  1. Mike Seabolt (WVA coach) is a douchebag. A .500 record with no class. I love those sorry excuses for the loss. Back to the hills, jerkface!!!!
  2. Using this theory, there is no telling where all of us have been. Basically, effluence flows after treatment to the streams, rivers and oceans. In essence, most of us have been everywhere utilizing the "fecal chaos" theory. And in particular, I'd say all of it flows towards Huntington, land of the Terds.
  3. Omigosh...based on the ABJ article, I booked a flight to Orlando for Saturday AND purchased an autographed J.B. Brookhart football on Ebay. Thanks, ABJ for your continuing mission toward journalistic excellence. What douche bags!! Maybe the writer of the article thought, hmmm, Akron plays Miami on Saturday isn't that in Florida, must be near the center of the state???? D*cks
  4. Jim Dennison ran a very respectable program. But the community support, except for the annual Acme-Zip game was never very strong. I remember the Akron-No. Mich game. I froze my butt off that day, but what a great win for the Zips!!
  5. I hope you are right about the crowd..It was distressing to see so many leaving before the game's end Saturday. I take solace in the fact that this pretty much happens at every sporting event I attend, Indians, Cavs, Browns, etc. Score-wise, I think you are on the right track on our 37 points. I think we can put up some numbers. I have more confidence in the D, however, and I predict they will stuff the CMU offense and give up no more than 2 td's. NIU's offense was a real test for our guys, who really wore down in the fourth qtr. I just do not see CMU challenging our D that way.
  6. The Rubber Bowl is about 8-10 miles off campus near George Washington Blvd. and Triplett Blvd. (check mapquest). No hotels worth mentioning near the bowl. Hotels are available just south of Akron on I-77, also downtown on Mill Street, quite close to campus and in the Fairlawn area (just north of Akron on I-77). Some of my Akron brethren may be more up to date on the campus bar scene, but there is BW3 on Exchange St near campus, the Sun Grille and a plethora of bars on South Main St off Exchange near campus (Jillians, Lime Spider, etc.) Enjoy the trip, just not the game! Safe traveling.
  7. Early signing for basketball (initial Date) is November 9th through November 16th. Late signing is April 12 through May 17th (2006)
  8. Obviously, we have no real indicator of our team's abilities, as yet. Playing Purdue, in their big house, with a new QB against a veteran D, tells me little. Our men had some moments (not flushes!!!) of brilliance, and I was encouraged by a lot of things. However, we should have rocked MTSU, IMO. There is some flaming on the Northern Ill boards. But this was expected. They are very good, however, they haven't been tested yet, either. You cannot read anything significant into their Michigan loss nor their win against 1-AA Tenn. Tech. I am the etenal optimist, however. I know that JD is upgrading the program by leaps and bounds, we've played well at the Rubber Bowl and it is our home opener. Any thoughts on crowd size Saturday?
  9. Outstanding pickup for us. Looks like Keith and the staff have a done a great job for the future.
  10. Hey TERDboy--have some good times in your road trips to El Paso!!! Thanks for the wonderful memories of your last game here----LOSERS! And the trip before that one--BIG LOSERS!!! And by the way dirtbag, there were about 30,000 witnesses to your debacle. Goddard rolling on the ground in agony as the Zips celebrated was about the best sight ever.
  11. Disappointed. Yes. Bummed and depressed. Absolutely not. Absolutely no one (except perhaps for the team and the coaching staff, and maybe not even them) felt this team would finish with 19 wins. What a bright future we have--looking forward to see what these guys bring to the court next season. I couldn't be prouder of their effort. Go Zips!!
  12. Like all of you, I'm proud of what the men have done all season. They have been confronted by the face of adversity and have met the challenge. If anyone had suggested that an 18+ win season was possible, I'd have thought they were nuts or had a serious mental deficiency. Things looked mighty grim when J. Wood went down. But something funny happened--these guys believed in themselves and each other and now...well, lets keep the dream alive. The JAR should be rocking..even some of the corpses in the lower level have started to gyrate. Hurons, shmurons, lets go Zips!!!
  13. Those depictions of slo' mo had me rolling.
  14. great format--keep up the good work! Go Zips.
