The problem that a lot of these underdogs have when going against the larger programs is they think they can try to keep the score low and stay into it. That rarely works. Akron should come out firing on all cylinders and try to take OSU off guard. None of this run. run, sack, punt BS. OSU is bigger and faster by a lot. The only way to counter that is to do what they aren't expecting. Use the OSU speed to Akrons advantage. Counters, traps qb draws, swings, screens. Dont' play the typical let's see if we can keep it close and then get lucky at the end crap. Make the team know you are trying to win Coach. Make them know you beleive in them.

I remember when it seemed like Akron always had a good kicker. Heckman, Graham, Klaus, I can't remember them all, but it seemed like up until the last 10 years, we used to have really good kickers.

While I don't agree with the rules, rules are rules. They are idiots for what they did. They know the rules...as well as a 21 year old can understand a 450 page ncaa rule book. The ncaa is full of idiots for rules like this. It's hard to break a pattern of bad behavior all at once. Their previous coach didn't seem to think rule applied to him, so why would his former players? He was a great example for them. No disagreement with the first part at all. The rest is your bias and opinion. This happened a while back. These players have gone through about as many compliance meetings and lectures as they have practices. One of the players, Travis Howard, went to LF and told him this happened a while back. That is how this came to light. If you don't think this happens nearly everywhere, you are mistaken. The difference is that OSU is so damn paranoid right now, they self report everything. Does self reporting make everything ok? No, it doesn't. However, you don't read or hear about other schools doing it. As one guy on the Florida board said, 90% of DI schools don't want the NCAA snooping around their campus. That is why most rarely self report.

Reading his story from high school reminds me of the story of Stefan Georgevic from Ampipe High school. He disagreed with the coach and got labeled a black sheep. My dad grew up in Ambridge, PA, so I always got a kick out of that. But I'm REALLY gonna be pissed if CM8 is only 5'7" I wondered if anyone would catch that. Old movie and I know I spelled names wrong. The yard trashing scene is classic Believe it or not, other than Top Gun, that is my favorite Cruise movie.

I still say there is a 9 percent chance this "anger" or whatever ever sports page writer is calling it, may work against them. We need Columbus to make an early mistake due to this "anger" and see how the new coach & QB react to it. Put a gun to my head and I agree with Columbus covering, but I am just hoping that they somehow implode and blame it all on the tattoos, Pryor, the NCAA, ESPN, losing their hypocrite coach, and whatever else excuse they can muster up. I think the Zips will struggle against most angry opponents that have Parade All-Americans at pretty-much every position. Not even close. My bad. This is just my personal opinion, but the best way to draw fans is "WIN SOME FREAKING GAMES. Even some of the national powers attendance drops dramatically when they are down. USC didn't draw well when they were down. Miami even worse. Those fans only go see winners Big bandwagon jumpers.There are other things to do in SoCal and Miami on a Saturday. Akron, there isn't as much.

We have depth at RB/FB. Rossi was a highly rated LB. We are a little thin at LB. I appreciate Coach I letting him play where he wants, but someone needs to let him know that if he ever wants to be paid, it will more likely come on defense. IMHO

I'm pretty sure he transferred out. Dissappointing to me; I thought/think he has a lot of potential. IIRC, I remember after ICoach was hired they interviewed him and he said he commited to the school, not the coach. Well, I guess he realized the coach that recruited him was a bit different than the one that coached him. To me, and I may be wrong, he was Akron all the way. Coach I made him change his mind.

Sicne the season hasn't started he could transfer to any DI school also. He hasn't redshirted so he will still have 2 years to play.
