I think it is funny that the only thing I heard from anyone about the game yesterday was what a doofus he looked like on TV with his plays down his pants. Nobody I know expected them to even score so the only thing that was of any interest to them was how bad he looked. I even got two texts from people asking...how did this guy get the job. These are people who don't follow the program closely or at all...one was an OSU fan and the other a good friend living in Maryland. I've always thought he carried himself poorly on the sideline especially with his posture....my neighbor went to a few games last year and commented on the same thing, but when I watched the replay when I got home yesterday and saw him stuffing the plays down his pants even I was surprised by that move.

Is there a better question than hiring Tressel -- perhaps? Would you be willing to sacrifice the "integrity" of our program for significant notoriety? I would in a heart beat. The death penalty is a thing of the past in college football and what was done in Columbus was just stupid but hardly anything extreme if you ask me. Tressel's actions of obfuscation were worse than the players who got Tats for gifts. Tressel (regardless of whether you care or not) is one of our own -- an Akron graduate. I'm not sure i would accept just any coach who broke the rules, but one who coached and went to school here i would. I don't think he'll coach Div. 1 again. I do believe he'll coach and wouldn't be surprised if it was at Baldwin Wallace or a high school.

Can you name a football program in this country that is worse than Akron? We have been pretty terrible as of late and before last year I would have told you Can't, but I think they are moving forward while I'm still not sure about our program.

I think we'll be parking in the area suggested above....hope to get ther early enough to park west of the stadium across the river by the pedestrian bridge. Hope to see some of you down there.

So who is heading down to the game Saturday? Where is everyone tailgating? What time is everyone planning on getting down there?

Nice read and I second the notion that this article helped us learn more about Ianello than any previous article. I know this article means nothing when it comes to games, but its about time something has been written that provider more than coach speak.

Last year was about what to do, this year about how to do it....will next year be about when to do it? God I hope I'm wrong about this guy, but he isn't give me much to work with.

Listen I'm not the most positive guy on these boards, but someone is going to have to explain to me what happened to GP1 recently. Did you get some brother? I've never heard you this positive!

iCoach has done nothing to engage the fan base (the very few of us) and I feel like those of you who coming down on the people who don't like iCoach are forgetting last year. Do you remember how bad this team was last year. I've watched a lot of Zips football 20+ years of it and I haven't seen anything that bad during that time. I'm hopeful the guy will turn this thing around, but I'm not sure last year gave me much confidence this guy is the guy. I look at other programs we should be way ahead of and it pisses me off.By the way count me as one who believe Can't will beat us again this year. Heck they beat us last year and it wasn't enough to save their coach's job. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it does give fans a sense of things to come when a coach lands recruits during the early signing period. Can't has three an o-lineman (Elyria), kicker (Aurora) and wide receiver/db (Madison). A lot of other MAC schools have early commits and I saw this morning on www.ohio.com that at least someone is coming for an unofficial visit a 5'11 205 lb linebacker -- hope he is quick and can play DB.

Becky's is classic college bar with interestingly enough pretty decent food. It would be a great place to meet before the game, but I would guess Bricco would be closer -- although it would be far more expensive.

I think the point I'm most disappointed in with ICoach is his conversation continues to point towards him being right and it was essentially the players he had that made them be as bad as they were. As if he had nothing to do with how bad that played. All I want to hear from him is something along the lines of...last year was my first year as a head coach too and I made some mistakes --- I've learned from them and look forward to the new year. It is called humility which I have yet to see from ICoach. I want to know what was in YouTube Tom's performance review for this guy....did he get an exceeds expectations for his job? The way this guys talks is like he was awesome last year.

Lebron doesn't care about you and the fact that you think he does make me question your sanity. I don't care if you're from Akron or Cleveland. He is possibly one of the most self obsessed athletes in sports. He had the world by the balls in Cleveland with an owner who would do anything for him. Players would have come here to play with him if he would commit to Cleveland which he never did. The media and apparently people from Akron have no f'ing clue what it is to be a Cleveland fan. Cleveland hasn't won anything since 1964. Akron's inferiority complex is Akron made -- Cleveland doesn't give a $hit. Does Canton have the same inferiority complex when it comes to Akron? In Akron your closest professional franchises are in Cleveland -- I'm sorry if you don't like it.

What about Huckleberry's -- wasn't that the name of the bar/restaurant in Fairlawn by Rockne's year's ago. Bring back that name and the beer specials they had! The food was great at Thirsty Dog -- I have no idea why the restaurant failed -- my wife and I ate there a lot when we were dating and they had the best pretzels and mashed potato pizza in the business.

You guys are awesome. I guess I'm official not a diehard when it comes to Zips football. As much as I miss football when the season is over I couldn't stand watching this team last year against better teams....so I will not be attending a game of them against themselves.

Was at a local HS game recently sitting next to a guy with an affiliation with Colorado. We some how ended up talking about Akron football and he told me recently spent some time with JD. He said JD held no grudges against Akron and knew why he was fired. The next thing he said scares me because of the consistency it has with what others on this board have said....JD has heard ICoach isn't making friends and the football team doesn't like him. What is the chance this guy is everything we hear he is and he sets this program back even further? How many games does ICoach need to win this year for you to be convinced he is moving us forward? What do we do if this team wins one game again? I think he was a huge mistake and he proved me right last year. I can't believe we will win three games this year, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Stop the whining already....they pay the University for the designation and that is all the University cares about the money not the experience. Couple that with if our team showed up in Chicago and beat Notre Dame like they could have I'm sure they would have kept the Akron gear on. Not to mention this is such a common thread on here about that bar you should expect it and if you don't then your the idiot. I don't go there because the place is incompetent beyond the clothing the staff wears. I posted here before we tried to go prior to a football game last year and the line was out the door with only have the tables sat because they weren't staffed properly -- haven't been back since.

I apparently wasn't clear....I meant they got it right in the box score how could you then get it wrong in the article...but I know different people do the story and the agate so that does make sense. I saw the game story issue.

They even have MAC next to Can't in the box score...how do you mess that up?

I wish they would call it UA, but these are guys who grew up in Akron and have most likely always called it Akron U like most Akronites. I actually hate it, but I must say this is my favorite post from LeBron.

The part that drives me nuts is when the first and second half are officiated so differently. I told everyone watching with me last night it would be like that (it always is) and it wasn't a minute into the second half when Zeke picked up another bullshit call.

We were only up by two in the Penno game, maybe he didn't learn it then. Probably not...I try to block that game from my memory.

I thought Keith learned his lesson years ago when we lost the Penno three game -- if you are up by three points why do you let them shoot a three. Did anyone ask Keith that question? I was screaming at my radio in the car. It seems like such a no brainer I have no idea how he let them shoot a three to tie the game. STUPID!!!
