This weeks game is HUGE! Obviously it is the first MAC game of the season, but IMO, Can't is a contender in the East and we MUST beat them on our home turf. Big Big Game! We better learn from our mistakes this week and figure out how to contain Edelmen. I can't wait to see the RB ROCKIN!

Usually by this point in the season, I have a pretty good idea of how each team is going to fare. But this year, WTF. I can't remember the last time I was this clueless about what I felt would happen in the confrence.Toledo (0-3) Getting rolled over by everyoneNIU (0-3) Upset by EASTERN?!Western (0-3) Tough schedule, but not putting up the fight I expected!BSU (2-1) One tough loss to Miami.BGSU (1-1) Upsetting Minnesota and giving MSU a scare.Buffalo (1-2) Putting 24 points on PSU and crushing TempleCan't (2-1) Beating Iowa State, rolling today Miami (1-2) Putting up a good fight in Minnesota but getting CRUSHED in Cincy.Right now, I have no idea who is going to contend where. In the West, I would still say that Western is the team to beat, but they don't appear to be the powerhouse I was expecting. CMU got stomped by two BCS Schools, but beat Toledo, who appears weak this year. NIU was upset today by Eastern! BSU has the best record, lost to Miami but beat Navy.In the East, who knows. OU beat 2 schools I have never heard of and gave VT an early scare. Can't looks to be tough, beating ISU and rolling today. BGSU really appears to be strong this year. I can't even gauge how well the MAC is doing agains the other confrences. Is it me or are the MAC teams playing with the BCS Schools early on, only to fold late. Are the MAC starters playing at the same level as the BCS boys, or are we just being taken lightly? Starting NOW we need to focus on the MAC EAST! In my gut, we've got a contender this year at Akron. We will need to bring our A game every week though. Can't is gonna be tough, especially from what we saw today. Beyond this, I can't make heads or tails of what might happen this year.

I agree, what is the deal with the adjustments. I don't know if it is coaching or depth, probably both. I really didn't get a chance to follow the game today, but it sounds like we were in it until about 1/2 through the 4th. We seem to be making adjustments week to week, and lets hope that continues and this is one of the areas we make and adjustment.

Oh, yea, I'm watching the game at home! Kids B-Day this weekend, can't get away with going to the game.

I actually was pleasantly surprised by the OSU fans I ran into last week. I heard from a few people that they are trying to clean up their image after all the rioting and the bad reputation they built up over the years. I do have to say, they are VERY preoccupied by Michigan in Columbus. Again, people like OSU because they win. It's easy to root for a winning team; you don't get harassed by anyone and you feel good about being part of something successful. What gets me is how high the expectations are for these programs. Cooper was run out of town because he couldn’t beat Michigan. UofM has 2 losses, and Lloyd Carr is all but gone. Joe Pa, after spending his life building the program, was almost canned a few years ago. My question to the fans of these major schools is do you hold yourself to such perfection? I have to admit I like seeing them squirm when they lose though.Bottom line, if we want people to wear Akron stuff in Akron, we need to win. Period!

It really doesn't matter what IU says. I'm sure some Akron fan somewhere has Akron beating IU 144-0. I'm hoping our O makes as big an improvement as our special teams did last week!

Personally, I'm hoping CJ gets the nod this week. Our O was dead, and we need a spark anywhere we can get it! Lets face it, our Line is not going to give Chris enough time to pass the ball if the IU D is as advertised. I gotta say that from what little I've read, I think our D will have a tougher time with IU than we did with OSU. Two big differences mobile QB and a great WR. We really need the O to make as much progress this week as special teams did last week!

Don't take this the wrong way, but OSU is NOT a very good team this year. They will get pounded this week by Washington and by Wisconsin and PSU, hell, Can't may even have a shot at them. I've said it before, the reason everyone likes OSU is because they win. It's easy to root for a winner! Your information is effortlessly pumped to you via your local newspaper. It frustrates me too, but when they start getting pounded, those fans will quickly jump to another winning team. A few of them will stick with OSU, but most of them will jump, and they'll jump again and again to whoever is winning. I've got a buddy who went to BGSU, but is a huge UofM fan.....he'll start talking smack about BGSU to me here in a few weeks.

Good summaries all around! First of all, I have a totally different opinion of OSU fans after this past weekend. We went out on the town on Friday night, and despite all the warnings, I wore my Akron stuff anyway! Amazingly, nobody got in my face. Showed up at the Fawcett center at 7AM set up my stuff, and despite being the only Akron fan, everyone was very helpful telling me to keep the booze undercover and stopping by to chat. On the way into the game, many people went out of their way to wish us luck! Pre-game atmosphere was AMAZING! I've been to 2 other B10 stadiums (Purdue and UofM) on game day and OSU hands down has the best pre-game atmosphere. In the stadium though, it was disappointing. Band was great, but the OSU fans were not the rabid dogs they say they are, rather benign if you ask me. Where were the ROWDIES!?! Akron fans were worse than the OSU fans, sitting on their hands the entire game!Where the hell did our special teams come from! That was the most impressive punting I think I've ever seen out of Akron. Defense, damn, they were amazing as well! Who said they couldn't make the OSU 3rd team!?! Now for the O, I agree that CJ should have gotten more playing time. It seemed to me that he hung in the pocket too long. WTF was up with that flea flicker? We've got 3 QB's we can put on the field, and we leave it up to a RB to pass the ball? I expected to see some more variation on offense but we kept the same few plays. QB's need some work. Jabari was open crossing the middle and Chris threw it way behind him. Chris also threw it directly to an OSU DB, with no Akron WR around. Carlton made a few good moves, but I guess I expected more. I don't blame the players, IMO, we were out coached on the O. I also understand these guys are green, give them some time and they'll get better.IU is gonna be TOUGH this week, not the game we expected! I just hope we show steady improvement over the next week so we can put the whoopin on K E N T!

I plan on watching at a place known as "The Horseshoe" in Columbus. I hear it gets pretty crowded and I'll probably have seats that don't face the TV......bummer.

Who's going to be tailgating and what time are you getting there? I'm going to be at the Fawcett center and I have some people meeting me, and I want to be sure I get a spot!

I go away for a while and look what happens. I would like to say that the AK-OLDIES is not something that I personally take credit for. It was simply an inside joke that didn't have much momentum. The folks who have spent so much time working to make this thing a reality are the ones who should get the credit. I appreciate the mention though.

It's easy to root for a winnter. Even if Akron had a stellar year this year (10-2), we would still get crap from fans from BCS Schools saying how we play an easy schedule (which admittedly, relative to most of their schedules, it is). Most people don't want to get picked on at the water cooler week in and week out, it's just that simple. Some of us, just don't care.

Impressive! My wife and I are signing up. I think I know of a few other who will probably join also. Great Job!

From Pluto's story, I'm voting for Quinn to start! Sounds like a trainwreck in Cleveland (why am I a Browns fan?? ). Since I am pulling for Charlie, let Quinn get the crap kicked out of him and the fans hate him. What a downer that article was....I'm already thinking about getting this season over with! Actually, I feel bad for all the QB's, sounds like just a bad situation.

It would be nice to put both in to see who reacts better in a game atmosphere, but we have a pretty tough schedule early on. Seems to me we should pick a starter to avoid controversy and keep the team focused. With that said, if we are blowing out someone, or getting blown out, put in #2. Of course, this could all be a waste of typing if #2 leaves, which I hope doesn't happen.
