  1. It was a freaking bar fight. There will be little or no LEGAL consequences. He probably only got arrested because he didn't co-operate with the cops. Hopefully, the Judge is a Zip alum. The school will spank him, but really the biggest question is what was he doing out at 2AM before a game? He has to stop that behavior at once. But please, this was NOT a rape or robbery or child molestation. It was just a bar fight.
  2. I guess now we know why he was kicked off the team. RIP.
  3. North Hill? You're a dego. Let's get the topic back to good ol' Tree. Don't you mean "Dago"? Sheesh, you Ohio goyim are really something.
  4. THAT SIR was my point. He said that if it was Egner those comments would not have been made. Classic race card. As stated above, I meant it more as judging someone based on where they are from. I mentioned Josh Egner because Green, Ohio doesn't have a bad reputation. Inner-city Cleveland does. It angers me to see assumptions made about who Treadwell hangs out with because he's from inner-city Cleveland. Nothing more, nothing less. I know GoZips isn't a racist and wasn't calling him one. Inner City = black Green Ohio = white (probably, never been there). It IS the race card. And that is my last post on the subject. Inner City Cleveland = 53.3% African American, 37.3% White (33.4% Non-Hispanic Whites), 0.3% Native American, 1.8% Asian American, 0.0% Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander, 4.5% of some other race, and 2.8% from two or more races. Hispanic and Latino Americans of any race accounted for 10.0% of its population, with Puerto Ricans being the majority of the group. Inner City Akron = 67.22% White, 28.48% African American, 0.26% Native American, 1.50% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 2.07% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.16% of the population. Inner City Pittsburgh = 64.8% non-Hispanic White, 25.8% non-Hispanic Black or African American, 0.2% non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native, 4.4% non-Hispanic Asian, 0.3% from some other race (non-Hispanic) and 2.3% of two or more races (non-Hispanic) Inner City Columbus = White: 61.5% (Non-Hispanic Whites: 59.3%), Black or African American: 28.0%, Native American: 0.3%, Asian: 4.1% (1.3% Indian, 0.8% Chinese, 0.3% Korean, 0.2% Vietnamese, 0.2% Japanese, 0.2% Filipino, 0.2% Cambodian, 0.2% Laotian), Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander: 0.1%, Two or more races: 3.3%, Hispanic or Latino (of any race): 5.6%[67] (3.3% Mexican, 0.6% Puerto Rican, 0.2% Salvadoran, 0.2% Dominican) I grew up in North Hill which is 73% white and considered inner city. Not sure how inner city = black It is code words. If you paid more attention to Fat Al Sharpton and Hymietown Jessie Jackson you would recognize it for what it is.

  6. No one cares about soccer in the US. I love it that we were national champions, but that gets us exactly nothing. Sweet sixteen in the dance, that is SOMETHING.

  8. The other problem is, there is NO upside in this job for a good coach with a national name. The new coach will come to a team with three horrible seasons in a row (or is it more than that) and a horrible core of players. We have not had a QB since they fired Jacquemain. We have no offensive line. We have ONE defensive player who can tackle anyone. The kickers are graduating. And there is no recruiting class to speak of. In other words, next year we would be lucky to win two games with Vince Lombardi on the sidelines. And He is not available. When I was a freshman in 1967 the hoops team was coming off the Turner/Williams years. There was one returning starter (Jerry Sloan) and we were about as bad as this football team. There was no shot clock in those days, and there were one or two games where we tried to play the stall, just hold the ball and win 2-0. Yes, really. Against such luminaries as Philadelphia Textile and Kentucky Wesleyan. The next year they hired Wyatt Web as coach. And he found this guy in Cleveland who, as the story was told back then, was out of school and making a living hustling at pool. He was not on anyone's recruiting list. He was a nowhere man. Oh by the way, his name was Len Paul and he became one of the Akron all time greats. You want to see athletic - that guy was POETRY IN MOTION. Q and Harney together could not hold a candle to that guy. He was 6'4 and jumped center - twice a game in those days plus jump balls. (And if I am wrong on some of the details don't shoot me, this is how I remember it from 44 years ago, before lots of you were born). But the point of the story is this: Unless the new coach can get creative about finding some bodies who can play football in the MAC, we are dead in the water next year. And what big time coach would volunteer to be put into that position?
  9. Hey, DUMMY, underage drinking and breaking team curfew do make you a bad guy. The media had nothing to do with it. You managed this screw up entirely on your own. What kind of company do you keep? Bums? Thugs? Druggies? You are STUPID. You betrayed the trust of a lot of people who had faith in you. Now clean up your act and get back to being a Zip basketball player. The rest of you, stop kissing this idiot's butt. Are you serious? Sure, I am serious. I have grown children. I know what kids do. Mine weren't perfect either. And, I do know Tree well enough to speak frankly to him. I want him to grow up and be a fine person in the community. As for kissing his butt; read the posts. All I am asking of Tree is to "man up". A member of the basketball team has zero business being in a club at two in the morning. He was suppose to be in bed in his room. He violated the coaching staff's trust. Get it? I'm sure you'd call him a dummy to his face... Listen, we're all disappointed...he screwed up and it's terrible press for the program. I don't think that gives you the right to call one of our players a "dummy" or "stupid", or to claim he's hanging out with druggies or thugs (which, by the way, I don't think you'd say if this was, say, Josh Egner.) Let's not let your emotions get the best of you here. AHA the RACE CARD gets played. I knew it was in there somewhere.
  10. I don't believe you are correct. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault Maybe a lawyer on this site can give the meaning in Ohio law. I spent 30 years in Court, but in New York. I acknowledge that Ohio laws have different definitions. In NY, you must have an injury to have an assault. Otherwise it is "harassment", which is not a serious charge. If the cops claim they were assaulted, that is a different matter. But in general, assuming he has no record, this will all go away with a plea to a violation or and ACD (Adjourned in Contemplation of Dismissal). And remember, at this point he has not been convicted of anything. A continued suspension would be excessive.
  11. It says the DJ did not report being injured = no assault. MUST have an injury for an assault.
  12. It was a freaking bar fight. If he was Irish you would all just be saying "it's a rite of passage". Get over it. He will be back.
  13. You just said it all. Johnny Unitas could not have succeeded behind that offensive line. A QB is not too effective when he spends most of the game on his back looking up.
  14. Very unlikely, this is NOT a criminal offense. He will get spanked and hopefully learn his lesson.
  15. Everyone calm down. Disorderly Conduct is basically about the same as a traffic ticket. It is a violation, no one ever goes to jail for it, at worst you get a fine. But usually just a conditional discharge. He was not charged with assault or resisting, it will be resolved in one court appearance. That being said, what a bonehead move. But boys will be boys, and he is just a kid. BIG KID, but still a kid.
  16. We aren't Can't State University. If our guys fuck up, we hold them accountable. It sucks watching this, but that's on the players. I hope Abreu and Treadwell get shit from their teammates all the way home for not doing what they needed to do to be a part of the TEAM tonight. Bullshit You can't compete by looking for ways to kick guys off the team. This is a total load of crap. In the past they suspended Humpty and Brett M. Enough already. What did they do that justifies destroying the entire team?
  17. I know all you law and order guys are going to jump on me, but... WE FIRED OUR STARTING QUARTERBACK. Poof goes the football program. Now we suspend the starting PG AND the second leading rebounder (and strongman inside). Are they fucking kidding me?
  18. This is starting to suck. There must be a cover on the damn basket.
  19. Unknown, KD just said "the young man made a mistake".
  20. He got suspended too. DAMN
  21. You have to pay for a system that gets ESPN3 in order to get the mac-sports broadcast.
  22. Thanks It is listed on the mac-sports web site.
  23. The game is listed as streaming on mac-sports.com. One can only hope.
  24. If there was an announcement today, it would certainly be Tressel: He is available We have known for weeks (months) that we need a coach. The season is not over for many programs, so anyone who has a job could not commit this soon. But I don't believe it. Akron U is simply not slick enough to have a big time coach waiting in the wings.
  25. Yeah, right.
