  1. That last "steal" was a mugging.
  2. He scored 48 points in a game and that is a record. PERIOD
  3. OK, since people insist on going there, lets adjust Len Pauls career totals in an era with no shot clock and no three point line AND no dunks allowed.
  4. So what do you want, an asterisk in the record book?
  5. We have the biggest issue at center. K-Lac fouled out, no Sayles, no E-Man, no answer for a 6'9" center! Yikes, that is awful. Our biggest problem right now is depth. We don't have any. In the KD years he rotated 8 or 9 players, this year we are stuck. Time will cure this, but this year is tough.
  6. Still needs a haircut. But it does make him easy to identify when they wear those grey uniforms. Can't see the numbers on ESPN3 TV
  7. In recent history we have had freshmen who we HATED who turned into beasts. This poster once called Big Dog a "boat anchor". This poster used to scream at the screen when Deji walked onto the Court. Antino was nothing to rave about as a freshman. Zeke was a good rim defender, but was always in foul trouble. Our current frosh have great potential. I see POY written all over K-Lac. Had a rough start, last night gets 10 points and how many dives to the floor? This guy loves to shoot, had to get his sea legs. He will be another Big Dog as a senior. Parrish has all the tools. Going to be a monster junior and senior. I did not like Cotton at all in the beginning. He is already close to playing like a junior. He plays big for a (relatively) small guy. We do have potential for a fairly good finish, and a better future. The youth of this team hurts us now, but will be a home run in a couple of years. And after the last two games, I can understand why no one was after K-Lac - they just didn't have Groces crystal ball. Mark my words, in two years people will be asking: How did that guy ever wind up at Akron?
  8. K-Lac is going to be a beast. All he needed was confidence, and I think that is 50% there. Lots of room to improve, but can only go up.
  9. THERE IS A NEW CENTER IN TOWN
  10. There was a certain defensive football player DUH
  11. That is exactly what NCAA wants. We are nothing but fillers at the Dance and revenue from ESPN.
  12. Very very unlikely since they can transfer to another P5 team and play. This is a screwing for the mid majors. Where it WILL help is recruiting - you can get a top recruit who knows he will sit at tOSU for a year, but can play in the MAC, get noticed and get out. So we might get some good one year wonders, then lose them. With no sitting out a year, there is NOTHING to keep a major quality player at Akron, Buffalo, Toledo, Kent State et al.
  13. Nope. It means that a real star mid-major can transfer to a P5 to have a better shot at the NBA. Killer for schools like us.
  14. K-Lac did a great job on Thompson. One bright spot. However, we suffer from PDD = Points Deficit Disorder.
  15. How the hell was that not a T???? Is one of these refs really Bo in disguise?
  16. And again K gets knocked to the floor and no whistle.
  17. How many times is Thompson going to knock K-Lac down before they call it?
  18. I didn't think much of Cotton at the start of the season. I admit I was WRONG. He is a baller!! No, I would NOT trade him for TDM. Not for Antino either. He is the real deal.
  19. It looked to me like he was knocked cold. K-Lac continues to draw cheap fouls, yet he made key play. Needs to learn better body control, he is athletic.
  20. Open heart surgery at his age! How awful. Hope he fully recovers and lives a long and fruitful life. Back at the ranch, K-Lac has to grow up in a hurry.
  21. I agree with you. But what I am seeing now We don't play defense. At all. MAC opponents do what ever they want offensively. We have no offensive scheme. No plays. Nothing. Just stand around and take a shot once in a while. I blame all this on the coach. We can make a better showing than this.
  22. I agree with everything you said. BUT we have to take a shot at teaching him to be a D1 center. You can teach basketball, you can't teach height. And who else do we have that can play center?
  23. Getting the minutes has nothing to do with it. He is our best hope to salvage the season. BECAUSE 6'11". The only possible center we have.
  24. He loves to score. He is big. He can run. He needs to post up and force the defense into coverage so we can get open looks outside. I say play him. At this point there is nothing to lose. We suck. There, I said it.
  25. We have a guy who is 6'11". He is in good shape and is athletic. He is also very very raw. He needs to learn to post up. We are totally lacking in post play. Groce put him in to counter their big men who were killing us on the boards. If we have to waste half the season training him, so be it. Having him in the post is the future of this team. We have to play the cards we were dealt. No one has been effective at center, he has the best potential because of his size. Right now he is under too much pressure because he only gets a few minutes a game. Coach has to make that adjustment, let him learn by doing.
