This was a topic from game one of the this year -- special teams. I still think JD should probably hire a special teams coach.

I've thought outside of defense Dials has been overrated since he got here. I would prefer to see Ced out there as much as possible. He is the most athletic player on this team and can make things happen.

If, through the next 3-4 years the program continues to progress, I'm sure he'll make another decent salary jump at UA...or a huge one to somewhere else. Either way I'd be satisfied. Continue is still up for grabs -- thus far he isn't guaranteed continued progress this year. I think you could make the case for this team regressing and the loss to Can't was inexcusable

This team is playing terrible and I can't seem to get over how ill prepared this team has been this year. As I mentioned earlier -- is the difference Jim Pry. Did we not know how much he meant to this team.

Who told Getsy he has wheels and can evade a rush -- man that guy is slow! spins into a sack again.

We can't stop Toledo....this is going to be tough to comeback. What was the name of the coach that left in the offseason -- should we have kept him and made him the head coach? Is he the difference?

98 yard drive after a Getsy interception -- defense doesn't look ready to play at all. Getting absolutely manhandled.

Toledo down to the 7 from the one -- this team just continues to disappoint this year. Where is the defense?

I'm as blue and gold as they come, but I for one have been extremely disappointed with this season. I was expecting big things this year and the NC State game had me really pumped, but now I'm as far down as I was up after that game. I think a second MAC Championship is out of the question and I have serious doubts as to whether this team finishes above .500.

Do you think Tony Alexander will really pony up First Energy for naming rights over Gary Taylor of Infocision? Two guys with fat cash -- my guess is Taylor would be a more viable solution strictly from the fact that (I believe) Infocision is a privately held company and Taylor is not beholden to the same shareholders that could question Alexander's decision to plunk down the cash on naming rights for his alma mater. To be honest though -- how much could you get for naming rights to a stadium at The University of Akron? Googling Jacob's field brings back naming rights of $695,000 annually. A ten year naming right cost $7 million -- what's that buy you in a $60-$75 million stadium. I guess a good start. If I remember right the pouring rights to The University of Akron cost $4.5 million for Pepsi for ten years and they were actually getting something back in sales for their money.

How many games does this team have to lose before those "glass if half full" guys to starting wondering what's going on. The blow out to Can't was enough for me to wonder.

I couldn't believe Herbie or Steele picked Can't to win it, but instead of claiming they got lucky why not just say nothing. Why can't they be 53? They manhandled Akron, they outcoached and outplayed the Zips.

Was in the car listening to WNIR and they were talking about the photoshop contest and laughing. They then gave a pop to zipsnation.org -- Steve we now know you are reading -- nice to have you.

Akron 25 Can't 7 -- rainy field and three missed extra points for Domonkos. Looked at the Minnesota box score to see what has happened with this team -- 10 offensive series in the Minnesota game and six turnovers. Since then the defense has stiffened up a little, but I don't think the offense has gotten much better. Akron will stop scoring at some point for a long period of time as they do weekly. This could be worse, but it won't .

I only hope the players aren't taking Can't as light as some of the fans on this board. Historically this team can lose to anyone -- look at last year for examples -- Army (c'mon). This team was flat in the second half last week and if they carry this over to this week -- it could be the kicking game that cause another loss.

What does this mean...what is going on with this program. Didn't they only lose two players. After this loss they won't be ranked next week -- how disappointing.

Is this the theme for Saturday? We've won four consecutive wagon wheels at DIX Stadium. I'd love to see the marketing department grab this and make t-shirts with a big hand with four wagon wheels on the hand and a big empty thumb and DIX Stadium --- maybe the sign crossed out saying Rubber Bowl East.

Chuck Amato feeling the heat!Apparently this if from earlier in the season -- I'm sure the Akron game made it a little hotter for him. Knocking off Boston College this last weekend can't be bad for Akron either.

With a top tier soccer team you can't tell me we don't have a soccer player who can kick better than Domonkos. Why not just have tryouts on the practice field between classes -- just put up a poster board advertising and take the first one that hits 10 extra point in a row. I know the special teams didn't exactly cost us the game in CMU, but an extra point and a field goal and that's a one point win for Akron. By the way how good did the CMU loss look today when EMU took them to the wire? With a couple of short field touchdowns and nothing in the second half -- you can go ahead and say next week's game is going to be an easy win over Can't, but I'm not sure this team is going to do it. Could it be Akron is the team that should be worried next week -- Akron hardly ever beats Miami and did their best to give the BGSU game away last year. Special Teams will lose us games this year -- multiple. I don't know why we even kick extra points -- if you can go 50% on extra points you'll be doing better than Domonkos and his 4 missed extra points how do you do that?

I may be completely wrong, but wouldn't Getsy have graduated last year if he stayed at Pitt? 2004 would have been his junior year at Pitt and 2005 would have been his senior year -- he wouldn't be there this year. This woman can't be that stupid can she? What a moron!

Getsy and the o-line lost this game. JD did not. The coaches cannot go out on the field and make the plays. We here this all the time in Cleveland. Why do we even have coaches if nobody is allowed to criticize them because they aren't on the field. Romeo Crennel gets a pass, Phil Savage, Eric Wedge, Mark Shapiro -- all because they don't play -- then what do they do if we can't point the finger at them sometime. Please understand I don't mean JD is the problem. I simply thinking some of this could have been game planning and the CMU coach winning the coaching game. Funny how people were blasting CMU's def coordinator here on Friday and nobody is saying a word now. Appartently it wasn't Tresey here either.....
