vs Mountaineers.

The Zips, no doubt would love to have the #3 seed. With J. Wood try to get back, will the Zips fall back into depending too much on him for low-post scoring, or will they have put the time when he was down to good use, in having more from the McKnights???

I understand the argument about playing J. Wood this Sat, but playing the game is not the same as rehabing exercises. We have pretty much secured a bye. Zips also have a week off before playing the next game(home vs Buffalo). Wait till OU game , then bring him back(slowly) VS OU. By the time the tournament rolls around, he should be ready.

There are times during the course of a game that a coach must let go, and let a player's natural ability take over. We witnessed a brief stretch against N. Ill when Brett went to the basket nicely. Let him do it sometimes, it is the only way to gain confidence, even if the game is on the road.

I believe that KD has done a great job as coach, but if he lets Wood play in the VCU game, he is absolutely OUT OF HIS MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I see this talk about RPI, FORGET IT!!!!!!!! Some years ago, Can't had a great RPI number and did not get in!!!!!!WE NEED A HEALTHY WOOD FOR THE MAC TOURNAMENT PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
