  1. 1. End around to Bruce nets 3 yards.2. I yell "stop running that *&$# play!!!" from my General Admission seating.
  2. Amazing article, I'll be rooting for Deni.
  3. To all who are going, make certain that you stop by downtown and sample some of the pizza and subs, even if it's 2am.PSU is just close enough to the east coast to have some ridiculously great I-talian food.
  4. CK I don't think I've ever relived so many moments of Akron football in one post before!!!!
  5. All right then, the wrist band thing is good advertising, but it's still borderline lame. But lets turn it into a positive. I am willing to suggest and participate in a new Tradition: if you are wearing that wristband on gameday it entitles the prisoner/wearer to some free food from any participating Tailgating fans.
  6. I remember seeing that new dorms will eventually block at least 50 percent of that view of Exchange St. Should look really nice and give a more enclosed feel to the Info!
  7. Hey 72, Keep that delicious Roo Brew out of the tailgate lots....NO GLASS ALLOWED lol. OK, think of it this way. Lets consider a "Full House" to be 25K in the stands. 6K*6games = 36,000 and lets be conservative and add in 2000 single game tickets sold so far and we come up with about 38,000 tickets sold BEFORE students. That is just over 1.5 games that are a "Full House". Factor in the students (2K per game for a total of 12K) and we are looking at 2 games with a "Full House", or about 1/3 of the way to a season of "Full Houses". Personally, I want to see some real "SELLOUTS" with the grass endzone full of students, etc. I think we have a good shot at 3 true "Full House" events to be honest and if we start winning, we may have 6!Rifle I love your dreams, but 6 sellouts ain't gonna happen I think we will exceed 7,000 season tickets and sellout Morgan State and IU. If we get on a roll our MAC home opener against OU could be next. But they travel poorly so we have to do it ourselves. Remember, though, we have to be a hot ticket then and that means beating MSU, IU and CMU. Can't has great potential to sellout. Who doesn't want to see us beat the piss out of them in the Info? That's it there. Temple and EMU are in November. Only Temple brings mild interest if we both are doing well. Still it is November and the crowds will diminish. If we pull off four games of near capacity attendance I will be thrilled. How about you? I hope I am proven wrong. I'll buy the Roo Brew to celebrate.
  8. Oh man, they are pretty good at this....
  9. Criminal of fun lol. And leaving early to beat traffic is the bomb...Like when my dad left early during that one Marshall game we were losing. I may be criminal, pal, but it is for being a CRIMINAL OF FUN!! What, are you one of Reserved Seating kinda guys who shows up AT gametime and leave with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter to "beat the traffic"? I know you better than that champ. mmmmmmmmmmm....Boone's Watermelon..............mmmmmmmmmmmm
  10. Ha ha, I seriously think these rules apply only to troublemakers, however they define it.
  11. Excellent......great idea....Now you're speaking the language of stealth!!!! At that point I will have had too many drinks to concentrate on the game and spell at the same time.Secret operatives who have access to the stadium before a game. You mean like... band members?
  12. Listen up pal, there are two kinds of people in this world, those who follow the rules, and then there are criminals like yourself champ. I bet you drive over the speed limit, or turn without signaling as well.So okay chief, go ahead and drink your ripple from a brown paper bag. Obstruct law abiding traffic with your outlaw frisbee playing on the pavement.....That's when I'll snitch you out to the authorities and you can go to jail. And you can bet jail will feel a lot smaller than the 10 x 10 restriction on tents.....NO STAKES ALLOWED.
  13. Ha ha, VISIONARY OF KEEN TRUTH for "The university of Akron"NEATEST, STINKY VIRTUE for "K.e.n.t. state University" HAHA, I understand. We'll work around it.
  14. Don't worry, there's still time for elite forces here at ZN to make sure spelling is correct and not looking too ransom-ish.For the record, an anagram of Zipsnation.org is "So Patronizing." Anyhow, here's a fun link to find out more anagrams:http://www.deanjackson.dj/nameanagram/index.php HAHA, I understand. We'll work around it.
  15. No no, act before the game, that's when you (or the ZN operatives) hang the banners. At that point I will have had too many drinks to concentrate on the game and spell at the same time.
  16. I have thoroughly researched the policies re: stadium banners.Since the largest banner size allowable is 24" x 36" why not spell out Z I P S N A T I O N . O R G with each banner representing a letter. You can hang banners anywhere as long as you're not covering up an advertisement....so how about along the wall in the grassy knoll/student area?****if the area isn't ready yet for seating, we may need some secretive, inside connections to hang the banner letters.
  17. Oh yeah, well....hmm, is it me or is it impossible to argue with this guy???PSU 84 you are quite possibly a candidate for forumer of the year at this rate lol.
  18. Was at the Giants game tonight in the Meadowlands vs. Carolina. Hixon is featured in a TON of awesome scoreboard video highlights!!! He started and had a key catch in a drive that led to a TD. I was looking but didn't see any Hixon jersey's but I talked to a lot of fans, he is well liked. Also they keep the in-stadium cams close up on Chase Blackburn on EVERY Giants kickoff!!!! He may not start at LB, but he is an unquestioned leader whenever he's on the field and it seems his job is to call/relay the plays to the rest of the defense. The fans love the energy he brings to the game, the guy is all over the place in a good way.p.s. they are building a new stadium right next to the old Giants Stadium. It's kind of hideous, looks like stainless steel scaffolding that resembles a parking garage, but it's not, it's an ugly new stadium.
  19. Tara Kaloz I love you.Put me in the category of liking Jim T. Very smart to have him contribute imho. GP1 write your book, it could be a great one.
  20. This is great!!!! Can't wait to see our soccer Zips in action this season.
  21. Pretty cool looking!!!! I do not believe we can. I'm not even sure how "some consensus" could exist. A consensus is one of those things that you either have or you don't. You probably should have asked, "Can we get some uninformed opinion on.........." We are good at that. Buffalo is not going to alter their stadium unless it starts hailing money. The stadium is on campus less than 20 years old and seats 30K. The only real problem for it is the running track.UB is going to build a field house, and a new athletics center on the north end to close the stadium
  22. Then you'll be not impressed with many scoreboards around the country.I've been to dozens of college campuses across the country and you'll find open spaces, gaps backsides that are crap. Many schools have the team emblem on the back of scoreboard on similar material UofA is using. TV has funny way of making some Jumbotrons better looking then they actually are in person. They're replacing the ones in Georgia Dome this season and the multi-million dollars one they're replacing were not all that fancy looking in person. What we have is light years better then what we had and couple gaps that common in big boards and tacky backside is not going to spoil what I feel is awesome scoreboard compared to that piece of crap at the Rubber Bowl.
  23. Man, I sort of knew this Skyway plan was going nowhere. Like it or not, we are still years away from having the immediate area around the Info cleaned up and put to best use. Opening day on September 12th will reflect this fact, as I am sure the sidewalks won't be fixed, landscaping will be incomplete and 10,000 people will be hopelessly crammed into Buffalo Wild Wings. I think the dorms, when complete, will be another tremendous catalyst for change....Patience, I suppose. ABJ: Skyway restaurant plan in holding patternSeveral months after a sign went up announcing a new Skyway Drive-In restaurant was planned for East Exchange and Spicer streets, in the shadow of a new University of Akron football stadium, no work has been done on the site. And it's not clear whether the plan will ever move forward. The sign announcing the restaurant is still there. But city of Akron Planning Director John Moore said no drawings or plans for the project have been filed with the city.Steve Large, owner of Skyway, said he does not know what is going on with the site.Read the article.
  24. To me Canal Park is a no brainer.Let the current baseball area revert to student use. So much of the public space on Lee Jackson Field has been lost to football and softball. I would watch them at canal park. i wouldn't at the field they play at, at least not often. i love baseball, i've played for 16 years, but my high school field has more seating, nicer dugouts, and our facilities weren't even the cream of the crop in our district. the place sucks quite frankly, and i'm surprised they get any D-1 recruits to begin with. I think it's incredibly stupid not to share Canal park.
