You may be correct about the immigration angle. My point about the coach is this: A player assaulted another player in practice. Not a dispute or fight, apparently he sucker punched him. We do not know the backstory, and no doubt (in my mind having seen it many times) his lawyer will play the race card in his defense. That being said, something is wrong when something like this happens. A TEAM needs to have chemistry. Right now they have none. This is up to the coach, remove the bad apple(s) and get some TEAM going again.

A Judge CAN accept a guilty plea to the charges... However, I am in New York and I know our laws and cases do differ. There was a case in NY where a driver was charged with DWI and pleaded guilty at the arraignment. A person later died as a result, and the driver was able to beat it....NOT. However, I have never, in 30 years working in the Courts, seen a Judge accept a guilty plea IN ARRAIGNMENTS, over the objections of the DA. It does of course happen down the road in a case, where the Court sets the sentence since the plea is to all the charges. In THIS case, I seriously doubt the Police consulted with the defendant on what to charge him with! Rather, they probably (tried) questioned him. AND consulted with school authorities and the witnesses and victim The defendant has NOTHING to say about what he is charged with. NOT his call. Any case arising on a campus is a sensitive matter, especially when the accused is a scholly BB player. So that is more likely the delay in charging. Politics, always politics. I could tell you stories about the Lone Stars back in the day, POLITICS.

Get real. There was no arrest in that case. The woman did not make the complaint, her friend did. This is way way more serious. This guy will never wear an Akron uniform again.

This is not a team. It is a rabble. There is a problem, and it starts with the coach. He has lost control. He either gets it back or the season is done. And once again every reasonably good player departs.

You need to take some law courses. Jeopardy attaches when the first juror is sworn or when the first witness is sworn in the case of a bench trial. Do NOT assume anything about any "deal" having been made. They can still go to the Grand Jury and secure an indictment. From what I read in the article (and I believe little of what I read in the newspapers) this is deserving of a Felony. Knocked unconscious and teeth knocked out. Serious physical injury.

Holy sh*t! He must be a bruiser, K-Lac is one of the last people I could imagine wanting to fight. Might not be the greatest BB player, but that is one big dude.

The biggest issue with K-Lac is fouls - OFFENSIVE FOULS - moving screens! I blame this on the coaching staff! OK, he is a step behind and that is why he gets caught. So for goodness sakes, post him up and tell him NO MOVING SCREENS. He has the best touch around the bucket of any of our bigs. We NEED points at Center. NEED. Under the KD system he would be scoring 10 PPG. Because he would be used properly as a post, in-out player. I concede, JC had more success in the MAC than KD - won a game or two in the Dance!! However, he had DJ Cooper and Armand Basset. He does not have them now. Time to start using what he does have - 1 6'11" big who is capable of scoring. We could NOT be any worse at center than we are right now. NO production. NO threat to take it inside. Stop chucking 3's, it is NOT working. Rant over.

I am going with give K-Lac a chance. He does know how to score. Our center play is a joke.

Looks like we got 9 points total at center. Zeke and Big Dog both had 1000+ point careers. This has to change or we will not win in the MAC.

We lost by 6 to the #6 team in the US on their Court. I will take that any day. Ranked teams lose to each other by more than that every day.

Should have played Sayles. He is athletic and has great timing. Should not have gone small. Makes no sense when we were getting killed on the boards. Too too many threes attempts. Poor coaching IMHO

Ivey and Utomi were both off their game. We probably can not win without both of them making a major contribution.

A couple of observations: First, I will take a 3 point loss to #19. Winning is better, but this is a good sign for the season. Second, if only Jackson had taken that layup. Might have been a different ending. Should have played Klac and Sayles more. They were a better matchup. Needed the height and bulk of Klac, he was good the short time he played. Sayles has that defensive stretch we really needed. Center is still a weakness against a beast like Thomas. This was the first outing against real competition for this team. It took a while to gel, but they acquitted themselves well. I expect some wins in this tournament, we barely lost to the best team. And no, there were NO issues in the broadcast for me. I have a Samsung Smart TV with the facebook live app, and it was the best Zips hoops stream I ever saw, every bit as good as live HDTV.

Works on my Samsung Smart TV and so far is way better than ESPN3 (which does NOT work directly on the TV).

Is there any streaming video for these games? Nothing listed on gozips.

Klac has been a big (no pun intended) disappointment. But it is so hard to give up on a guy that size
