  1. Just because the page is gone doesn't mean the drawings aren't there....that is osports and you can see the drawing in their office in the windows.
  2. O Sports is housed in the Penton Media Building in DT Cleveland (St. Clair and E. 9th) on the first floor they have drawings of their work and models. A drawing and a model of the new arena you speak of is in this office. I don't know who commissioned it where it came from, but they did it already. They tend to do more government buildings now a days, but they bid on the football stadium too. They did the original horseshoe in Columbus and the new addition. They designed Yankee Stadium (not the new one) years ago too. Anyone have an information on the drawings and model?
  3. He was quoted in the New York Post. There was a link from Rasor earlier this week (I think). He said he calld Keith and was really happy for him. Say what you will LBJ has been good for Akron....his connection coach brings a lot of people to this campus in the summer and I have to believe it is going to provide even more benefits in the future. I want to believe Zeke is the first of many high profile recruits we land.
  4. I noticed BG got an 8 seed which is actually like a 24 seed in the NIT. They play at Creighton. Funny how St. Mary's was the darling of the tournament shows yet didn't even garner a 1 seed in the NIT they are a 2.Buffalo will travel to Wichita State to play in the CBI -- I assume it is cheaper to travel to Wichita State than to pay the $60,000 OU paid last year to host a CBI game.
  5. When I saw the draw today I immediately thought about the many conversations we've had hear regarding how we could become the next Gonzaga...well it appears our questions have been answered and it starts with beating them. As they say you've got beat the man to be the man.Regardless of what happens I too have much respect for what Gonzaga has accomplished and I hope this is our first step in gaining respect.
  6. I have been there a few times -- opening week and since...very cool bar. Looking forward to seeing y'all there.
  7. Is everyone heading to the Cadillac Ranch prior to the game? I know that is the Alumni headquarters....has anyone been there this week? Who is showing up tonight?
  8. Linhart for 3 and he's got 6 to go for 1,000
  9. People can say anything they want about Gary Waters, but the guy is one of the best coaches in the country at this level. CSU has been terrible and within two years he has them in the NCAA Tournament.I hope this year we get to join them at the dance. I love it when teams like CSU make it to the dance because Butler will get an invite on their own and one more major will be left out.
  10. This could be what this team needs to learn and make their run. So glad I listened through to the end.
  11. TO -- toledo with a chance to win -- if you are a defensive team this is in your wheelhouse right?
  12. C'mon guys...do this....make it happen....tie the game.
  13. absolutely pathetic...pathetic they should all be ashamed of themselves.a team that can't hit free throws continues to shoot threes and misses....they shoot 32% on the year yet dambrodt doesn't tell them they suck at threes and might want to not shoot them
  14. why is nobody in the live chat tab in the upper right hand corner?
  15. Toledo Blade LinkI've got no clue how to use the link function and couldn't find it in the help...sorry.For years it has been basketball that has made people enjoy the MAC so much.....that reason is gone. I think the writer makes an interesting point about the MAC and its love affair with football when basketball would get it more recognition. Gonzaga is more of a household name than Akron and I don't even know if they play football. The same for Dayton and I think they play Div. III football. I love football, but if I had a choice to be a team like Dayton or Gonzaga in basketball and not have football. I'd vote for being a team like Dayton or Gonzaga every day of the week. I doubt we'd even lose football attendance.
  16. don't mistake my statement for real disappointment....this team has exceeded many expectations this year and it isn't over....my compaint was real about the lack of focus and i felt mclanahan lead the way
  17. someone might want to let mclanahan know the guys in the white jerseys were on his team....you can't play him and mcnees at the same time.
  18. Nice to see Akron still being mentioned what a great get he would be. On a side note -- this Sixburgh thing is pretty f'ing annoying as a Browns fan. Just for fun Mayor Jackson should put together a proclamation to name Cleveland Eightland after the eight football championships. Maybe Pittsburgh wants to change their city to Eighteensburgh after this year when the Pirates set the record for futility -- 18 consecutive losing seasons. For all the Indians ineptitud over the years they haven't been that bad.
  19. With all due respect to Victor Green -- Dwight Smith was the best defensive back this school has ever had. The game he played at Can't (I think his senior year) to single handedly win that game was one of the most impressive games I've seen by a a Zips player ever.
  20. So where the hell is the Soccer Stadium. Are you kidding me what the hell is the University waiting for to get this guy a new stadium. I stadium worthy of his place....on top of that what is Mack Rhodes doing to get the Zips into a real soccer conference. C'mon enquiring minds want to know -- especially before we lose Caleb.
  21. Just as I suspected - I'm on my way out of town Wednesday in the a.m. HOpe all goes well.
  22. Cap'n I'd be in for a viewing party if I'm in town. I live in town, but lately I've been traveling for business at least once a week.
  23. If you clicked this link you have to be wondering why I posted it -- call it a slow news month. Nonetheless one of the things I've found amazing over the years has been the willingness of schools like Akron to give coaches contract extensions that are lose/lose equations. The school most always lets a coach interview for better jobs even if they are under contract and if the team sucks you have to pay them if you fire them. With that as the build up -- I find it ironic that a big school like BC is the first to my recollection to tell a coach -- you go interview and we'll fire you. My question is if you fire him do you have to pay him or is this a breach of contract of sorts? Or is it only a breach of contract if he takes the job. I just hate to see these situations where a school gave you security, you signed the contract and then you look to run at the first opportunity.
