  1. Avenatti is the newest recipient of the Darwin Award. A man who has not filed a Federal Tax return in 10 years "probably" should not appear on cable news night after night poking the bear (President) and announcing a run for President. And then trying to blackmail a giant company with buildings full of lawyers. He didn't shoot himself in the foot, he blew both legs off with a Bazooka. BYE FELICIA
  2. Do we have a shot at any of these guys?
  3. While they have a great hoops legacy and are an excellent school, they can be difficult to recruit for: Like Akron, they are mostly a "Townie" school. Only 25% of students live on campus or in University housing. That has a serious impact on campus life, for people who care about that. It is an urban campus in Queens New York. It is about 104 acres, which is not much at all when you look at some of the P5 schools. It is a Catholic University, which may not be a positive thing if you are not Catholic (or even Christian). Overall, it is a tough place to be a coach. They play in a major conference and there are great expectations, but have less to offer some recruits than some other places. BTW, if you want to eventually become a Judge in NYC, especially Queens, St Johns Law School is THE place to go.
  4. St. Johns is very very high profile in the NYC area. I am not sure he is a fit, they are very conservative (for an educational institution).
  5. Dude, we didn't have a team this year to start with.
  6. Competition for recruits is now going to be intense in the MAC. Akron, Buffalo an OU all need to find a team, maybe others too.
  7. That's too short! We already have enough short.
  8. Just not that athletic. Did not play well around the bucket. he had a few great three point games, but this year the shot was usually just not there. Since he graduated, I suspect that hoops is secondary and he is looking for a "name" school to get his masters. He does not seem, at this point, to have a future in any professional league.
  9. Pay attention: I said a team that needs SOME points. Not a team that needs a TEAM.
  10. Utomi can transfer in and play right away. That may be helpful to a team that needs some points right away along with the stability of a fourth year player.

  12. And we had a 5'7" PG He led us right to.....
  13. I guess all those 21 game winning seasons and trips to the Dance and MAC championships meant nothing. After the last two disasters I YEARN for those years.
  14. Compared to the last two years? Are you kidding me?
  15. So we had Zeke at 7, Tree at 6'8, Pat at 6'11, Reggie and Jake at 6'7 We were successful when we were TALL.
  16. Toles and Roscoe really didn't play.
  17. I can listen to Frenchie. You thought you just won the internet, didn't you?
  18. I am looking forward to Groce getting off his keister and recruiting some actual D1 players.
  19. Close your eyes. You really don't want to see that lineup.
  20. If he goes to the Mac I hope we get him. Would prefer not to play against him.
  21. By Jim Baumbachjim.baumbach@newsday.com @jimbaumbachUpdated March 25, 2019 6:37 PM PRINT SHARE Stony Brook has decided to promote assistant coach Geno Ford to become its next basketball coach, according a person familiar with the situation. Ford, an assistant at Stony Brook under former head coach Jeff Boals for the past three seasons, was previously a head coach at Division I programs Kent State and Bradley. Ford, 44, takes over for Boals, who left Stony Brook last week to become the head coach at his alma mater, Ohio University. Ford coached Stony Brook last week when it lost in overtime at South Florida in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational. Ford's experience as a Division I coach combined with the players' and administrators' comfort level with him made him a leading candidate once Boals left. Ford was expected to join Boals at Ohio —where they were college teammates —if he didn’t get the Stony Brook job. Ford takes over a Stony Brook team that finished second in the America East and is in position to potentially return nearly its entire roster. Up first on Ford’s to-do list will be to convince leading scorer Akwasi Yeboah to stick around for his final year of eligibility. Stony Brook confirmed Saturday that Yeboah, a first team All America East player, placed his name in the transfer portal, giving him the option to leave. He is on track to graduate, meaning that as a graduate student transfer he would not have to sit out a season before playing.
  22. They dominated the boards and did not allow Buffalo to drive inside. Must jump higher. Like when Eman added 20" to his vertical leap.
  23. The roster is a joke. We have only 2 D1 players You can put lipstick on a pig, fact is we sucked and the top scorer left and the only center with any potential at all just left.
  24. Two returning D1 players 9 returning bench warmers who could not transfer to a MAC school.
