  1. The "computers" aren't complicated a formula Rutgers is propelled by a win over Arkansas in Arkansas (SEC as a conference carries more points with the "computers") Can't beat up on Rutgers in New Jersey. 11-1 with a win over a ranked team that had 0 losses and a win over an SEC team. Simple "computer" logic.
  2. Could NIU jump 5 spots in the BCS standings by beating Can't? NIU is 18 19 and BCS 21 (no wins over ranked opponents) Can't is 19 18 and BCS 17 (win over then ranked 15) Both teams need teams above them to lose, but say NIU blows out Can't, not impossible Can't has way more on the line, would that not justify NIU being 16 and Can't falling to 21?
  3. Problem is, that as much as TV makes it about market size, it really comes down to competition level. Do any of those big cities you mentioned, not pay more attention to the best performing team in their area. Houston and Dallas care about Texas and A&M, Orlando cares about any Florida team but UCF, Philly is Penn State territory. Having a team in that market means nothing if the team is competitive. For fan experience, maybe the bigger cities would be better (at least easier for travel) but there looks to be ZERO competitive benefit.
  4. MAC well on its way to being the number 1 non-AQ conference in FBS. When the Big Least is adding Tulane, that is grasping at straws.
  5. I'm glad there are few level headed people on the board. Bowden made one bad decision this game, that was the poorly executed fake field goal. That play was set up when Pohl was still the holder for field goals, as soon as they moved that to Paul, about mid season, the play should have been thrown out. Despite that we ended up forcing a turnover 5 plays letter so that ended in a wash. Other than that we lost because the offense couldn't get anything going to take advantage of the defense's strong third quarter, after that depth got to us, you could see them playing tired (slow reaction, missed assignments etc) in the 4th. That goes for the two second quarter deep balls as well. Hopefully we build some depth in the off season. This team was legitimately close to 4 additional wins this season (FIU, Miami, Can't, Ohio) and competitive in everything except for CMU (which is just plain curious, maybe looking ahead to Can't who knows). It hurts bad for another crappy season, but remember how young the team is We lose, Suel, Dalton, and two starting lineman on offense. We lose both corners, Griggs, and Mangum on defense. So we are returning 14 starters next season. We have one of the top offenses (in many categories) in the country coming back, and Pohl looks more than capable to keep that trend going. We need Brown and Turner to have a good off season in the weight room and we have a devastating tandem in the Linebacking core next year. Corners and additional D-line are what worry me, we need 4 solid d-tackles that can rotate so we don't have another Bowling Green happen.
  6. Yes but the other girl to the left in the picture is hideous.
  7. Um, it's a let down because its the rivalry game, they had the wheel in their grasps. You spend a lot of time and emotion preparing for a game like Saturday and its just one more in a long list of "could have's". So yes, there is potential for a let down. I don't expect Terry to let it happen.
  8. We still have Toledo, but let's face it, at Toledo, on a Tuesday, that game is going to be difficult/near impossible to win. Hopefully the let down isn't too great from the Can't game that these guys can go and get another win. The best thing from this year is that a team of mostly Freshmen and Sophomores were in every game (minus CMU and CFU).
  9. 21-7 just like THAT. It is negativity.
  10. There fixed that for you. Take your negativity and go some where else.
  11. So I was right, he didn't vote for him, so he could draw more attention to himself with another article.
  12. Went there all the time when growing up, ACME Zip games, Friday night football double headers, played there, coached there...its a sad state.
  13. Officially I said the OU win over Penn State was meaningless and that Penn State wouldn't win but 1 or 2 games. I was mistaken, the OU win was meaningless because the Big 10 ended up sucking worse than Penn State, which is astounding in it's own right.
  14. Any list of silly nicknames that doesn't include the Crimson Tide, which relates very well to monthly issues in females, is not a complete list.
  15. First there is no Uptown Athens, unless you mean Uphill. Second, if 87,000 rednecks didn't rattle Akron, 25,000 yuppies aren't going to rattle Akron. Third, its nice that you will be sitting in the Akron fan section.
  16. Yes it's true, he said as much in his post game convo with Dunn, and then again in the official presser. "I didn't come in with a plan B, and that's my fault"
  17. Kind of depends on what the person is volunteering for doesn't it?
  18. BINGO... The Roo does resonate with people, it would be dumb to drop that. I feel like we should have at least two kangaroo statues on campus. Ideally at the Buchtel and Union plaza outside of Olin, and then another one on Exchange near the Lee R. Jackson field entrance so people attending football or soccer pass by it.
  19. Horrible, officiating as a whole stunk on Saturday, that one call was blatant stupidity, but we ended up scoring the very next play so no harm done. I think the worst call of the day was Miami's final drive, receiver makes a catch, Gilmer is standing his ground, the receiver's momentum carries him into an already positioned Gilmer, Gilmer absorbs the blow and pushes forward slightly taking the Miami guy off his feet. Flag flies. What? The receiver ran into Gilmer, what is a defender supposed to do, avoid contact? How is that football?!
  20. I would think you were being sarcastic and referencing basketball if not for Toledo's fondness for going into the 60's in football.
