YES! I saw the banner both on the JumboTron and in the stadium. Very Nice!

I find it humorous to go on the fan boards after the games and see fans from both sides calling the others "Classless". I'm sure if I took some time to look there are Can't fans calling Akron fans "Classless" on their message board. "Classless" is in vogue right now. There are going to be rude, obnoxious fans on both sides, (I know I was next to a couple). Believe me, if we had gotten the upper hand late in the game, we were going to give it to them! I think what we are seeing is the Akron-Can't rivalry gaining in intensity. This is a very good thing. Everyone in NE Ohio thinks that the only rivalry that matters is OSU-Michigan. It is apparent to me that the hate between the schools now puts it as one of the top rivalries in the MAC. The media and others will pick up on this and soon, we won't have to worry about the TV stations cutting out of an Akron-Can't FB game to show the OSU Pregame. Now...I can't wait till FB season! My hatred for Can't is higher than ever after last night! I will be one of those "Classless" fans the next time we take it to them!!

I can see both sides of this argument. I agree that tax dollars should be spent as efficiently as possible. On the other hand, competition is good, it drives innovation. A middle ground somewhere needs to be reached. At this point, with the financial situation in Ohio, I think finding efficient ways to spend tax dollars is important. Do what is best for everyone and NO university should be exempt.

UA is a much more competitive campus now than it was 10 years ago and some programs are also gaining recognition nationally. I don't think it has strengthened enough to pull a medical college away from the other colleges. I think it is the combination of needing to cut back on public school expenditures and trying to bolster sagging rustbelt downtowns. I'm not sure what is going on behind the scenes, but you would think that with the influence Cleveland has, it would easily pick up something like this an tag it to CSU. Does Proenza have that kind of pull to offset that or is NEOCOM such small change that Cleveland isn't even bothering with it?

I also don't think that UA will start it's own medical school. With the pressure from the State to cut back on funding to the Public Universities, and with the current financial situation at UA, I don't think UA has the muscle to pull it off. I agree that Proenza is probably putting a LOT of pressure on NEOCOM and the state to establish something in Akron. I don't fully understand the circumstances that exist between the hospitals of Cleveland, the Universities in Cleveland, and NEOCOM, but, if NEOCOM is trying to get out from under the shadow of the Cleveland Hospitals, Akron is a logical choice. With that said, I know I've heard rumors that The Cleveland Clinic was going to buy out Akron General, so this is probably very complicated. What is very exciting to think about is how the Medical industry in Greater Cleveland is starting to grow. I think this could be the "Shot in the Arm", Pun intended, that the region needs. Getting UA involved in this would be huge.

OK, I think I might have missed something, but here's my take.Buffalo on Trs. night will NOT be the last game at the RB. We told Kentucky that InfoCision probably won't be ready, and they told us to go Pound Sand. So, I expect one game at the RB in '09, and InfoCision will open 1/2 way through the season. If this is what happens, I think we should play Can't for the opening game. That Rivalry is very hot right now and we should just throw down from the beginning at the new stadium. This is all just speculation, but that's my take. If Buffalo is the last game at the RB, and it is on a Trs. night, I will be very, very, very, very disappointed. We need to send the old girl out with a bang. Promote the hell out of the game, have it on a Saturday. I have NEVER been to a game at the RB that's sold out and would love to see it just once in the 15 years I've been going to Zips games. No Miami?? WTF!!! They are always a big game. I think I speak for most Akron fans when I say, I hate Can't the most, but Miami is a solid #2. When is our FB schedule not going to be a complete pile of $#!+ Finally, I can't believe how many people are just throwing in the towel already. I think JD knows that this year is "Put Out or Get Out". At least in my mind it is. I'm optimistic that we'll be competitive.

Apparently there is some talk about a NEOCOM training center in Akron, linking with UA.http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/16439...?page=3&c=yIf this happens, this is a BIG, BIG coup for UA. With all the talk that NEOCOM would stay put and a merger of UA and CSU, this could really set UA apart. IMO, this would firmly establish UA as the premier public Science and Technology school in Northern Ohio.

What do you mean CSU borrowed an idea from UA? Come ON! This is CSU, why would they need to look to a school like Akron. Seriously, Cleveland looking to Akron for something. The next thing you are going to tell me is that a MAC team is ranked higher than OSU in anything!

This is a good problem to have! Sure, I'm bummed that I didn't get a ticket, but this is a very good problem for UA to have. I would much rather sit at home for this game and have the word get out that if you want to see a battle, go to a UA vs. Can't StateCKS game! Hopefully we start selling out FB games in the future! It's my own fault I waited so long.

I took a look at this over lunch today, and they are cranking away! As soon as one dump truck was full of dirt, the next would already be there waiting to back in. The backhoe wouldn't miss a beat diggin dirt. That hole is going to get big very quickly.

Seems to me that the Rowdies are getting a reputation for turning a Home court into a Neutral court. I remember reading earlier this season how the Buffalo fans were so worried about the rowdies before the game, and then admitted the couldn't hand with them during the game. Great, Great stuff!

Yea, read that too. Glad to see that a scum as low as a Zip (a wounded Zip a that) was able to beat elite Miami at home. Also saw where someone asked how much payback do they need for one lucky shot? Well, I'm hoping to see what kind of payback an Akron team firing on all cylinders does to Miami in Cleveland!

I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE this before the games! I think they should dim the lights when they do this! I also think it would be cool if they could put this on some of the electronic billboards in Akron and Cleveland especially just before a big game.....don't know what they would do about sound though. Big, Big, Big game an Wed. I have not made an Akron - Can't StateCKS BB game before, and this will be the first. So, is there such a thing as UA getting tickets to sell, or do I have to give my money directly to Can't? I'm ordering my tickets tomorrow...what time should I be there to get a decent seat? Hopefully we're hitting a mid season peak right about now!

Don't care about any of this. Win the MAC Tourney to get into the NCAA. NIT will snub us again and not think twice because we're Akron and nobody outside of those on this board really care.
