  1. The only I-AA school I would even consider wanting us to schedule is YSU because of the rivalry and potential for a large crowd. Otherwise, it's not worthwhile and would contribute to the stigma that we have a second class program.I would love to see us Play YSU on a semi-regular basis. What makes you think we would beat YSU on a regular basis?
  2. Wow, I forgot about Brinson. What ever happened to him?I thought I read that Harvey was back in school. That is why I asked.
  3. Did Harvey make the grades and will he be on the team this fall?
  4. Rob Schoenhoft.
  5. No, that award will go to Jarvis Givens
  6. Nemer is a greedy SOB. He is way overcompensated and you guys still defend the POS...
  7. Somehow, I imagine, 50 years from now, after UAkron becomes Summit State, after the cuyahoga river floods Akron, after WWIII, after the State of Ohio goes into default and sells several counties to neighboring States, and after Aliens land and sequester large areas of all major cities for human prisoner camps, there will still be people from this board saying "See, and that just proves the property owners on exchange got way too much money"You had me up until the aliens in large city part. I think they will run the entire world, not just major cities
  8. You're right about Kennedy, but he hardly played last year because he was only the third best RB on the team. The problem with Jacq is that he is in the game every play. The problem with Kennedy is that he likes to run east/west too much.Kennedy has tailback size and strength, but fullback style and ability. Not a very good combination. He usually runs right into the pile and can't run over or outrun anyone.
  9. It seems that they go through a new coach every few years because they hire good coaches. They have amways found a good replacement. This time will probably be the same.
  10. You guys are all forgetting Rydell Brooks. He was a Freshman regular on an NCAA tourny team. He redshirted and has a year in this system. I think he will be a player.
  11. Wood will be missed immensely.
  12. If CJ is the starter, we are in trouble.
  13. Akron is tired too. We need this win. am tired of getting close.
  14. I hear that he and Jarvis Givens have been hanging around on campus together.
  15. CJ7 is no longer a Zip. But I do agree...I don't see him improving, regardless of where he ends up. If it does, we are in a world of hurt. No one is banking on them. That's why we signed the JUCO guys. They are the key to the WR position this year. That, and a QB that can get them the ball. You had said Harvey was in school. Is Lindsey in school too?
  16. I've heard similar rumbling. I think it would be awesome. From what I've heard, he has a legit shot in the NFL as a DB. But probably not as an RB. It would also allow us to put our best 22 players on the field, instead of sitting Allen or Johnson. He has not played there for 4-5 years. How could he be ready in 1 year?If he is that talented, certainly get him on the field. t would be amazing if he can make the transformation that quickly though.I agree, get the best 22 on the field.
  17. This could be a silver lining. "IF" these guys can ll be healthy by MAC tournament time, they will be able to win. Then the younger guys will have some good game experience. Positive thinking.
  18. Harvey completing a degree would be the best day in JD's coaching tenure.Well said. That would be a victory for all of UA. That's what these guys are supposed to be in coaching for to begin with, right - to help mold and develop the next generation's young men. Go David Harvey! Even if you never suit up for the Zips again, we're all pulling for you to get your degree!I spoke with Harvey a few weeks back and he told me that his grades were all in order and that he would be on the field with the Zips next year for sure. he just had alot going on in his life last year and it interfered with his academics.By "next year" do you mean 2009?No, this football season coming up he said he will be on the field for us. When he said next year he was refering to the next football season. If he is in school now and doing well, he should be able to play spring ball. That would be huge seeing that he missed an entire season.
  19. At least this gives Bardo more experience. Silver lining time.
  20. According to scout, he was the #8 rated RB and a 4*
  21. Harvey is in school this semester. That's all I know. "Rodgers TO HARVEY ... 20, 10, 5, TD AKRON!!! Akron NOW leads Kentucky ... " < POOF! > ... WHOA, where am I?Well, Harvey would have a year back and Rogers would have a year of experience. It could happen.
  22. we do not have 85 guys on scholly. That is the limit.
  23. Not to mention Jason Taylor geting early recognition.
  24. That is actually a pretty good analogy. Unfortunately it is also an incubator for coaches.
  25. Remember he is still in high school though. If he gets a RS year combined with colleges S & C program, he could be up to 240lbs by his RS freshman year and keep growing from that point on.Jason Taylor wasn't that much bigger.
