  1. It is kind of rough to look at the FIU website and see the stadium they have at a school like that. http://www.fiusports.com/football/stadium.htm Luckily our time is coming.
  2. Frye goes to Cleveland at #23, via trade!! http://www.gbnreport.com/2005projection.htm Cleveland (from Seattle) Charlie Frye QB Akron Browns use some of the profit from earlier Vikings' deal to jump ahead of Packers to get QB of the future; the fact that Frye is a local kid should also help to keep the dawg pound in check for a while
  3. This may be a month late, but I never saw anyone else post it here. I can't believe they wrote losing a talent like Frye will be a bit of a concern. You Think?! What a stupid comment. They also have Can't placed one spot above the Zips. http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2005/Sp...nglooks_MAC.htm Akron Spring practice starts March 15, Spring Game April 16 What needs working on ... Running the ball. The passing game will also be a bit of a concern without a talent like Charlie Frye at quarterback so there has to be more than 97 yards per game on the ground to keep the offense moving. New running back coach Bill Biel will have his work cut out for him. The most important position to watch is ... Quarterback and offensive line. It's hard to immediately replace a talent like Frye, but big, strong sophomore-to-be John Ferguson will give it a try. The biggest issue is on the offensive line losing four starters. Don't expect that running game to rock right away. Spring attitude... Try to regroup in a serious hurry. This is still a good enough team to hope for a shot at the MAC title helped by losing Marshall from the East, but there's now Bowling Green to deal with. A win over Miami would mean almost everything, but it's going to take a while to reload on offense.
  4. Some Frye info... http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=149&p=2&c=368005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charlie Frye School: Akron Ht: 6-4 Wt: 225 40: 4.88 Year: 5Sr Bio: Four-year starter and All-Conference quarterback who holds numerous passing records at Akron. Posted 63.6%/2,623/18/8 as a senior. Positives: Nice-sized passer and a natural, smart leader. Sets up in the pocket with good footwork, remains poised and goes through receiver progressions, buying time for wideouts. Displays good field awareness and very good at finding the open wideout. Throws with an over-the-top delivery displaying zip on the short throws and the ability to quickly get the ball into the intended targets hands. Tough competitor who plays while injured. Negatives: Steps out of throws on occasion, which adversely affects his accuracy. Possesses a solid arm, yet does not have the gun to drive deep throws. Analysis: A signal caller who’s displayed progress throughout his college career, Frye offers both the physical and mental intangibles for the next level. More athletic than given credit for and can be used in a variety of passing offenses.
  5. Still no news of the stadium... http://www.buchtelite.com/2005/0407/news_01.shtml http://www.upakron.com/index.html How about the name for that website "Up Akron", maybe not the best word choice.
  6. They actually were out there today around 3pm.
