  1. My Warner-Cable programmer on the tv said the game was on at 2. Since I wouldn't be home I set the DVR. Just returned home and checked. I recorded the ONN bubblehead and weatherperson reading their stories...no game!!Maybe they hired the ABJ fact checker!!
  2. If this is the case, having 2 three star backs in the recruiting class is great news. This young man and Andre Boone from Va. (only Super Prospect recruit by any MAC school according to Hodges/CSTV) should have our opponents "on the run".Go Zips!!
  3. As I stated, you played a great game tonight. You held serve (and, as the ONN announcers said, the pressure was on you to do just that) and in February, it will be our turn to do so.Thanks for the qualifier that you were better "tonight". Now we'll see how all of us do in the MAC "grind" as the next few weeks unfold. And nothing stated herein negates the fact that your supporter from BG is an imbecile. Go Zips!!
  4. Why don't you prove your superior Appalachian intellect by writing in complete sentences? Perhaps at OU punctuation is unimportant, and I suppose the McDonald's in Athens may not care, but it would assist you in getting your point across in a more salient fashion to others. And in answer to your statement, you indicated that our team was overrated. If this was (and is) the case, why weren't we blown off the court? In essence, you were almost beaten by an (allegedly) inferior team. You guys played a great game tonight. This statement of respect is directed at the OU team and not you-so don't fall in love with yourself!By the way, suggesting that our coaching is poor is quite laughable. BobCrackKitty posters were ready to run Tim O. out of Athens on a rail for most of last season. You are "better than anyone in the league", you state? You have a loss in the MAC and so do we. Can't is still undefeated. Let us all see how things wash out after Sunday's games, okay?Good luck the rest of the way. Work on that sentence structure (and spelling, paying particular attention to possessives and contractions) in the meantime, okay? You'll be proud of yourself.
  5. I know, how could we compete with you guys? Plus, you "packed" the Convo. I know many of your posters on Bobkittyoncrack said you'd have 8 or 9 thousand. The announced crowd was less than 6K. Just remember when you said we "suck" so bad, because when you visit our house, we WILL embarrass you. You (barely) protected your house tonight. We will not be so kind.
  6. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"You guys on the Bobkitty site are nuts. If nothing happened, as you contend, than WHY are you so enamored with the subject?Take a chill pill man--why don't you and your crew go back to your site and whack each other off? What a bunch of insecure juveniles!!!
  7. No, you are not saying it, but your coaching staff is "saying" it to potential recruits. You have a great program. So why does your Head Coach engage in "puffing"?
  8. We, gave up on him?. Please. My, how philosophic. Truthfully, I could care less that he transferred. I do not think that anyone here said he was "weak". But if you read the verbiage quoted in the paper, it appears that he did not want to compete, at least for PT, with several other players. I thought, as I said earlier, that his reference to the enclave (at OU) of former Moeller HS people would give him a comfort level he did not have here.I do not wish him ill, and frankly, would prefer not to have any player with negative vibes hanging around our team. If your theory about his not wanting to live in the city is correct, I am sure he had a miserable time at Moeller H.S. and in Cincinnati.I wish him all the best, and hope the AK-Rowdies are as kind with him as OU fans were with Andy Hispher during his trips to the Convo.
  9. Yeah, we all aspire to live in Athens. Gateway to Appalachia. If you read anything Walther DID say, he indicated that many of his high school brethren attended OU. That could be a big plus for him. BTW, if your campus and surrounding area are a "huge" departure from all of the urban areas you mention, why is your football program not recruiting studs and dominating? You are not even competing at a reasonable level. Your football program S-U-C-K-S (and will continue to do so). Maybe you can communicate the greatness of the campus and its surroundings before letter-of -intent day.Buena suerte.Go Zips.
  10. ABJ- "Never let the facts gets in the way of your story".This is so typical. It would actually be comedic except that a news reporting organization has a responsibility to be accurate. I can see where mistakes can be made, but c'mon!! Over and over with the misinformation.
  11. CSTV.com lists Chris Condeni, 6'4" 270 lb. lineman as a Zips verbal. Looks like JD is stocking up on big boys--I guess you can never have too many.He anchored their offensive line this year (they had two losses), as they lost in the state playoffs to Tom Stacy's Massillon Tigers. Also, the MAC BBS is saying we have a verbal from a Florida safety. Anyone have specifics?Go Zips!!
  12. Years ago, as the multi-national rubber companies were leaving Akron (with the exception, of course, of Goodyear), the BJ frequently editorialized and criticized these acts and branded them, basically, as acts of blasphemy against a community that had given their hearts and souls to the corporate giants. In the midst of this period, and the resultant job loss which resonated throughout the community, Knight-Ridder (quietly) moved their corporate HQ from Akron to Miami, FL. That action spoke volumes to me and was but one example of their disingenuous behavior. They have "posed for holy pictures" one too many times in my view. I always considered this to be one of the great ironies of the BJ's history. Anything they do to promote the Zips is appreciated but I will always question their motives.
  13. If someone else already posted this, sorry. CSTV.com site shows this young man, 6'5" 290 lbs from Lyndhurst Brush de-committing from the Rockets and veballing with us. He was a 1st Team All-Ohio defensive tackle, although the site projects him as an OL. BTW, they show that the only Super Prospect verballing in the MAC thus far (out of 88 MAC verbals) as Andre Boone the RB out of Virginia who has verballed with us. Anyone have info on the de-commit? Go Zips!!
  14. Thanks for some great insights and perspectives on the game. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
  15. I had read a month or so ago that Sean Hakes had Ohio or Midwest "roots". I don't know specifically what that meant ( he or family members living or lived here???), but good for us. After reading the article on the double OT win for the Texas State football championship, and the description of the receiver's route and "slide" to catch the pass, it seemed that Hakes had thrown the same pass Getsy threw to Hixon for the win in Detroit. Beyond that, have we ever recruited anyone out of Texas prior to this young man?
  16. Sean Hakes with a resounding "NO" to our BGSU rivals!! Take that
  17. According to Rivals.com, a three star running back from Virginia Beach, VA., Andre Boone, has verballed with the Zips. Rivals listed him as the 40th best running back in the country and the pre-season 17th best player in the State of Va. WOW!! Apparently was VERY close to verballing with Boston College this past May. He is listed at 5'10", 179 lbs. with a 4.64 forty time. Let us hope this verbal (listed as "solid") turns into a letter of intent! Go Zips!!!
  18. I thought it was a great venue. The wife (and a lot of folks, let's be honest) would not have been at this game this late in the season exposed to the elements. But when you spend $350 million on a facility , it ought to be special.
  19. Hey man, meet me at Portside and we'll settle this matter. Oh wait, that multi-million dollar debacle closed, I forgot. What an embarrassment for your sad suburb of Detroit. Oh, BTW, eat me!!!
  20. Damn I enjoyed that three hour ride home. Un-frickin-believable. I had kind of prepared myself after NIU's last score for the ride home....thinking...hmmm, respectable showing against a good team and a great runner of Wolfe's caliber, JD and staff really prepared well... a couple of very bad calls... a few bad bounces of the ball...great effort by our men....and then, like an epic football movie, we rebounded, drove down the field and proceeded to slap the broken Pups back to Illinois. All week, we kept hearing about our "fluke" victory against them in OT. Well, tonight they got the "F" and we got the "LUKE". Great job to JD, his men and the ZipNation. Go ZIPS!!
  21. Enjoy the game sitting on Water street in Can't my friend.
  22. Any thoughts on what to do or where any pre-game activity is planned? I know that the NIU people are talking about Hockeytown. Any of you guys have any alternatives where Zip fans can gather?
  23. That is a great thing for the JAR. In the past (and no doubt in the future), most of the fans in the reserved seats need to be checked for a pulse, IMO. And if you are sitting next to me at the JAR this year, as in the past, don't give me the evil eye for the letting Keith's guys know there is some support for them. We need to get L-O-U-D and get into our opponents heads! GO ZIPS!!!
  24. Any predictions on our numbers at this BIGG (s) game on Thursday? I think JD and his men will represent us well on the field. How about us??? Go Zips. Time for the Huskies to express their anal glands again against us!!
