I hate this Montrose Ford Commercial....It starts off with "Akron fans ready to get the crap kicked out of you again?" I know they are a big supporter of the Zips, but just don't like the way it sounds.

OK, a little help here.......My wife would like to vote for Zippy, but I have already voted on our computer. I tried to delete the cookies, etc. so she can vote, but it doesn't work. How do I get around this???

As unfortunate as it is, I've given up on the ABJ. We've been whining for years over here and nothing changes. In fact, things appear to be getting worse in NE Ohio. I attribute this to OSU's success. Does Razor get paid to cover the Zips for them? If not, he should. He could just write his column every day and the ABJ and PD could post it. Razor would make a bit of a profit and we would actually get some pertinent Zips info in the paper. As unfortunate as it is, I think the ABJ is on it's way out as a relevant news paper.

USF knocks off WV last night....WOW. 11 years playing football, 7 years in DI-A. Ranked and selling Out Raymond James Stadium. What do they have, or have done to get where they are? If I remember correctly, 2 years ago they were playing in an empty stadium. Personally, I think they have some advantages being in Florida, but that doesn't explain everything. Looking at their history, they started with a few upsets and kept on beating the mediocre BCS Schools along with the occasional Big Win. They joined the Big East two years ago....that will help recruiting and then in the past two years, they have pulled off the big upset over WV. For Akron to get where USF is, we need to start knocking off some of the mediocre BCS Schools. We had UCONN in 2003, can we upset today?

So are we going to get a return game from UCONN here at some point? They went D1-A not too long ago, and we've already gone to their place TWICE with no return. We appear to be very evenly matched teams, so outside of the state of the RB, what's the deal. I checked the future schedules and I don't see them anywhere.

I hate that place.

So, the question is now, has any team finished a game with only 1 point?My wife thinks that if you actually accomplish this feat, you should get more than 1 point. In her words: "Thats a lot of running for only 1 point!".

They realized they pissed off all the Akron and Can't StateCKS fans. They would have shown the Akron, but WUAB beat them to the punch, so they will show 2 MAC Teams nobody cares about in Cleveland, and have terrible ratings. I suspect they will then use those ratings to say that nobody follows the MAC and that is why they cut away from the Akron Can't StateCKS game.

Seeing that we dominated the game, and OSU's goal was an "Own Goal", does that mean we go up in the standings and they go down? Is play one of those things that gets considered in a tie?

I say, definately support the place that supports Zip athletics already! If they've been shelling out the dough, they should be rewarded!

The question is did you buy any of that stuff? They will only offer stuff if they can sell stuff. Obviously you can't buy everything, but maybe purchase something from these racks once a year would help things.

CJ seems to have a decent deep ball.....if he gets time to pass. His short game makes me cringe. Our line really needs to improve for both running and passing.

Ended in 1-1 tie. Damn, I always like to beat OSU.So, will this help or hurt the Zips??? I would imagine that OSU goes down a bit in the rankings, and we go up. It will probably be a bit one sided though.

Can't make it this weekend, the drive from Michigan would a bit too long. Personally, I would rather meet at an establishment in Akron. With all the buzz about Akron Restaurants not supporting the Zips, we need to do something to make that change. If we make it a tradition to take over the same place for every away game we can't make it to, then they will be wearing Akron gear on Saturdays. BTW, I won't be making the drive from Michigan much longer. The family and I are moving back to Elyria here in a few weeks.

We have played two Big 10 teams and a good Can't team. With that said, I'm not so sure about us playing UConn close this weekend. To start, we're pretty beat up. I'm not sure what the update is on the injury list, but hopefully some of the guys have healed. Our offense is still terrible. It doesn't matter who is in at QB, I keep wanting the other CJ in the game. CJ 7 is a bit too jumpy in the pocket, terrible at short passes and doesn't seem to see the field as well. CJ 11 is likely to stay in the pocket too long and can't run. Doesn't matter who is in the game, they always have pressure and can't pass the ball. I have to believe that it isn't our running backs that are keeping us from gaining yards, rather it is play calling and the O-Line. The line is young and are the root of our issues....don't know what we can do here except hope they are quick learners. I would love to see something different on offense. We seem to run the same plays over and over and over. Almost hoping to get the D lulled to sleep so we can catch them sleeping. We can't pass deep, so I would love to see more short, quick timing passes. I think we can pull these off. I also think we should leverage Jabari's arm more. He did an AWESOME job last week rifling that pass on the kick return. Bottom line, against a good D, I don't expect our offense to have much production. Our D is good, but I don't think we can hold them scoreless the entire game. Losing Mackey is huge. If they keep running at us, I think we'll just be too tired in the 4th. Our DB have been doing a great job, except for last week, thank GOD Can't couldn't catch. Sorry to sound so -ve, but we've got to put points on the board, and we aren't doing that very well. Our D should keep us in the game, but they are not a D that can shut down good teams. In the end, I'm hoping for continued improvement all around and lots of turnovers. If that is the case, we'll be in it late and at least JD has a history of making things happen late in the game.
