  1. Ok, passive maybe wasn't the best word. I just want to see him dominate and be physical. He made an easy dunk. The blocks are always impressive but idk I just want to see him do more...imoI will not be impressed with 10 pts a game.Good grief. He is keeping them out of the paint, and all over the offensive side. What do you want? BB is a TEAM game. It does not matter who scores, as long as the scores get on the board. On the other hand, Zeke taking a jumper is really something. He kinda looked like Wilt Chamberlain. More of that please.
  2. Zeke had a terrific half. If he plays like that all year we will be in the sweet sixteen. He totally dominated both ends of the court. Don't listen to nonsense.
  3. Zeke hitting jump shots!Priceless. We can be very very good this year.
  4. Lets go for it!
  5. The Zmeister has a nice ring to it.The ONLY appropriate nickname is TINY
  6. Just wishful thinking. Bet I got a few hearts beating faster!
  7. Maybe they can get some high school kid to play QB.Hey wait, I still have FOUR YEARS of eligibility. If I enroll in grad school, I can play QB. Can we do any worse?
  8. I think it's a lock. 1-11 again. At least we are consistent.
  9. I see some very good athletes, who can put the ball into the basket. We are going to be very very good this year.
  10. Anyone know if there is a video feed?
  11. Not only ttat, but the kick is high percentage, probably 98%. Thr two point conversion, statistically for a team with our record, is probably no better than 25% at best. So he played 3-1 odds against. I would like to play poker with him. I need the money.
  12. EXCEPT FOR THE LAST FOUR SECONDSIDIOT COACH(That must be what iCoach means - IDIOT COACH)
  13. So let me understand this:FOUR SECONDSDown one point.Extra point goes to overtimeZips have MOMENTUMAnd he goes for two? With a team that has barely scored a TD all year?FIRE THIS IDIOT COACH
  14. There are 11 defenders on the field, but 10 of them don't tackle. Thus, #2 in the nation.
  15. LR8 is bringing in a dimension that Nicely never had. He can run with the ball and get first downs and touchdowns. If he ever plays for a real coach he might be pretty good.
  16. Ummm...my webcast quit at the end of the 1st quarter. It says "Stream not found" now. Anyone else able to watch? It's back on GREAT INT
  17. And now the webcast is down. Typical. At least this year I am not paying for it.
  18. I like LR8 He is a play maker. We will get good things for a few years out of this guy.
  19. Actually, I think he played pretty well on Sat. That fumble was hardly his fault, hang onto that one and the game ends differently. Or maybe the missed extra point was his fault? Hey, maybe it's Bush's fault
  20. And what makes you think that someone with a coaching job at UCLA is going to leave that for AKRON?Anyway, please don't hijack the thread. This is not about "who" we could get.The question is, should UA take a shot at getting Hix if his playing days are over? With his experience, I think it could be a great fit.Because he'd be a Head Coach at a D-1A school instead of an Offensive Coordinator? JD didn't seem to have any problem leaving a longtime OC job at Pitt to take over a D-1A program as the head guy. I'd love to see us pursue Johnson too. Hixon? Has he ever coached anything? Maybe a WR coach somewhere would be more fitting? For those of you who haven't noticed, I am wholeheartedly against bringing a particular D-2 coach up to our level, and he is an Akron alum. So, how on earth could I find a way to support bringing in another ex-player who hasn't even coached at all?I really find that these kinds of discussions add to our "small time" complex. Becoming our football coach makes you the head of one of the 120 schools who are at the highest level of college football. That should attract interest from a heck of a lot more good candidates than an ex-player with low level experience, or no experience at all. Vrabel took a LB job this year with OSU. It was his first coaching experiance anywhere. Hixon could coach special teams or WRs or be a special assistant to get his feet wet.As I stated in the OP, I am just floating the idea. Hix knows more about the "Pro Offense" then iCoach ever will if he lives to be 200 years old.

That should attract interest from a heck of a lot more good candidates than an ex-player with low level experience, or no experience at all.I agree that he probably has no coaching experience. He did however write several blogs, for the Broncos and then the Giants. He is a favorite "interviewee" for the sports writers and broadcasts in New York, which seems to show intelligence and knowledge. And how many of these other folks mentioned have a Super Bowl ring or started for an NFL team. THAT means a lot. At least, I think it does. I am not saying he would start as head coach. Just an assistant coach, without a doubt he can impart much to our receivers (who need ALL the help they can get) and ST guys. If he progresses, maybe he would end up as head coach. I mean, what do we really have to lose at this point. Bringing in a guy who made the NFL from AKRON might mean something.
  22. He is on IR. I think he is still collecting that 1.4 million salary, and obviously they would probably be delighted to stop paying him. Last year when he got hurt they put him on waivers, and no one claimed him. At this point I doubt ANYONE would pay him as a future player. He knee is shot, he has been in the NFL since 2006 and missed three seasons with injury. I just think he is done as a player, and they would release him. Of course, I am certain he will continue to collect his salary as long as he can. But I think this is an option we should look at.

  24. Didn't he earn a Chemical Engineering degree in something like 3 years? He's too smart to return here.LOL
