There is certainly some diversity of opinion here. There are many valid points made, some not so. But PLEASE REMEMBER what obstacles we overcame this season--injuries, surgeries, etc. Please REMEMBER how frustrating the Hipsher years were and how many "ONE AND DONE" years we experienced at the MAC tourney and how mediocrity became the norm. Coach has done an incredible job in just a few years and the future looks hopeful if not bright. But also REMEMBER that the snub last year is a reminder to all. It is a function (somewhat toward our scheduling but more specifically) of the disrespect for the MAC--I will be very curious to see where Can't is seeded in the tournament. Ultimately we must build the program that defies the snubs--irrespective of the direction from whence it comes.I must say that I am indeed proud of the team's accomplishments this year--picked what, to be 4th in the East? KD will bring players in that will compete--Christian and Can't will bring in JUCO's and some guys with questionable character--I like what we have and how Keith has tried to build this program from the shambles and the disappointment it had become.Insofar as the crowd at the game, as I sat in a hotel room in Philadelphia (watching with a Can't grad, no less?&*%!!), I thought that the crowd was decidedly a Can't State crowd. But this was partly because I thought that their crowd was into the game and we had little to cheer about. In essence, their performance took us out of the game--and once the outcome was obvious---they kept showing the Can't crowd repeatedly.Go Zips!!

I Guess To me, it (Mollaut's rant) was intended to be reminiscent of the style of General George Patton's speeches to his troops in WWII which were fraught with fervor and venom in an effort to motivate.Of course, we must remember that Patton, like the "Sweaters" we all despise, was in his limousine (sound like the sweater's perception of themselves??)which was roundly struck head-on by a truck killing Patton. So I suppose one could proffer that the night of the game, Coach Keith and the rest of the Zips portrayed the role of the "truck" smashing into the Miami "limo" and putting an end to the silly rhetoric espoused by one of the nattering nabobs of negativism in the Redhawk camp.Go Zips!!

That young man seems like a real winner, on a number of levels. It will be great to see him competing for the good guys.Go Zips!! -
I think that you mean Marvase Byrd from McKeesport who signed a LOI with the Zips recently. I hope that he is helping with the recruiting "pitch".Go Zips!!

From his interview, he sounds like a sound-thinking, thoughtful and level-headed young man.He said all the right things and appears to be a real winner. It seems that his mom helped to make him mentally tough--hope it translates to domination on the football field. From his height, it looks like that he will be on the O-line---where great athletes are always needed and there never seem to be enough.Go Zips!!

Frenchie has that voice of impending gloom, disaster and doom just after the ball got past Owens initially..then the rising cresendo of unbridled virtuosity!! What a great byte!! Go Zips!!

French announced on WNIR that the video of the play is going to be shown on ESPN's Football rap-up at 2 PM this afternoon.I can't get home now to DVR it.Here's hoping someone will "youutube" it soon.Go Zips!!

Sitting there watching the (repetitive) dive play with Kennedy to the left guard "hole" was making me sick.In my view, while OSU was playing a great defensive game, we made zero adjustments at the half---those repeated passes to the flat, diagnosed by OSU every time were not the answer.I was proud of the D--they just wore down over the repeated pounding. I think there was one pass to Poindexter--Kasparek was never a factor that I saw--thereby allowing OSU to ignore that "weapon" all day.I am worried about this offense, or lack thereof. Go Zips!!

Since I will be in the Akron contingent at the game on Saturday, is there any indication as to how many tix did go out to Akron fans?Go Zips!!

I am so profoundly disappointed from the turn of events in the past 28 hours. And I, for one, cannot fathom how KD and the team deal internally with this devastation. I hope that they continue to be the "family" they have become and resolve that future tourney bids need to be fully in their control and not MAC officials and the "committees" that are engaged in good 'ol boy network policies. Like many of you, I ask where in the hell the MAC office was throughout the selection process? If they indeed had no role (or the clout) to support their member institutions than what is their purpose? For them to allow this egregious travesty was inexcusable.Go Zips!!

How about they get some shirts that don't look like they were soaked in a gallon of piss at the Rubber Bowl ? Wait...I guess that is appropriate.Go Zips!

Great sign!!! Go Zips, now beat the sweaters from Miami!!

As a lifelong Zips and Browns fan, I always want to see the teams that I support improve. I am not happy at the Browns' plight nor the position that they place themselves in each draft. But as an avowed "homer", while not blind to reality, I make no apologies for my view. That said, I believe that Andy Alleman could help to improve them. Simply put, if Andy does well, I would like to see him do well in a Browns uni. I will root for him anywhere, as I do for all of the Zips in the NFL.And no "wishing" him anywhere will make a difference. He will obviously go where he will go.Go Zips!!

Great game in a pretty hostile environment. The officiating (what a surprise!!) sucked. Thank goodness it kind of evened itself out. Dials got mugged several times and at the end of the first half he was body slammed. At the end of regulation, with the score tied, one of the officials left the court as he apparently thought the game was over. One of his fellow officials had to retrieve him and remind him the score was knotted up. I wonder if he was headed for the "BG shower"??Our guys and their sticktoitiveness was the difference. Now we need to maintain the intensity next week and beyond.Go Zips!!

Yeah, now they can pick up Andy Alleman in the draft and solidify things!!Go Zips!!

Thanks for all the effort.Having a Zips "fix" every evening after work and watching the recruiting wars progress has been most theraputic. (Now, back to my meds for a while!!!)Seriously though, just as we have ramped up the recruiting and the talent level has risen dramatically, it is great to know that the info you and others have compiled has been vital in helping to spark an incredible flurry of interest in the program and all Zips sports in general.Props to you Go Zips!! -
I remember the Peay from the the U of A OVC days. Middle Tennessee and Austin Peay, among others (who were the OVC teams when we were in the conference?)I never thought there was much of a rivalry but certainly some hard-fought games.Looking forward to the matchup.Go Zips!!

In checking a source at UVa it appears that Hill did not qualify there and would conceivably be enrolling with the Cavaliers in '08. That may have caused him to re-think his decision to de-verbal with us and commit to them. Grade issues are also the case with Almondo Sewell, a three star linebacker who committed to UVa out of Hargrave Military Academy who had been linked to the Zips along the recruiting trail. Does anyone know if we are still (or were ever) pursuing Sewell? If so, I hope we can get these young men qualified and finish recruiting strong.Go Zips!!

Rivals.com recently showed Vincent Hill de"verballing" with us and committing to UVa. However, the site had shown him as their verbal and now, his alleged commit to Uva is no longer. He is still shown by Rivals as "High" on UVa and the U of A. Is anyone hearing anything about this young man or does it look like it will be a signing day decision?Go Zips!!
