Wonder why they didn't try to auction off sections of the turf?
-
Wow CBS must be proud they picked this one to televise

Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot
MDZip replied to Valpo Zip's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
I wish Keith well and this is kind of the formula he followed at Akron but we'll see where things end up at the end of the year. If you notice in the standings they've had a pretty cupcake schedule and 12 of their games have been played at home. They are also one of only two teams in the A-10 that have not played a top 25 team. So the nice record at the beginning of the Season might still be a bit of a mirage. -
I was looking at the standings and was pretty impressed that CMU was 11-2 but then I looked at their schedule. Blech. Ball State on the other hand pretty impressive schedule to have a winning record against
-
Surprised there wasn't something started on this yet. Zips are once again looking reasonably poised in the first half.
-
Ugh outscored by 24 in the second half at this point
-
Pretty good first half. I love Cotton's passing eye and toughness. Way to get a big ejected from the game just by playing hard. Also love Ivey's response to run over to him quickly after that foul to make sure he kept his head. Especially since the two of them had a slight altercation last game. Leading by four with no points from E-man and a rough offensive half for Duvivier is a half I'll take. One thing I didn't like was ESPN's research Department who claimed that the two schools have never met.

After 7 games Utomi is hitting 50% of his field goals (excellent) but even better from 3 pt range at 50.9% (incredible). Top 15 in the country.

College Cup 2017: Dec 8, Akron v. Stanford
MDZip replied to SBZipfan's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
A couple comments from being there. Great facility to hold it in but not so sure Philly in December is the right place. Were lucky that the snows held off until today otherwise it would have been pretty dicey getting there. Also not a fan of the configuration of the stadium forcing you to go into Gates at one end of the stadium and walk all the way around the stadium to get back to the parking lot after the game. Also mild annoyance that as I walked around the inside the stadium I saw a national championship banners from every year from 2009 through 2016 but not one for the Zips. Also for those that were there why was some idiot Stanford fan sitting right in the middle of the Akron section? He wasn't awful but he didn't need to be there plenty of room in the Stanford section. One Akron student decided she'd had enough and went and stood in front of him to help convince him to move. He didn't (and she didn't so some Indiana fan decided she needed to get involved and called the Usher). Thank goodness the Usher convinced him he needed to go back to the Stanford section. Nothing on the game everyone's already covered that pretty well and I'm sure my view was clouded by that showing. You might be able to tell I didn't enjoy this one so much. And that's not even getting into that the cheapest tickets to even get into the stadium were $33. If it's ever held there again and the Zips go I will certainly return but I'm not going to be happy about it, :-) Oh yeah and $11 "crab" fries. -
College Cup 2017: Dec 8, Akron v. Stanford

Strange I went on uakronalumni and don't see this tweet. Any other information anywhere like what time and where in the stadium? -
Sadly I predicted this weeks ago as my luck is no better than the Zips.

Elite 8 - Friday night Dec. 1 - Akron at Louisville
MDZip replied to TennZip's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
Jared was right can't spell Louisville without an L although technically they'd need a T. ? -
Colgate down 2-0 to Louisville about halfway through the 2nd half.
-
Dammit that's one I wanted . ?
-
Heck of an exciting game. Zips absolutely dominated possession and their goals were things of beauty. Seemed like Wisconsin's goals were all brute force rushing to the net but I may have some bias. So fun being in the crowd when they absolutely erupted one minute and nine seconds into overtime. > Big Ten Champs.
-
Lol I saw what I thought was a 30-24 final. Still 8 minutes left. That's how little faith I have in the Kittens. ?
-
And it happened, Zips win the East outright. Damn shame too as the Kittens were sooo much better. Just ask them ??
-
Of the true tight ends listed here (Traylor-Bennett was more of an H back and wildcat runner than tight end), I won't say Booker was utilized well with only 6 catches but he scored more TDs (3) than anyone but Brake. Happy Thanksgiving Zips fans. Enjoy the sight of the stadium today where the Zips will be playing for the MAC Championship next week! ?
-
My guess is it will be the Boca Raton bowl because that's the only one I can't attend ☹️
-
I believe you are correct - awesome sums it up. ?

Rutgers thumped Cleveland State last night 70-38.
-
I'd contend this year as well. Losing two of your three captains to injury plus your backup RB. Doesn't sound too lucky to me this year either. Props to Manny Morgan too - dude ran hard.

I saw them whining about a potential 5 loss Akron team making the MAC Championship game. Let's compare out of conference schedules shall we? They played Hampton we played Arkansas pine-bluff I'll call that a wash. Their Big Ten opponent was Purdue we got Penn State. Their Big 12 opponent was the worst P5 team in all of college football we drew a team that barely missed their championship game. Our last out-of-conference opponent was Troy who beat LSU is 8-2 and is probably going to win the Sun Belt. Ohio's last out-of-conference opponent was 3 and 7 U Mass. Let's swap out of conference schedules and see exactly how good the Bobcats would be because our MAC records are exactly the same. #FUOU #Tenyears
-
Hands down no question the biggest winner of the Bowden era. OU was 8 and 2 and throttled Toledo last week. If Kato can continue to play like that we should beat Kent and I'd give us a reasonable chance against Toledo in the MACC.
-
OU has the tiebreaker over Miami. Not sure what would happen if it was a three-way tie however which is still possible since we all beat each other
