Really Cap'n 37 free throws to 7 and our guys choked? They should have been up by 30. This Valpo team will barely finish .500 and this game will kill us. They aren't very good at all, but they are awesome when they can do nothing and get every damn call all night long.

You guys are out of your minds this game should have never been this close....this is the result of horrible officiating. Valpo won the boards.....of course they did our guys weren't allowed to play basketball. Like I said before this s why basketball is quite possible the dumbest sport....how can you send a team to the foul line 37 times and one 7. It is actually impossible for one team to foul that many times while the other team fouls so few. I hate basketball....absolutely hate it and the BS that counts for officiating!

This is exactly why basketball is quite possibly the worst sport in the history of athletics....you are freaking kidding me with this officiating.

WTF is going on....Q gets knocked to the ground...no foul and Z stand in the middle a guy runs into him and gets called for a foul. Fuck the Horizon League referees....what bullshit this is.

Is anyone else sick of hearing how good the schedule is this year? After the soccer match last night driving home I listened to Steve French tell me how good Valpo and Duquesne are. I don't care how good they are there is absolutely no reason why this team shouldn't beat their ass and after seeing the way Can't took WVU to the woodshed I have no qualms about saying we need to beat them too. In fact -- I don't think this team shoudl lose prior to the MAC. This team can't let up or even have a the thought in their mind that any of these teams can beat them. They need to develop a killer instinct and take on all comers.

By the way - if Akron and Charlotte win their next games could we be at home again next week?

I saw tha the NU coach thought this game was worthy of a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 matchup and the RPIs are not what they are made out to be for these two teams. I hope he's right because I didn't come away terribly impressed with NU. With that in mind, if it is because our guys just were that much better last night then may be in for a nice ride!

I thought the team lost a little focus in the second half, but I also believe the Ref in the middle was horrible. I'm not sure what was called to give NW the penalty kick because nobody fell down and it seemed like everyone was bunched up where he called the foul. Prior to that Mattocks was taken down in the box (there was a huge divot where he was taken down) and the referee called it out of the box. Finally, with the game coming to a close (couple minutes to go) Mattocks turns with the ball and right in front of the ref is pushed down with both hands.....no card! In bounds ball...different guy and Mattocks is pushed to the ground again with no card. Glad to see the team keep their composure - - would love to see more attacking, but seemed like a good win. Northwestern didn't seem very good either and were very sore losers.

Nice to have Ken doing the Cleveland show....I was listening a few weeks ago and he was talking about how he watched a chick flick with his wife instead of the Akron football game on TV. He said he checked the score a few times (the Miami game) and didn't regret missing his alma mater on TV. More digs on iCoach from the media...I love it.

If the guys in the locker room don't like it....beat them out on the field.

That highlight real didn't have many snaps from under center? Seems like a common thread for iCoach if he brings this kid in...take kid comfortable in shotgun, put behind center directly and fail.

If ND would release them they would be free to play next year.

There is one right across from the stadium almost...on top of Thursday's I believe. Can you imagine being a recruit and coming to town and seeing that billboard? To some extent I think I'd still be okay with it because I think it shows passion from fans and that is good. I'd be willing to kick in money for the cause.

Wayne State made the playoffs today after finishing 8-3. Lost the last game of the year 43-42....imagine that offense.

@Zippyrulz I think that is easily answered by telling the prospective new coach that the previous coach was not showing any progress. Let's face it there isn't a person here who thought this team was going to challenge for the conference title, but if we were in more than half our games and won 4 games people on this board wouldn't be nearly as angry as they are today.

If the Universtiy cannot eat a contract for a bust of hire then the University needs to get out of the Div. 1 football business. This is the cost of doing business and the cost of making a poor hire at AD who in turn made a poor hire at football coach.

Bobby what exactly are you giving him credit for with relation to the other programs? He inherited a solid coach in soccer and basketball that had success? Who has he hired and/or what has he specifically impacted that would give him any credibility. He has done nothing to change the fortune of any program for the better....he has though impacted the football program significantly negative.

Zach how far off base can you be? You are going to equate the French Literature department within the English program to the most visible program at the University? A program they built a 60 million building to house? Yeah you are right same thing.

Zach stop acting like this school doesn't bring in dollars ever year...last year was a record 42 million! The entire equation needs to come into play here....lost revenue expected from attendance vs salary...I can't believe the difference in firing him is as big as you make it out to be. If the administration is not interested in being taken seriously and firing this buffoon...I beg of everyone on this board to not renew your seats next year and when you get the order form back send them the letter back with a reason.

I agree with GP1, but have to add that I was fairly impressed with Zeke tonight -- he got hosed on that last foul hopefully he'll start to get some respect as the season wears on. I really liked seeing Tree and Harney too....they look like they are going to be fun to watch.

REeally hate the title of this thread, but really loved the game. This was a pretty impressive victory. I sure hope Miss State is as good as you all think so because they didn't look like it last night. My expectations are for this team to be undefeated heading to WVU.

Looking through my ESPN Magazine this morning and saw the Zips are preseason ranked 97...Wow that seems like a lot of disrespect. Can't is the no. 1 ranked MAC team at 68. Looking at the rankings of the other teams on our schedule I feel like we need to get 25 wins with this schedule. WVU would seem like the only game against a significantly higher ranked team. Once again no teams in the top 25 and way to many in the bottom 1/3.
