  1. Grambling missed an extra point...On with the Zips!!
  2. If this game's overtime last long, I'll be furious.
  3. It is going to get to the point where you have to be rich to go to collegeIt cost money to go to college?? I actually left college with more money than what I went their with. Boosters will build you houses and pay great wages. Signed, Reggie Bush, Maurice Clarett, Chris Webber,...
  4. Let me pose this question, what is the purpose of college athletics? It is NOT supposed to be about money. The purpose of athletics is to educate students in the ideals of good sportsmanship and self-discipline. Athletic activities must, in all cases, be consistent with the primary intellectual aims of the University. So, for not-for-profit institutions to only provide sports that "justify the financial means" denies individuals the opportunity to be thrust into leadership roles. Athletics benefits the Institution and society as a whole, by allowing individuals to "practice" being leaders before they enter the "real world." Athletics also educates students in the importance of integrity in sportsmanship. This translates to integrity in the workplace. Although I was never a college athlete, this was always the way I preceived the purpose of college athletics.

  6. Rookie free agent Chase Blackburn returned an interception for a touchdown in a 35-20 loss in Washington on Saturday, sprained his neck later in that game. Blackburn was placed on injured reserve on Monday. ESPN.com 12/26/05 Blackburn started again at Washington and returned his first NFL interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. He also had six tackles (three solo) and a special teams tackle. But in the third quarter, he sustained a hard blow to the head as he helped tackle Redskins tight end Chris Cooley. Blackburn was immobilized and taken from the field, and the injury was later diagnosed as a sprained neck. He underwent a series of tests and remained hospitalized overnight. Blackburn was released from the hospital yesterday, but will not be able to play in the regular season finale in Oakland or the playoffs. Giants.com
  7. Because I was at the game I could not see the penalty on the fumble/illegal touching penalty. It was too hard to make out on the jumbotron. Does anyone have some better info on it? The papers didn't say anything, sportcenter didn't even mention it, and I can't find any replay of it on the internet. Would like some discussion on this so I can sleep a little better .
  8. I agree totally. The organization was pretty bad. I stood in line at the will call window for 40 minutes. What would have happened if it was raining or even colder ? I know people were not expecting the lines. They were dressed for a football game in the dome so they weren’t dressed for the cold. Luckily I did make kickoff, but I know the hundreds behind me probably didn’t. What did they have, four people passing out the tickets  ? Whoever made the decision to pass out tickets this way is an idiot! For an educational institution to have a setup like that was pretty embarrassing. Let’s hope the stadium or MCB made that call. The bus situation was pretty disorganized also. The buses were supposed to leave at 9 from the JAR but didn’t even arrive until 9. There was no one there to provide any instruction or answer questions. When we were going to leave after the game, no one new the order the buses were in or if the had moved, etc… As far as I know, no one was left behind. Our bus driver was okay, although he was chatting on his cell phone a few times. I did appreciate the stop to stretch and eat lunch but the travel center we stopped at had two restaurants. So the 4 buses stopped in at one travel center with two restaurants. That caused some major congestion. People didn’t have much time to wait in line at the restrooms and then wait again in line for food. One plus is that the bus ride was tame. I was concerned about drunken kids puking and being rowdy . I was actually impressed with the behavior on our bus. All and all, I would do it all over again. Nothing was so bad that I would call it a failure, except the “will call†ticket line. That was completely asinine.
  9. We are heading to the JAR to get on the bus. What a great day it is! MCB bound! Go Zips! :macc:
  10. Chase about to blow up Larry Johnson Chase had 3 solo's and 6 assists.
  11. Did anyone watch the show? It was a glorified commercial really. Kind of reminded me of the Buckeyes show FSN has on Sunday mornings. It was nicely done for the most part. Bacon seemed like a stiff. Liked the player interviews, the commerical with Charlie, and seeing the guys getting fitted for their rings. The highlights of D. Williams show he is pretty tough. Of course they showed his best but still looks much more difficult to bring down than Wolfe. I'm sure JD has a plan to "contain" DW because that seemed to be what he was saying. I hate that phrase.

  13. That's my kinda pick! Nice job Nick!
  14. FYI, Sports Illustrated has MCB at 19 and GMAC bowl at 23. MCB and GMAC Also on the site, they have D Williams as a second team All-American and their kicker as an Honorable Mention. All-Americans Another note from CBS Sportsline has Rohr and Hixon as pro potential. Thought that was interesting.
  15. Excellent job! FYI, some people may need to download DivX Codec to play the actual video. At least I did. Here is the link: http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/ I watched it about 5 times already! :macc:
  16. Was at the JAR today and bought my tickets. I had to wait in a line and after I left there was a line behind me. I think everyone infront of me was asking for MCB tickets. Hopefully it continues to be that steady. :macc:
  17. Max Emfinger has Wells as a fullback. I don't know why, he doesn't say. He does not have the tickmark that says Max has seen him play though. His site was updated 12/12/05 and he still has him verbally committed to Ohio State. Of course everything is speculation. Nobody knows except for Wells.
  18. Was at the JAR on Wednesday night and they were sould out of MAC Champs Fear the Roo shirts. They had just plan Fear the Roo sweatshirts if memory serves me correctly. They had plenty of MACC shirts, hoodies, longsleeve, and hats.
  19. Just heard on Sportstalk 850 that the MCB will be on their station. Good that a Cleveland station is playing the game. Nothing has been posted on their website about it. Heck they don't really have anything on their website. http://www.wknr.com/ :macc:

  21. Wednesday, December 07, 2005 Frye is starting QB Sunday vs. Cincinnati. 12:15 p.m. Tony Grossi Plain Dealer Reporter Romeo Crennel changed his mind and announced that Charlie Frye would be the Browns starting quarterback Sunday in Cincinnati. Crennel, who originally intended to keep his starter a secret, said that it would be unfair to Frye and Trent Dilfer to wait until Sunday. The coach broke the news to Frye and Dilfer on Tuesday and told the rest of the team when it reported to work on Wednesday. Crennel said he would insert Dilfer into the game if he felt Frye were "overwhelmed" in Cincinnati. Dilfer said he didn't agree with the move but he would do everything he could to prepare Frye for his first start on the road. Cleveland Plain Dealer

  24. What about Joe Patero? More expectations and was already under pressure from his 2004, 4-7 (2-6), and 2003, 3-9 (1-7), seasons. Went 10-1 (7-1) this year. I bet George O'Leary didn't have too high of expectations. Plus, Joe is close to 80 years old.
  25. Maybe if enough people request a DVD, Championshipdvd.com would put one together. Add you suggestion to the link below: Championship DVD
