Thats part of the reason the Akron football is in the state that it is in. Fans and the media are more interested in OSU. Always have been,always will be. Its called front running. Just a suggestion, but you may want to invest in a map. Sad but true. All the local media cares and talks about is a university that is in the southern part of the state. Basically they say screw you to the colleges that are local.

Actually the liberal theory works. We don't want to beat other teams and make them sad. We want everyone to be the winner at our expense. You add that in to building facilities, a stadium and then hiring a coach only to lose more and more money and this is liberalism in a nutshell. I think we have a winner.

I would take every coach on that list over Fickel. Sadly, I don't think Akron will pay what it takes to get any of those coaches. Those guys probably make more being assistants where they are than they would make as the HC here. Not only that, but I don't believe any of them would want the task of taking over the worst program in D1 Hopefully I am wrong.

It doesn't matter what you have done, it only matters what you will do. Tressel has no history of success beyond lying and cheating. Where is the evidence that lacking lying and cheating he will win at Akron? Again, he did NOTHING that had an impact on th game. Kids sold their personnal stuff and got other free things from people outside of the program (as is pretty much tradition at every other program in the country) NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING JT did had any effect on the game it's self. He didn't pay any kid to come to OSU, he didn't shoot kids up with roids, he didn't steal the other teams playbook, he didn't film the other teams practice. Let it go dude. Haters are going to hate. He has the most BCS wins of any coach yet they talk about his record in big games. Enough said right there. I wish our problem was we couldn't beat the USC, Texas, or the SEC in big games. He played Texas twice. Beat them once and lost the other on a dropped TD pass near the end of the game. USC was a disaster. Florida was a disaster. He played in the NC game against LSU the year after his Heisman trophy winning QB and 2 NFL WR and NFL RB graduated...Yeah, terrible coach..LOL Buckzip...you have become one of the best examples I know of a OSWho fan who looks at your team through red and silver colored glasses. The ONLY win in those 6 games for OSWho was against a Texas team that just lost their own Heisman candidate to the NFL, and was starting a brand new QB, in his second start. Funny how you used that point to make excuses, but CONVENIENTLY forget the same fact when it contributed to your ONLY win in that 6 game stretch. So, could we just use your logic and say that this series of games should be regarded as a 0-6 record? I know. I'm just a "hater" for pointing this out. 72 days or some longer period?? I think Tressel would consider it. He is an ohio guy and has made enough money. Tressel is a NE Ohio guy. He coached at Akron and loves Akron. He doesn't need the money. I doubt he ever goes to another high profile program because he doesn't need the hassle. That being said, skippy is right. He is probably going to get a show cause and not be coaching any time soon.

Although there are a couple posters here that are too hateful to want Tressel, he would save this program and bring us instant cred and respect, along with great recruiting. However, he is probably going to get a show cause and won't be coaching in college for a while, if ever.

As I've already said, his best chance of being employed after Saturday is to hope the new coach keeps him at his alma mater as an assistant. How humiliating must it be to find out that your school is looking for another coach when you are only about 10 games into your tenure? He's clearly shown that he's not head coaching material by not only looking clueless, but by taking OSWho's talent and posting a .500 record with a Big 10 schedule and Toledo, Akron, and Miami as your OOC. And heck, he even lost to one of those teams, and almost lost to another. This team started the season ranked #17, and now isn't getting a SINGLE Top-25 vote. Yep, that's the proven leader and winner that we want for our program There is a good chance that he will remain on Meyer's staff so he won't be available anyway. Your childish antics aside, I can't believe I actually agree with you.
