  1. They gutted out a tough win 2-1 over Oakland (who made the NCAA tournament last year) last night and are back up to #4 in the NSCAA/Adidas poll:http://www.ncaa.com/soccer-mens/default.php?id=392After the futbol team thumps BUGS out west on Saturday, the football team can stomp their counterparts back home. Good day for BUGS crushing.
  2. Never mind - the BGSU team bus has been spotted, rolling out of Western Ohio toward civilization.
  3. Any "Heat Miser" reference is golden IMO!That got me thinking in a little more abstract sense. How about.....The BG Logo of Just a Few Years AgoAnd The Partridge Family Logo?Plus, we have Corey Partridge represented above - not quite Keith, but still close enough. The circle is complete - we've cracked the BGSU code. I've heard Gregg Brandon's real name is Rueben Kincaid. He had to assume an alias to coach at BGSU (part of the witness protection program where they banish you to the middle of nowhere). Has anyone seen their team bus?
  4. There are plenty on the "waiting list" and the Can't-OU game is the "Pillow Fight of the Week". but I can't remember another time when not a single MAC team was in the official Bottom Ten. So at least we got that going for us. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=bottom10086

  8. USF's football program only STARTED in 1997 at the 1-AA level, then they were an independent for a short time and were in conference USA for a little bit before joining the Big East. If you want a school model to follow, there is the one that should be studied.
  9. I don't think the Big East is any more realistic at this point than any other conference. If I got my wish list and I could join any conference quite honestly it would be the Big Ten. That would be awesome. They need a 12th member anyway, right?
  10. Even though all of this is way too far out to project, the answer to this particular question is no. This is exactly the sitaution Miami found themselves in last year and were not bowl eligible - you must have at least six wins and be at or above .500.
  11. Speaking of Jalil Carter, did anyone see the pics on GoZips.com of the game where they had this shot of him leaping to block Can't's final field goal? I think the only reason he missed blocking it was because it was so far right? Man, what an athlete. http://uaim.dyndns.info/photo_galleries/_A...e/100408640.htmLink doesn't seem to work so here is the photo I was referring to.

  13. By the way, nice call.
  14. Chase Blackburn also had 5 tackles.
  15. over 25ypc, and he scores often.... after this and the showing in that pre-season game, he has shined in limited playing time.I dunno why NY staff doesn't wake up and give him more PTHe finished with that stat line receiving, and also had one carry for 15 yards, I also saw on a halftime show just now that Michael Strahan predicted Hixon would score a touchdown today, then they showed the touchdown and it was a heck of a catch. Maybe he turns this year into a big payday. Hixon fieldhouse, anyone?
  16. Still think you are too hard on Igor. He has hit 75% of his field goals and missed one extra point (the stats say he's missed two, but one was the block at Cincinnati that was not his fault). I think that is a very acceptable rate for a college kicker. Yeah he missed an important field goal vs Cinci, but I think that given his season of work, he is far from a crappy kicker. Considering what we've had recently, he's a godsend.

  18. While that's true, there have been only two home games and they were against what is arguably the best team in the MAC and a pretty good Big East team, so the fact that the wins have been on the road should be encouraging. I'm not ready to put us into the good category, but in the weaker East, we definitely have a shot. "Worst" to first?
  19. Lets talk about the word consistency for a minute....Its inevitable for even the most consistent receiver to have an off game....granted at the cinnci game he did have a couple dropped passes in the first quarter...i would be juss a lil itchy if I was playing against a team that was nationally ranked for the first time in my career against a real NFL corner. And now in his first BIG RIVALRY game that actually means sumthin...shit happens. Not making excuses he my brother and i expect him to catch and make a play with every ball that touches his hands...but when it comes down to it....no one was making that catch like that in the end of the fourth quarter other than Bowser. Nothing against Andre Jones...They complement each other perfectly I feel...different play styles. Andre is serious! Clearly the chemistry between Bowser and Jac still has a long way to come (coming from some1 who has seen what happens when there is QB-Bowser chemistry), but it is growing. Maybe Camp ending knee surgery may have haltered that process...i dunno. What you see isnt what you get...sometimes its the receivers fault...sometimes its jac's fault...watching the game you wouldnt know...trust me.If u need proof Uafan go to youtube and check out the highlight tape....same shit he has done to JC corners...he has now done to NFL corners...(not the Can't corner...LOL)Turning one of your worst games....into a game winning acrobatic TD catch and a 20 yard catch that put igor in cash money land...sounds like the makings of a resillient football player.Figured we might be hearing from you soon on this topic. Don't worry, we still love him. If you look at what our wide receiver corps was supposed to look like before the season started, Deryn is a HUGE upgrade. He has made some very big plays this year, almost seems like he gets into a zone when things get really tight. He has a ton of talent which is why I think people get frustrated with him when its just the "ordinary" part of the game and that same focus doesn't always seem to be there. Believe me, we're happy to have him here.
  20. 4 catches, 102 yards, 1 TD in the first half in his first start. Don't hurry back, Plexiglas.
  21. After reading the article it's fairly obvious why we won. Here is a quote from the article:UA celebrated, and Can't State's players looked devastated. Holder Andy Hildreth knelt on the ground. Edelman crouched at the 20-yard-line, head down. How in the heck did we sneak Hildreth into the game to hold for Can't? Wow, what a brilliant piece of skullduggery! I'll bet Andy "white-knuckled" it. The ABJ reporters are amazing for digging that out.
  22. I really dislike how the unbalanced schedule works. There is just no way to really make it fair. BGSU has only the bottom three teams in the West (of course they just lost to one of them), Buffalo and OU only have two games (but both have both Central and Western), Temple gets those two plus Eastern. On paper it looks like we have the advantage over everyone buts BGSU, so that makes next week's game pretty critical. Beat them and we have the the tie breaker and can definitely get some help from the West from some of our other foes. I liked the format where only your division counted and the West was just a tiebreaker (of course the was the way we made our only MACC so maybe I'm biased .
  23. Any renewal like that is good and lots of time that can affect a neighborhood and bring the standard up. That can't be anything but good for the stadium and University.
  24. West Virginia knocked off #7 UConn 1-0 at Storrs, CT on FSC Friday night. Other top-10 scores: (1) Wake 8 Virg Tech 1Louisville 2 (2) St John's 1(3) Northwestern 2 Penn St 1Clemson 5 (4) Maryland 3(11) St Louis 0 (5) Creighton 0No. Illinois 0 (6) Akron 4Michigan 3 (8) Notre Dame 1Two of the top five lost and we soundly beat #23 at their place so a top five is pretty likely. Disappointed to see Notre Dame go down again, that doesn't help us, but West Virginia does. Also, guess Ken Lolla is putting together a pretty good program at Louisville, so while I'm grateful for all he did here, from what I've seen over the last few years, I'd take Caleb Porter anytime. I just want to see Indiana continue to do well so that they are NEVER tempted to come calling.
  25. Is anybody in the East any good? This is looking like a really lopsided year. Just win the East and then anything could happen.
